Ethno-science is as an attempt "to recast what serves as science to others, their practice of taking care of themselves and their bodies, their botanical knowledge, but also the form of their classification, making connections, etc. Educational research is a systematic attempt to gain a better understanding of the educational process, with the aim of increasing its efficiency. This is done by applying the scientific method to studying educational problems. Ethno-science learning aims to reconstruct cultural knowledge and local wisdom. This learning process is very flexible and useful in combining basic and applied scientific research in education. Abstract

A seven segment display, or in Indonesian it is called a seven segment display, is an electronic device consisting of segments that are used to display decimal numbers or numbers. This journal will explain how to simulate a seven segment display circuit using computer software called Electronics Workbench. This simulation is done to help understand how a seven segment display circuit can work, and because this is a simulation, there is no need to be afraid of failure, or making mistakes. This simulation is done by connecting a seven segment display with a 74 series Digital IC, you can use a 7447 or 7448 IC, because the function is still the same, and the IC formation is still the same, and is suitable for connecting seven segment displays. Then the IC is controlled via a switch / button that is connected directly to the IC, and the switch and IC are also connected to a power source, so that the circuit simulation can run. The results of this simulation show that the simulation can be done well in the Electronics Workbench software, can be a medium of learning about how seven segment displays work, and so that we can more easily understand how electronic devices work.

Abstract

The existence of COVID-19 pandemic struck across the country in the world, including Indonesia has disrupted human activities in various sectors of life. Online learning can not be separated from internet networks. The internet network connection is one of the obstacles that the students live in the suburbs. The problem with online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic is environmental incompatibility by changing old habits so that parents do various ways so that parents can provide positive behavior toward children. This paper focuses on a positive behavior model in parents as an essential part of online learning by children amid the uncertainty of the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. The method in this paper is a literature study or literature review on positive behavior with logical model analysis. The results show that the factors that influence parents' positive behavior towards children in online learning amid the COVID-19 pandemic must fulfill the elements of confidence, hope, optimism, resilience, and intelligence of parents in responding to online learning carried out by their parent’s children. In addition, social capital as an alternative strengthens parents' positive behavior towards children so that they feel comfortable with the presence of parents to accompany online learning.

Abstract

Learning media has an influence in efforts to increase student learning achievement. The selection of traditional learning media has begun to shift to modern and up-to-date learning media that are more practical, attractive, interesting, creative and innovative. This research was conducted to produce the development of writing materials and learning media for Indonesian language learning using Microsoft PowerPoint for class VII semester 2 students of SMP Negeri 2 Pegajahan. This type of development research data is in the form of qualitative data and quantitative data. The research uses the research and development (R&D) model of Borg and Gall. The purpose of this study is the compilation of a learning media product as an effort to develop writing materials. In connection with this goal, the researcher uses seven steps in developing learning media, namely analyzing the needs of teachers and students, product development with Microsoft PowerPoint, validation of media experts and material experts and language teachers Indonesia, the first phase of revision, field trials, and finally the final revision. The quality of learning media products can be known through the average obtained from the validation results from Indonesian language teachers of 95%. The average percentage of the assessment results is 87.18% with a very good category. In addition, the quality of development products can also be known through the results of excellent student feedback. The product of this research is learning materials and media designed for class VII SMP in the second semester. This product contains eight Competency Standards which are translated into seventeen Basic Competencies and contained in twelve lessons. The twelve lessons are structured and integrated with one main menu. Each media unit is arranged systematically including apperception, competency standards and basic competencies, indicators, materials, sample questions and competency tests in which there are various media that are arranged simultaneously including text, audio recordings, videos and animations. The results of this study are very relevant to the 2013 curriculum because it is in accordance with the standards of the interactive, inspiring, fun, creative, challenging and motivating learning process for students. Further research is needed to determine the effectiveness and influence of the use of this media on student achievement.

Abstract

The low interest and talent of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 065011, Medan Selayang Subdistrict, Medan City, for the 2021-2022 academic year in writing activities is caused by the absence of creativity made by educators in teaching students. For this reason, it is necessary to develop an innovative learning model that can make students more active in the process of learning to write. The learning model to be developed in this research is a collaborative learning model. The collaborative learning model is one of the "Student-Centered Learning" (SCL) models. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of the use of collaborative learning models in improving the writing skills of fifth graders at SD Negeri 065011, Medan Selayang Subdistrict, Medan City in the 2021-2022 academic year. The research method used in this research is the research & development method. The research subject of this development product is the validator. The object of research in this study is a writing learning model, namely a collaborative learning model that is implemented in fifth grade students of SD Negeri 065011, Medan Selayang District, Medan City in the 2021-2022 academic year. The instrument used to obtain research data using non-test instruments and test instruments. The results of this study indicate that the collaborative learning model is effective in improving the skills of writing descriptive text by fifth grade students of SD Negeri 065011, Medan Selayang District, Medan City in the 2021-2022 academic year, where before the process of developing the collaborative learning model was in the sufficient category and then increased to good after the process of developing cooperative learning models in class V of SD Negeri 065011, Medan Selayang District, Medan City, for the academic year 2021-2022.

Abstract

Many educators still use conventional teaching materials, namely teaching materials that are ready to use, just buy, instant, without the effort of planning, preparing, and compiling their own and less attracting children's attention in learning. So the image media is used as a development effort in learning Indonesian. This study aims to determine the quality of teaching materials based on the validation of material experts and media experts, to determine the attractiveness of teaching materials based on student responses, and to determine the average increase in student achievement based on pretest and posttest scores. This research was carried out at SDN 101938 Adolina, Perbaungan District, for the 2021-2022 academic year. This research is development research. The subjects of the study were the fifth grade students of SDN 101938 Adolina, Perbaungan District, for the academic year 2021-2022 with a total of 36 students. Data collection techniques used are tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is the percentage and the average. The results of the overall quality of teaching materials are good with a percentage of 78%. The results of the attractiveness of teaching materials based on student responses in the limited trial obtained a percentage of 87% with a very interesting category, while in the large group trial a percentage of 85% was obtained with a very attractive category. The average value of the pretest is 6.09, while the average value of the posttest is 8.44, so it can be concluded that there is an increase in the average student achievement.
