Abstract

In efforts to improve public health, it is necessary to implement clean and healthy living behaviours in the community to achieve a better standard of living. One strategy that can be used to earn a degree in public health is to provide education on public awareness of the importance of implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle. Community service activities aim to evaluate the impact of counselling on the level of knowledge and attitudes of the community related to clean and healthy living. The method involves organising counselling sessions in several communities through active community participation. We used pre-counseling and post-extension surveys to measure changes in knowledge levels and attitudes. Results showed a significant increase in people's knowledge levels after counselling. Interactive counselling sessions and clear information delivery successfully provided a better understanding of clean and healthy living principles. It concluded with the active participation of the community, the involvement of community leaders, and the use of relevant supporting materials. These findings have positive implications for developing health education programmes at the community level. Increased knowledge and attitudes are expected to change people's behaviour towards a healthier lifestyle.

Abstract

Hypertension is a health problem that often occurs in senior citizens and can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other health complications. Health education about hypertension among senior citizens has become very important to improve their understanding of this condition. The purpose of this activity is to implement health promotion and preventive efforts based on collaboration between professions in providing hypertension health education to the elderly. The method used is material presentation, discussion, and evaluation of activities. The result of the implementation of this activity is an increase in elderly knowledge about hypertension from poor to good. It was concluded that there was a need for periodic socialisation involving many communities and cadres. Families are expected to apply at home and disseminate information related to hypertension. Through this increased knowledge, it is hoped that senior citizens can take preventive and proactive steps in managing their blood pressure, promoting heart health, and improving their overall quality of life. This holistic approach involves collaborating with health workers, drawing on local resources, and ensuring social support is in place to support efforts to prevent and manage hypertension among senior citizens

Abstract

Stunting in toddlers is a global health problem that requires serious attention, especially in developing countries. This community service activity aims to examine the role of families in stunting prevention in toddlers, focusing on educational aspects. The family has a significant role in ensuring the optimal growth and development of children. This community service activity is carried out through the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results showed that family education is closely related to stunting prevention, involving understanding nutrition, healthy eating, sanitation, and hygiene practices. Factors such as a family's education level, socioeconomic status, and access to health services affect a family's ability to implement stunting prevention practices. Therefore, appropriate and easily accessible educational programmes need to be developed to increase family knowledge and awareness about the importance of child growth and development. This activity recommends that the government, health institutions, and health practitioners integrate educational approaches into stunting prevention programmes. Collaborative efforts between various parties are needed to create an environment that supports optimal child growth and reduces stunting at the population level.

Abstract

Public health is a vital aspect in the development of a country. One of the key factors affecting health is balanced nutrition. Despite this, awareness of the importance of nutrition is often low in many societies, especially in developing countries. To overcome this challenge, balanced nutrition education programs have become one of the effective strategies. This program aims to increase public knowledge and awareness about the importance of balanced nutrition and encourage behavior change towards a healthier diet. Program implementation methods include identification of needs, development of appropriate educational materials, program implementation involving various related parties, periodic evaluation, and program adjustments as needed. The results of this program include increased knowledge of community nutrition, changes in healthier eating behaviors, and improved overall health and well-being of the community. The success of balanced nutrition education programs shows that this approach is effective in raising people's nutrition awareness and encouraging positive behavior change. However, sustainability and innovation development challenges still need to be addressed to achieve broader and sustainable impact in the long term. With strong commitment and cross-sector cooperation, balanced nutrition education programs have the potential to significantly improve the quality of life and welfare of the community
