Abstract

Water hyacinth is chosen as an environmentally friendly and abundant alternative carbon source. The test material, low-carbon steel SS400, is treated with pack carburizing heat treatment using water hyacinth charcoal as the carburizing medium. This study aims to analyze the effect of the pack carburizing method using water hyacinth charcoal from Lake Limboto on the microstructure of SS400 low-carbon steel. The analysis focuses on changes in the microstructure, hardness, and carbon distribution on the material's surface. The results show that the use of water hyacinth charcoal as a carburizing medium effectively increases the carbon content in the surface layer of the material, produces a martensitic microstructure after rapid cooling, and significantly improves surface hardness.

Abstract

In the modern era, the development of software has advanced rapidly. Various features and conveniences provided enable easier access to and use of information on the internet. One of the essential mediums in this context is websites. Websites have become a primary need for delivering necessary information and building trust and comfort in various business activities.This scientific writing adopts the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method, which includes the stages of analysis, design, implementation, and testing. In this study, a payroll application was successfully developed to support online attendance and payroll processes. The application testing was conducted using several web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. The developed website can be accessed through http://localhost/payrol/.The test results showed that Google Chrome is the best browser due to its faster loading time compared to the others. With the operation of this website, the attendance and payroll processes in the company have become easier and more efficient for both administrators and employees. This application is expected to make a significant contribution to improving the company's operational efficiency.

Abstract

A package box is a container or place that functions to make it easier for the package courier to put the package by requiring some certain body posture movements so that the package can be placed firmly in place. Anthropometry is a set of numerical data related to the physical characteristics of the human body, size, shape and strength and the application of the data to the handling of design problems. The purpose of this study is to identify the posture of use and develop a package box design based on anthropometric data of the posture of the initial package box user when placing and picking up packages. The results of the calculation of anthropometric data based on the 5th, 50th, and 95th percentile precenttility values for the development of the package box design were obtained that the length of the Package Box (95th) was 50.5085 ≈ 51 cm, the width of the Package Box (5th) was 30.6067 ≈ 31 cm, while the height of the package box (50 years) was 136.77 ≈ 137 cm. The comparison of the dimensions of the initial package box is 50 x 50 x 70 cm, while the result of the development of the design of the package box is 51 x 31 x 137 cm. The position of opening the reference package box is carried out with the position of hunched shoulders and the position of reaching the hands down when placing and picking up the package, while the position of the user of the developed package box when placing the package and the position of reaching the forward hand when placing and picking up the package with an upright posture

Abstract

This study aims to determine how to create a service system for Cikarang Utama Residence residents. The process of delivering information about RT.052 environmental activities, information related to the RT management team, and services such as delivering criticism, suggestions and complaints are still carried out in a limited manner. Thus, a service information system was created that aims to serve the needs of Cikarang Utama Residence RT.052 residents. The research method used in creating this website is the SDLC method or (System Development Life Cycle), and programming languages to develop the system using HTML, PHP and MySQL as the database. The trial conducted using the blackbox method to ensure that the system can operate as expected, and to conduct browser comparison testing. In addition, a trial of the User Acceptance Test (UAT) method was carried out using a questionnaire. The hosting address of the citizen service system website created is https://pelayanan-warga.kesug.com/.

Abstract

An efficient and accurate payroll system is essential for small businesses to ensure employee satisfaction while maintaining smooth operational processes. This study aims to design and develop a payroll system based on Unified Modeling Language (UML), specifically tailored for small businesses with 50–100 employees. The system includes processes such as employee data collection, salary calculation, validation, approval, payment, and reporting. UML design is utilized to model the system workflow, including use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and class diagrams. The implementation results demonstrate that the system can reduce calculation errors by up to 90% and improve data processing time by 50%. Additionally, the system provides transparent reporting features to support financial decision-making. With its development flexibility, the system can be adapted for further integration, such as attendance modules or tax reporting. This study makes a significant contribution to enhancing the efficiency and professionalism of payroll management in small businesses.

Abstract

Efficient tool management in automotive workshops is often hindered by manual systems prone to errors, delays, and a lack of transparency. This study aims to design a digital tool borrowing system using use case and activity diagrams to enhance efficiency and accountability. The use case diagram maps the roles of borrowers, administrators, and technicians, while the activity diagram illustrates the detailed workflow, from tool availability checks to returns and damage reporting. The design results show that the system provides key features, such as automated tool availability checks, digital approvals, transaction recording, and damage reporting. The implementation of this system reduces borrowing process time, enhances transparency in tool management, and ensures tools are maintained in good condition. The proposed system not only improves the operational efficiency of workshops but also offers a better user experience. With potential integration of technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain, the system can be further developed to enable real-time tool tracking and enhance data security.

Abstract

The curing process is a stage in car tire molding carried out under high temperature and pressure. One of the key components in this process is the crown mold segment, which functions to shape the tread pattern on the tire. This study aims to analyze the heat distribution in the crown mold segment using Solidworks software, focusing on material specifications, heat distribution patterns, and simulation parameters affecting the results. The material used is Steel AISI 1020. The simulation results indicate an even heat distribution with an initial temperature of 453 K, convection ranging from 179.933°C to 179.967°C on the side area, and 179.916°C to 179.950°C on the tread pattern. Heat transfer rates were recorded as 96,323.28 W through conduction, 898.452 W through convection, and 2.56 W through radiation. Key parameters influencing the simulation include the initial material temperature (453 K), convection coefficient (10 W/(m²·K)), radiation emissivity (0.3), and ambient temperature (300 K).

Abstract

Open space is a space that arises because of the need to provide a place for humans to meet and communicate. Open space is the concept of an open workspace without partitions. The main feature of the concept of open space is the absence of chambers and partitions. The interior is modern, with modern amenities that cater to the needs of employees, and common spaces. In addition, there are other elements that support the use of open offices to increase productivity, such as light, air, color, and sound. A good office layout and comfort will affect the work productivity of your company's employees.In this study, the author discusses the application of the open space concept to productivity in the Plaza Bank Mandiri Sudirman office building.The research approach was carried out using a qualitative approach that was arranged narratively. Data collection for this study was conducted through interviews and direct observation in the Bank Plaza Mandiri office building. Use secondary data independently, such as through the internet and journals. Find out how open office design impacts employee productivity at Bank Mandiri Sudirman Plaza Office.

Abstract

The current parking system still uses a manual parking system, vehicle owners still have difficulty finding an empty parking space because they have to go around the parking area so it is less efficient and takes a long time. This study aims to help car drivers save time in finding parking locations and knowing the availability of parking spaces. In this study, there are two types of input used: infrared sensors, which function to measure the capacity of the parking space, and RFID sensors, which are used to detect cards. The data processing process is carried out using Arduino Uno, while the LCD is used to display the number of available parking slots and the location of the slot. In addition, the servo motor functions to open the barrier. This system operates in a way, when a car enters and attaches a registered card, the servo motor will open, and the number of parking slots will decrease. The driver then selects a parking slot, which will be automatically marked as "full" on the LCD screen. When the infrared sensor detects a car that wants to exit, the servo motor will open again, and the number of parking slots on the LCD will increase.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology is encouraging businesses to transform towards digital. Toko Madzhab Creative, as a small and medium business in the field of t-shirt screen printing and sticker printing, faces challenges in increasing efficiency and market reach. This research aims to develop a user-friendly website to simplify the ordering process and increase sales. In creating the Creative Mazhab Shop website, the SDLC method was used, namely by designing, building and testing a PHP and MySQL based website. The research results show that the website developed has succeeded in increasing the efficiency of the ordering process and has the potential to increase sales and market reach of the Madzhab Creative Store. This website can be accessed at https://mazhabcreative.online.
