Abstract

Many techniques are available in the market to measure and analyze vibrations caused by rotating machines and the structure of the machine itself, but require expensive resources to identify the problem of damage. Generally these expensive equipment use conventional sensors such as eddy-current sensors, swing coil velocity sensors and piezoelectric transducer sensors to measure vibration. The implementation of a vibration measuring device in the form of an accelerometer sensor with a type of Micro Electro Mechanical System (MEMS) and a signal processing unit (Arduino Mega microcontroller) is used to measure vibrations that occur in small-scale horizontal type wind turbine blades. Experiments were carried out to check the accelerometer's ability to detect vibration response on wind turbine blades with the free vibration position. Then the signal in the form of the time domain will be converted into the frequency domain to get the dominant frequency value of the turbine blade, which is then analyzed to be compared with the B & K VibroPort 80 vibration meter. The experimental results show that the MEMS type accelerometer sensor can be applied to measure the free vibration conditions on wind turbine blades with an error percentage below 6%.

Abstract

The quality of the welding results is influenced by the qualified welder, the appropriate type of connection, the type of welding, and the electrode. Standard electrode AWS E 6013 with trademark Nikko Steel Welding Elektodes, NK 68 with φ 2.6 mm. The type of camp used is SNI standard 1452-2007 for 3 kg LPG tube. Specimens were subjected to tensile testing, impact toughness, hardness testing, curvature testing, microstructure with current variations of 50 A and 70 A of both types of electrodes used. Welding by SMAW method with circular welding at 3 kg of gas tube blank from JIS G 3116 SG 295 materials. From the test result will be known maximum tensile strength, impact toughness, hardness, curve strength, macro and microstructure. And by comparing the samples of SNI, non SNI and samples from both types of Nikko Steel and NK 68 electrodes, there are differences in mechanical and microstructure characteristics that will significantly affect the toughness of the welding results.

Abstract

The brake system is a device to slow down or stop the movement of the wheel automatically so that the vehicle will move slowly. This completeness in the vehicle is very important and vital because it functions as a safety for life in driving. In the process of making the Electric Car Fusena brake system has steps in the process, consists of size planning, materials used, designs realized, manufacturing brake system supporting components, assembly, installation and testing of brake systems. The Fusena Electric Car brake system use a disc-type hydraulic brake system with one brake master that can work simultaneous with dual circuit fluids (front and rear braking). The comparison of the brake pedal is changed to 3: 1, designing and recreating the caliper stand to make it more precise so that it gets maximum brake performance and is better than the system used before. Static testing of the Fusena Electric Car hydraulic brake system is done by positioning the vehicle on an inclined plane at a slope of 15 and 20 with a variable driver load of 40 kg, 50 kg, 60 kg and 70 kg. The test results are that the vehicle does not experience displacement or movement. And the results of the average dynamic test of the Brake System at a speed of 27.3 km/h with an average braking distance of 171 cm = 1.71 meters and the average deceleration time is 0.26 seconds.

Abstract

There agreement between ink companies and printing companies that is the ink company will supply printing ink according to the needs of the printing company and if there is excess ink, it will be requested. Ink returns according to company data reach 50 to 80%. The problem that arises is the problem of ink that will become junk, and the impact is inefficiency. The purpose of this study is to test the selling price unit of RP/KG ink to become RP/Sheet. The method used in this study is the calculation of BM area using Automatic Cad and is calculated using ink in gr/m2 units which is then used to be gr/sheet units and converted again to the unit price, which is Rp/sheet. The object of research is KKG instant noodles. This research resulted in the conversion of black and white price units used in this instant noodle product with units of Rp/gr indicating a more expensive price of Rp.49,806 per gram while with units of Rp/sheet of Rp17,34 per sheet. So by using units of Rp/sheet, give the ink company to estimate when sending ink so that it can be minimized from printing companies.

Abstract

Plastic is common flexible material for packaging. One of common combination multilayer material are PET-ALU FOIL-LDPE. Multiplayer packaging through some step. Last steps is bag making. Bag making was processed with sealing inner plastic material in certain position with heat. Transverse direction (TD) for horizontal seal and Machine Direction (MD) for horizontal seal. The aim to gain a good seal strength is to avoid broken while filling process. Some factors that affect seal strength are temperature, time and pressure of sealing process. This research focus on seal strength value while temperature changed. Temperature starts from 140C to 240C with interval 20C. This experiment gained two optimum temperature and seal strength for TD and MD. Seal strength TD is 31 N/mm at 180C and seal strength 34 N/15mm at 160C for MD.

Abstract

Development research focused on developing Courselab-based learning aids on the principle of Light Vehicle Engine Expertise which includes Student Books, Student Activity Sheets and Lesson Plans for grade XI SMK students. The model of development used in this research refers to the model of learning aids development of Dick & Carey which consists of three phases, namely (1) identification phase; at this stage the writing of goals and analysis of instructional learning is conducted, identifying initial behaviors and characteristics of the students, (2) development phase; at this stage the Courselab-based learning tools is developed by formulating the goals and the standard reference tests, as well as developing the strategies and the learning aids, (3) testing and evaluation phase. The developed Courselab-based learning aids has been validated by two experts with revision to obtain a result which is fit to use. The tests carried out in three stages, namely one-on-one testing, small group testing conducted at SMK Nasional Makassar to evaluate the practicality of the learning aids and limited testing conducted at SMK Darussalam Makassar to evaluate the practicality and the effectiveness of the learning aids. The research results show that the developed learning aids, after the validation, was declared valid. The learning aids is attributed practical as the students responded positively to the learning aids they used. The learning aids is considered effective as the students responded positively to the learning aids used. It has met the criteria of effectiveness, with the results: (1) student activities have met the predetermined tolerance limits, (2) the teacher activities have fulfilled the observed aspects, and (3) the student learning outcomes on the working engine principle materials have achieved completeness.

Abstract

Indonesia to be the world’s second-largest contributor of plastic waste in the oceans. Every resident in Indonesia can produce 0,52 kg/person/day of waste. Efforts to overcome the problem of waste by processing it into Pellets, which contain calories from 2,800 to 3,300 kcal/kg using the peuyeumisasi method, so that they can use for co-firing in PLTU. Trial for direct co-firing coal and RDF Pellet from Klungkung Bali, will be carry out on Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion (CFBC) boiler. The goal of study to analyze the feasibility for co-firing with SWOT analysis. The SWOT analysis questionnaire was compiled based on internal and external factors, which was carried out through the study of literature and document. After the questionnaire was compiled, the questionnaire was given to respondents who collected 10 people, selected based on factors of relevance and understanding of the issues discussed. The results of the questionnaire show the main indicators, which are divided into 2 parts, internal factors consisting of strengths, weaknesses and external factors consisting of opportunities and threats. Then implemented in the SWOT matrix, to get the best strategy and whether the decision is feasible or not. The results is feasible to be implemented in the PLTU MSW, with internal factor value of 3,03 or rounded to 3 (strong) and an external factor value of 2,6 or rounded to 3 (strong). Several strategies are designed to use the strength to take advantage of opportunities, reduce weaknesses and threats.

Abstract

The core shell structure of TiO2@SiO2@ferrite(Ni-Cu-Zn) as composite nanoparticles for magnetic photocatalyst were successfully prepared in this study. These particles were synthesized continually by the sol-gel method and they are tested for their performance using MB dye solution. The magnetic core particles used in the synthesis were (Ni-Cu-Zn) ferrite with size of 20-60 nm, while SiO2 and TiO2 layers were formed using tetraethoxysilane and tetrabutly titanate. Some characterizations and testinghavecarried out to investigate the crystal structure, magnetic properties, surface conditions and performance of these particles. The results show that the anatase crystal structure of TiO2 was obtained on the outer shell of the particle, while the magnetization value and surface area were achieved at 4.74 emu/g and 126,831 m2/g, respectively. The nanoparticles of composite size were obtained about 10 to 40 nm with the shell thickness up to 4 nm. The performance results of photodegradation was quite good for reducing MB dye up to 63.37%.
