Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of exchange rates and inflation on Indonesia's economic growth from 2013 to 2023. Using a quantitative method, the research examines secondary data obtained from Bank Indonesia and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The dependent variable is economic growth, while the independent variables are exchange rates and inflation. Data analysis was conducted using classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and hypothesis testing through t-tests and F-tests. The findings reveal that exchange rates significantly affect economic growth, with a positive regression coefficient. This indicates that higher exchange rates contribute positively to economic growth by enhancing export competitiveness and influencing domestic economic activities. Conversely, inflation does not significantly impact economic growth, suggesting limited effects of inflation during the analyzed period. Simultaneously, exchange rates and inflation explain 83.5% of the variance in economic growth, demonstrating their combined influence. The study concludes that exchange rates are a crucial determinant of economic growth, while inflation requires further investigation for a comprehensive understanding. Policymakers should focus on maintaining stable exchange rates and controlling inflation to ensure sustainable economic development

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the development, challenges, and future policy directions of international taxation through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach of 25 recent articles. The findings indicate that the digital economy has introduced new challenges to the global tax system, particularly regarding the definition of permanent establishment, reporting transparency, and the harmonization of regulations across countries. Key challenges include double taxation, the taxation of digital assets, and the still-debated implementation of carbon taxes in relation to economic growth. The most frequently used theory in this study is Agency Theory, which explains the relationship between the government and taxpayers in reducing information asymmetry and preventing tax avoidance practices. Meanwhile, the dominant method employed is qualitative, with descriptive and policy analysis approaches. Several initiatives, such as the Global Minimum Tax (GloBE), have been introduced to create a fairer tax system. Future tax policies are predicted to be more adaptive, prioritizing fairness, economic incentives, and the utilization of digital technology to enhance the effectiveness and transparency of the tax system.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the risk culture at PT Bank ABC using the Sound Risk Culture Indicators framework from the Financial Stability Board (FSB). A strong risk culture is a crucial element in banking risk management, particularly in ensuring business sustainability and regulatory compliance. This study is conducted in the context of Bank ABC’s transformation from a traditional bank into a digital bank following its acquisition by PT JKL Group and PT DEF. This research adopts a qualitative case study approach, collecting data through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and a review of internal company documents. The respondents include executive officers, the head of the risk management division, the head of the human resources division, and employees involved in risk management. The findings indicate that Bank ABC has a relatively strong risk culture, particularly in the aspects of tone from the top, accountability, and risk communication. However, several challenges remain, such as the lack of a comprehensive assessment of risk culture maturity and limitations in escalation mechanisms and risk-based incentives. Operational risks, particularly those related to internal fraud and process errors, remain a key concern. By implementing the recommendations based on the FSB Sound Risk Culture Indicators, Bank ABC is expected to further enhance the effectiveness of its risk management, supporting its digital transformation and improving overall risk governance.
