Abstract

In the ever-evolving global dynamics, entrepreneurship plays an important role in driving economic growth and offering solutions to complex problems. However, the entrepreneurial paradigm generally still focuses on market logic and traditional business strategies, while the spiritual and theological aspects are often overlooked. The purpose of this research is to analyze the concept of theopreneurship, entrepreneurship based on faith, through Isaac's narrative in Genesis 26:1-33. This story shows how Isaac faced economic and social challenges in Gerar, including conflict, famine, and interactions with the locals, while remaining obedient to God's direction. The analysis uses the method of exegesis with a practical theological approach, to trace the principles of Christian faith-based business embodied in the narrative. The results of the study show that Isaac's success was not solely the result of human strategy, but a combination of obedience to God, diplomacy and harmonious social relations, as well as a strategy of growth and sustainability. These findings provide an applicative framework for modern entrepreneurs to integrate business faith and strategy, prioritize integrity and ethics, and manage resources wisely in the practice of theopreneurship.

Abstract

This study examines the meaning of the shepherd’s sacrifice in John 10:11–15 by highlighting the close relationship between sacrifice and relational presence. Interpretations of the statement “the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep” are often confined to a soteriological horizon, referring primarily to Jesus’ death on the cross. Through narrative and lexical exegesis, this study demonstrates that the Gospel of John constructs the meaning of sacrifice within the framework of a shepherding relationship marked by presence, mutual knowing, and faithfulness to the flock. By employing a psychological biblical interpretation approach, the shepherd–sheep metaphor is read as a depiction of a relationship that responds to existential vulnerability, in which the shepherd’s presence fosters a sense of security and relational attachment. Christological elaboration affirms that such presence constitutes an integral expression of Jesus’ identity as the Good Shepherd, rather than merely a pastoral function or strategy. The critique of the “hired hand” figure reveals that authentic shepherding is determined by the quality of relationship rather than by the continuity of function or structure alone. This study also outlines the theological and pastoral implications of understanding sacrifice as presence for contemporary church ministry

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Patanda Kadupipi tradition in the customary marriage practices of the Kambera community in East Sumba in relation to Christian teachings, and to formulate a contextually relevant concept of Christian Religious Education to guide the Christian community in responding to this tradition. This research employs a qualitative method using interviews and literature review to evaluate the Patanda Kadupipi tradition in the light of contextual Christian Religious Education (CRE). The findings indicate that the practice of cohabitation prior to church marriage blessing within the Patanda Kadupipi tradition creates a tension of values between customary traditions and Christian teachings that emphasize the sanctity of marriage. Contextual and culturally sensitive Christian Religious Education plays a crucial role in addressing this conflict through dialogical and transformational approaches. In conclusion, contextual Christian Religious Education not only embraces culture but also navigates local values in the light of the Gospel—affirming what is compatible and transforming what is contradictory—in order to foster authentic and responsible faith formation within the East Sumba community.

Abstract

The role-modeling crisis among young people motivates this study to explore how Pentecostal church leadership can effectively engage Generation Z (Gen Z), a demographic known for valuing authenticity, empathy, and relational depth. With Gen Z increasingly present in faith communities, especially among university students, the research investigates how Pentecostal leadership values align with their spiritual and emotional needs. Using a qualitative method, this study combines a literature review with in-depth interviews with six Gen Z members from a Pentecostal church in Yogyakarta. The findings reveal that Gen Z resonates deeply with Spirit-led, inclusive, adaptive, and relational leadership. Respondents emphasized the importance of empathetic leaders who are present in real life and exhibit integrity and humility. They appreciated leadership that empowers participation, respects their individuality, and communicates spiritual truths in relevant ways. The study concludes that effective Pentecostal leadership for Gen Z must move beyond traditional authority-based models to embrace relational ministry grounded in spiritual authenticity. Such an approach not only nurtures personal growth but also fosters lasting engagement and discipleship within the church
