Abstract

The Central Statistics Agency in their report in 2020 reported that in the first quarter of 2020, Indonesian economy was only able to growth by 2.97% from the previously projected in the level of 4.6%. The failure to achieve the projection indicates that Indonesia is in danger of economic crisis. On the other hand, Indonesia turned out to be a middle to upperlevel country in terms of income. This condition is recored in the World Bank report which stated that Indonesia’s gross national income per capita is 4,050 dollars per year in 2019. Nevertheless, Indonesia still has some homeworks especially in terms of food security and also adequate nutrition of people. The Global Nutrition Report notes that Indonesia is one of three countries that have problem with this physical condition in children (stunting). To deal with this problem, this article formuate a solution to propose productive zakat instrument as an innovation to the development of laying hens cultivation to improve food security and nutrition of people in underdeveloped region.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of countries that have largest Muslim population. The potential and opportunity for Islamic finance in Indonesiaa therefore is huge including Islamic insurance sector. This article aims to identify and analyse the potential development of the Islamic insurance market in Indonesia. By using systematic literature review which uses books and other related literature, the result shows that the potential development of Islamic insurance in Indonesia is already large. This is proven by the existence of several supporting factors and also strategies which is directed to develop Islamic insurance especially from government that making official regulation.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are business activities that are able to expand employment opportunity, activate economic activities more broadly, reduce economic inequality and increase income of society, boost economic growth and so on. Besides its large contribution to the national economy, this enterprises face capital adequacy and also human resources as its challange. Therefore, this article proposes Micro Waqf Bank (Bank Wakaf Mikro, BWM) as a alternative financing institution to micro, small and medium enterprises. Using a qualitative approach, hopefully this BWM can enhance standard of living of society and also can reduce inequality and poverty.

Abstract

Indonesia is a large country with 270 million people living in the country. By that total population, Indonesia places 4th largest population in the world. Waqf is one important maliyah worship and has enermous conomic potential. Dr. Oni Sahroni (DSN-MUI Member) explained that sharia stock, if reviewed in the science of jurispridence, is permissible in Islam. However, it should also be noted that every investment always has a risk. Therefore, in this study the author will try to fully review how to utilise cash waqf in the form of sharia stock. This research uses a descriptive study method by examining various information on waqf management from various secondary sources (previous research) to produce a result and conclution of this study related to waqf management issues. In general, the model for implementing stock-based waqf is derived from profit of stock management which are then given to the waqf management institution to then be converted into waqf benefits in the form of productive assets and physical assets for society benefit. In more detail, there are two models of implementing stock waqf in Indonesia and the potency of stock waqf in this country is very large.

Abstract

The development of Islamic finance has been very rapid in the last 10 years. From many varoius products, one instrument of Islamic finance that can drives economic growth is sukuk. One type of sukuk issued by Indonesian government is State Sharia Securities (SBSN). this study uses interest rate, exchange rate, and inflation as independent variables. The results of this study reveal that the interest rate variable has no significant impact on SBSN trading through transactions in the secondary market. However, there is a change in interest rate before and after the covid era. Then the exchange rate variable also does not have significant effect on SBSN but it also has an increasing coefficient change after the pandemic happened. Then finally there is inflation that does not have a significant effect on SBSN. However, there is also a change in coefficient which was initially positive to negative after the covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

The political events can affect the condition of a capital market because it is related to the national economic stability. One of the events that affects the capital market is the general election. The 2019 general election was the first time that presidential and legislative elections were held at the same time in Indonesia. However, the high public enthusiasm, which reached 81%, was not followed by the increase of IDX Composite (IHSG) throughout April 2019. The IDX Composite fluctuated and tended to decline. This research is an event study that aims to analyze the differences in abnormal return and trading volume activity of stock market between the period before and after the general election held on April 17, 2019.This study uses quantitative methods by using secondary data, published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. The population of the data used is the 70 companies listed on Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII70), then the sample was taken using the purposive sampling as many as 58 of 70 companies. The event period is 20 days length, 10 days before the election, and 10 days after the election. The analysis uses non-parametcric different’s test Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The result showed that there were no significant differences in abnormal return, but there were significant differences in trading volume activity between before and after the general election April 17, 2019.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with the 2nd most halal tourist place in the world. Many provinces and tourist destinations in Indonesia have implemented halal tourism programs by carrying out the concept of local wisdom and trying to attract many tourists to visit. Halal Tourism itself is a cultural-based tourism that applies Islamic values as its foundation. One city that has begun to develop halal tourism is the city of Semarang. The purpose of this study is to see the development of halal tourism in the city of Semarang by optimizing local wisdom through the concept of smart tourism. The approach used in this study is a qualitative and using systematic literature review as a method. The results of this study indicate that the tourism sector has a positive contribution to the economy because it can increase the number of visitors and investment.  Therefore, this sector can become one of the main factors in increasing country's foreign exchange earnings, increasing employment, as well as business and infrastructure development. To develop more halal tourism sector, it is certainly to develop access of information and transportation.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the most populous country in this world with total population is about 273.87 million at the end of 2021. among that total popilation, there are still 26.50 million is in below poverty line. As a country with Muslim majority population, Indonesia has one of the potentials that can be optimised to reduce poverty, namely zakat. However, the magnitude of the potential for zakat in realization is still has many obstacles that leads to lower relatization of zakat compared to huge potency of the zakat. Therefore, the main function of zakat to alleviate poverty level cannot be optimised. This study aims to propose the solutions to increase the transparancy and accountability for zakat management organization (OPZ) using an Islamic institutional perspective. Theapproach used in this research is a qualitative research through systematic literature review. The results show that transparency and accountability can be improved by implementing the basic axioms of islamic business ethics, namely balance/fairness in implementing zakat collection activities.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of the role of digitizing zakat in social welfare and national economic recovery during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to understand the role of the distribution of zakat digitalization to provide welfare and encourage economic recovery during the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. In the current era of the Covid-19 pandemic, this study provides insight for policy makers  to be able to manage the consequences of the pandemic innovatively. To facilitate muzakki to make it easier to pay zakat, BAZNAS of the Republic of Indonesia has innovation  by issuing a digital zakat platform. The collection of zakat funds at BAZNAS of the Republic of Indonesia has increased even in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis which is an effort to find out the events in the object of research, then carried out with a library research approach. Meanwhile, to analyze the data using content analysis technique, which is a method used to find out a conclusion from a text. Based on observations, it was found that the absorption of funds carried out by zakat management institutions had increased quite well in overcoming economic problems during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Indonesia as a tropical country is considered as one of the richest countries in the world with its biodiversity. However, this condition will make Indonesia more vunerable to climate change. Therefore, one of government’s commitment in respond to the climate change is by initiating various green finaning instrumentswhere one of which is geen sukuk. Green sukuk is one instrument that relevant to overcome climate change as this type of financing is specifically targeted development with considering environmental aspect. This study aims to examin opportunities and challanges in developing green sukuk financing in Indonesia. By using narrative review from many sources, the result indicates that there are opportunities for Indonesia to develop green sukuk. Several reasons are  the existence of islamic financial market that still growing from time to time, investor awareness of environment issues, and demand for energy supply, In addition there are several challange for Indonesia to develop green sukuk instrument such as low public literacy related to green sukuk, lack of socialization, and several characteristics of investors.
