Abstract

Indonesia, being a tropical country, is home to a wide variety of plants, one of which is the jackfruit plant (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lamk). However, the utilization of jackfruit waste, particularly the seeds, still remains limited. With the increasing demand for food and advancements in technology, there is a growing interest in transforming jackfruit seeds into flour. In order to understand the nutritional value of jackfruit seed flour, researchers have conducted a proximate analysis on the flour. This analysis involved testing the levels of protein, carbohydrates, fat, and calories in the jackfruit seed flour using experimental design. The protein content was measured using the Kjeldahl method, carbohydrates were determined using the Deference method with Soklet, and fat and calories were calculated manually. The research findings revealed that the jackfruit seed flour contained 12.19 grams of protein, 56.21 grams of carbohydrates, 1.12 grams of fat, and a moisture content of 12.4 grams. These results highlight the potential of utilizing jackfruit seeds as flour, not only to reduce waste but also due to its high nutrient content.

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease that is still the biggest problem in the world. Hypertension can cause complications for several other diseases, such as heart disease, stroke and kidney disease. According to WHO, the diagnosis of hypertension in adults is determined by at least two visits where it is higher or at 140/90 mmHg. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence hypertension. Quantitative research with analytic descriptive design using a cross sectional study approach. The research sample of clients with hypertension is 30 respondents. Based on the results of the study, the factors that cause hypertension can be classified into uncontrollable hypertension factors such as family history, gender, and age and controllable factors such as food consumption patterns, smoking behavior, obesity, and lack of physical activity. In the study it was found that 1) smoking habits by 50% which indicates that there is a possibility of hypertension can be interpreted as smoking habits as one of the triggers for hypertension. 2) Obesity is 53.3%, in this study the level of obesity does not affect the relationship to hypertension, but obesity is a factor in hypertension. 3) The stress level is 46.7% and 53.3% is not, so it does not affect the incidence of hypertension but stress is one of the factors causing hypertension. 4) In physical activity it shows a value of 53.3 which does not carry out physical activity so that this affects the incidence of hypertension.

Abstract

Incorrect eating patterns can cause an increase in blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study aims to determine the relationship between diet and blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Lamme Village, Jaya District. The research design used was an analytical survey with a cross sectional study approach. The research location was carried out in Lamme Village, Jaya District. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. The research instruments needed are a questionnaire about the identity and characteristics of the respondent, a 3x24 hour food recall form, when checking blood sugar, food pictures, the SPSS program. The results obtained are that the majority of Lamme Village residents are aged 41-67 years, this age is in the late adult and elderly category, many sufferers of non-communicable diseases such as type 2 DM suffer at this age. The occupational variable itself shows that there are relatively few people with type 2 DM in the sample compared to the history of other diseases. The most variable nutritional status of type 2 DM patients is normal nutritional status.

Abstract

One of the most common non-communicable diseases experienced by people in Indonesia is hypertension. Hypertension is a disease in which the blood pressure in the blood vessels increases chronically. This can happen because the heart works harder to pump blood to fulfill the body's need for oxygen and nutrients. If left untreated, this disease can affect the function of other organs, especially important organs such as the heart and kidneys. This study is quantitative study with cross-sectional or cross-sectional approach and also observational. From the results of bivariate analysis, the relationship between history of hypertension and the incidence of hypertension obtained a p value of 0.000 with an α value of 0.05, p≤α means that there is a relationship between hypertension history factors. The relationship between gender and the incidence of hypertension obtained a p value of 0.166 with an α value of 0.05, p≥α means there is no relationship. The bivariate relationship between physical activity and the incidence of hypertension obtained p value of 0.028 with an α value of 0.05, p≤α means there is relationship. Based on the study of factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in Gampong Baroh Village, Setia Bakti Subdistric, it can be concluded that there is relationship between history of hypertension, physical activity and salt consumption with the incidence of hypertension and there is no relationship between gender, age and smoking with the incidence of hypertension.
