Abstract

Mathematics is one of the main subjects at every level of education that applies not only in Indonesia but also at any level of education throughout the world. Mathematics has become a scary thing for most children so that it is one of the causes of unsatisfactory learning achievement in mathematics. Children at the Washliyah Orphanage Lubuk Pakam, North Sumatra also feel that mathematics is a scary subject. Therefore, one of the objectives of the Field Work Practice I is to provide assistance to clients so that they can improve their mathematical skills, namely counting. The process of providing assistance was also carried out in the Field Work Practice I mini project activity, using the case work method through the general or general intervention stage consisting of Engagement Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation, and Termination. The process of solving client problems is to introduce the Jarimatika arithmetic method. The goal of the program is successful, because the client can solve the problem.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic condition affects the motivation and enthusiasm for learning in children, which is becoming increasingly low. Especially in the condition of the children in the orphanage, they have to learn independently to catch up with them which makes them bored with the learning atmosphere. This problem occurs in children at the Mercy Clement Indonesia Orphanage. The limited teaching and learning activities in schools make children have to learn independently. Of course, when learning independently, children will feel bored easily, and this happened to one of the children at the orphanage, so he needed help in order to revive his enthusiasm for learning. As a social welfare student who is in Field Practice (PKL) it is your responsibility to provide assistance. The method of assistance is carried out by social case work through several stages, namely Engagement, Intake, Contract (EIC), Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. The solution for the help provided was a children's activity book, the Calistung Challenge Book. This book contains calistung exercises (reading, writing and counting), activity sheets such as stories, crosswords, interesting facts. The evaluation of this program was seen that the client felt enthusiastic in learning and understanding the lessons of calistung (reading, writing and counting).

Abstract

The children are the golden generation, they will be the support of the nation for better or better in the future. At this very moment, we often meet many children who have a learning problem because it is none other than the lack of interest factor. Entertainment and social media take much of their time away from studying, when study is essential because learning increases their critical and broader thinking. This is what the author found in the PKL I Yayasan Panti Asuhan Menara Kasih Indonesia, Medan.. The writer meets one child who has trouble studying, the child has no real interest in studying. This prompts the writer to be able to dig and help the client to have the passion to learn by case work methods of analyzing problems and in addressing them using the lecture methods. The authors realized that the lecture method was a practical and efficient method used to increase the client's interest in learning. Author, hoping by his doing this method can help a client get out of the problem the client is facing.

Abstract

Self-confidence is an important basic thing in carrying out various activities in life. Confidence is also needed in the teaching and learning process where when learning sometimes someone needs guidance and direction from others. But sometimes someone is afraid to ask questions when experiencing difficulties that make some one entangled in ignorance. This is also what is faced by a child at the Menara Kasih Indonesia Orphanage Foundation where the child lacks confidence in his ability in terms of learning. Through this case, one of the efforts made is to carry out mini project activities using the case work method through stages consisting of: of Engagement Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation, and Termination. The process of solving client problems is applied by a motivation and appreciation system as a strategy to increase the client's interest in learning. The purpose of implementing this program is to increase the confidence in children and enthusiasm in learning and trying new things.

Abstract

Self-confidence is one of the most important aspects of a person's personality. Self-confidence is a very valuable attribute in a person in social life, without self-confidence it will cause many problems in a person. This is because with self-confidence, a person is able to actualize all his potential. Self-confidence is needed by both a child and a parent, individually or in groups. Individuals who are confident will view weaknesses as natural for every individual, because individuals who are confident will turn their weaknesses into motivation to develop their strengths and will not allow their weaknesses to become obstacles in actualizing their strengths.Children who are confident will be able to accept themselves, ready to accept challenges in the sense of wanting to try something new even though they are aware that the possibilities that a person has must and tend to be more successful in doing what he wants. Meanwhile, children who lack self-confidence will be pessimistic in facing challenges, afraid and hesitant to express ideas, indecisive in choosing and often compare themselves with others. Because personality development, mental and intellectual attitudes are formed from an early age and need a process, children's self-confidence needs to be built from an early age.

Abstract

Based Program for International Student Assessment ( Bisa) survey, it was released that Indonesia was ranked 72nd out of 77 countries for the student ability category. It is at number 371 for the reading category, and compared to Malaysia which is at number 415. It is at number 379 for mathematics and 396 for science, and compared again with Malaysia, namely at number 440 and 438. Therefore I am motivated to solve problems that arise The problems faced by Rapha'El Simalingkar orphanage children are the lack of interest in learning because they think learning is a boring activity. As well as the target to be achieved, namely increasing interest in learning for the children of the Rapha'El orphanage so that they know how much impact or benefit this learning has. So the solution offered in this field work practice is the provision of motivation and interesting and not boring learning sessions. The Intervention Program used in this Field Work Practice 1 activity is a micro-level intervention (casework) consisting of; Engagement/Intake and Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination.

Abstract

Every child has a problem with the social sensitivity that is around him, be it school, environment, or family. Social attitude is one aspect that needs to be developed to improve children's social skills. Social attitude is an individual's awareness that determines real actions to behave in a certain way towards others and emphasizes social goals rather than personal goals in public life. Attitude is a tendency to approach or avoid, positive or negative towards various social conditions in the environment they are in, whether it be institutions, individuals, situations, ideas, concepts and so on. If you look closely, almost all definitions of attitude have the same view. Community service is a form of dedication by students or lecturers by pouring knowledge, experience and other things that have been obtained to go down directly to the community. The author carries out community service which is one part of the author's Field Work Practice. This community service is carried out at the Pelita Studio. The author carries out this activity by setting the object of service, namely one student aged 12 years and has attended junior high school. Implementation is used with the Micro Intervention method.

Abstract

Confidence and interest in learning are two important aspects that must be possessed by children who are entering their teens. Teenagers should have good self-confidence and interest in learning, if they feel less confident and their interest in learning decreases, this will have fatal consequences when they reach adulthood. They will become individuals who tend to close themselves and find it difficult to be active in their social environment. One of the teenagers at the Ora Et Labora Nusantara Orphanage in Medan also experienced the same thing, he needed professional help to help him regain his confidence and interest in learning. The assistance process provided was also carried out in the PKL 1 mini project activity, using the casework method through the general intervention stage consisting of Engagement Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. The focus of solving client problems in the intervention process this time is honing the interests and talents of clients through watching via Youtube media and accompanied by joint discussions as a strategy designed to increase the client's confidence and interest in learning. The objectives of this program are stated to have been achieved, as evidenced by the return of self-confidence and increased client interest in learning.

Abstract

Interest in reading needs to be instilled and grown since children are small because interest in reading in children will not be formed by itself, but is strongly influenced by stimuli obtained from the child’s environment. Especially the interest in learning to read the Qur’an which is the main guideline for Muslims. Renewal in the world of education can be done by using technology in the sector supporting the learning process as an innovation in education. Several developed and developing countries utilize multimedia technology as a means of delivering learning materials. There are several roles of learning media, among others, learning will attract the attention of students so that it can lead to learning motivation and allow students to master learning objectives better. The purpose of this research is to increase the spirit of interest in learning the Qur’an in children at the Al-Jami’yatul Washliyah Orphanage. The intervention program is carried out using the Mezzo Intervention by Zastrow which consists of Engagement, Intake and Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. The final results obtained are that children become more aware and understand in learning to read the Qur’an.

Abstract

Interest is a sense of preference, interest, attention, focus, persistence, effort, and the result of a person's or individual's interaction with certain content or activities. One of them is learning while playing to foster one's interest in learning, seeing children's playing spirit is very high, therefore it is combined so that learning is not left behind. Children get bored quickly if it is not combined with methods like this, in addition to increasing interest in learning, it also increases creativity for the officers of Gang officers. The process of helping to increase interest in learning with the PKL I mini project using the casework method through the individual intervention stages of Engagment Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning / Planning, Intervention, Evaluation, and Termination. The focus of the client problem solving process is the use of the Learning While Playing method as a jointly designed strategy to increase the client's interest in learning. The purpose of this program is stated to have been achieved, proven, and an increase in the enthusiasm for learning and a great curiosity towards mathematics and other sciences
