Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari fisiologi tanaman karet klon PB260 untuk mendapatkan system exploitasi yang tepat untuk meningkatkan produksi sesuai dengan karakter klon. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perkebunan karet klon PB260 umur 15 tahun kebun PTPN Nusantara III Sei Putih mulai April 2014 sampai April 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan sistem eksploitasi sebagai perlakuan dan masing-masing diulang sebanyak tiga kali. Sistem ekploitasi yang digunakan, yaitu sistem sadap (P) dengan empat taraf : P1 : S/2 d3 BI-1, P2 : S/4 d3 BI-1, P3 : S/2U d3 H0-1, P4 : S/4U d3 H0-1, dan jenis stimulan (S) dengan empat taraf : S0 : Etepon 2.5%, S1 : Stimulan gas 3 x sadap per aplikasi, S2 : Stimulan gas 6 x sadap per aplikasi, S3 : Stimulan gas 9 x sadap per aplikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Sistem eksploitasi yang relative aman untuk klon PB260 adalah perlakuan sistem eksploitasi S/2 U d3 ETG /27d dan S/4U d3 ET /30d yang menghasilkan produksi (g p-1s-1) 19.27g p-1s-1 dan 18.90 g p-1s-1, dengan kadar tiol relative aman yaitu 0.4 mM.

Abstract

Salinitas menjadi salah satu ancaman bagi sistem produksi bahan pangan, termasuk kedelai. Salah satu strategi untuk mengatasi dan mengeliminasi penurunan produksi kedelai akibat meluasnya salinitas adalah merakit varietas toleran salinitas melalui persilangan. Seleksi merupakan tahap yang sangat menentukan keberhasilan tujuan pemulia dalam perakitan varietas unggul, dimana progeni yang terpilih berdasarkan mekanisme toleransi selanjutnya akan digunakan dalam perakitan varietas kedelai tahan salinitas dan berdaya hasil tinggi.Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menduga pewarisan genetik karakter morfologi hasil persilangan F2 tanaman kedelai pada cekaman salinitas. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Rumah kasa kebun percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Sumatera Utara, pada bulan Februari 2015 sampai dengan November 2015. Benih yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh benih F2 kedelai dari dua hasil persilangan, Varietas Anjasmoro (A) dan Grobogan (G) sebagai tetua betina dan varietas Grobogan yang telah mengalami beberapa tahap seleksi teruji tahan salin sebagai tetua jantan (N1, N2, N3, N4, N5) sehingga didapatkan 9 kombinasi genotipe hasil persilangan yaitu: AxN1, AxN3, AxN4, AxN5, GxN1, GxN2, GxN3, GxN4, GxN5 selanjutnya benih F2 tetua Anjasmoro, Grobogan, dan tetua N. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisa Statistik Deskriptif, diman uji kenormalan sebaran data dan frekuensi genotipe generasi F2 dilakukan untuk masing-masing karakter dilanjutkan dengan uji heritabilitas. Hasil penelitian didapat pada hasil persilangan dari keempat karakter yang kemungkinan besar dapat terwariskan adalah karakter jumlah daun dan bobot biji per tanaman pada persilangan GxN.

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum.L) is the main material in sugar industry. An effort to improve the quality of dry land for sugarcane cultivation is important. One of the effort than can be done is the additional of organic metter to the soil. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of vertical mulching techniques for soil organic matter content and soil chemistry fertility and its relationship with the vegetative growth of the ratoon sugarcane. This research was conducted at Agricultural High School Practice (STPP) Medan-Binjai KM.10 districts Sunggal Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, from May -December 2013. This study was conducted using a randomized block design non factorial with four treatments, were: horizontal mulch (M1), vertical mulch (M2), vertical mulch with Trichoderma sp. (M3), Vertical mulch mixed with cow manure (M4). The result from the research showed, that vertical mulch mixture with manure can increase the level of C-organic, N-content, and the lower of Ratio C/ N . Vertical mulching treatment mix with manure, increasing the shoot length of sugarcane 21.9%, the number of plants per clump 6.8%, the number of plants per meter 50%, wet weight 68.28% and dry weight 41.9%, compared with horizontal mulch

Abstract

Perbanyakan tanaman tin umumnya dilakukan dengan stek batang atau cabang. Pertumbuhan stek dipengaruhi oleh faktor luar dan faktor dari dalam. Faktor luar diantaranya media tanam dan faktor dalam yaitu kandungan hormon, salah satu bakteri fiksasi N2 non simbiotik yang dapat mensekresi hormon pertumbuhan tanaman yaitu bakteri Azotobacter chroococcum. Penelitian dilakukan untuk menentukan komposisi media tanam dan aplikasi Azotobacter chroococcum dalam pengembangan pembibitan stek tanaman tin (Ficus carica L.). Penelitian telah dilaksanakan di desa Gampong Raya Dagang Kecamatan Peusangan, Kabupaten Bireuen, Provinsi Aceh dari bulan November 2014 sampai dengan Juni 2015. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial, Faktor pertama yaitu media tanam (M) terdiri dari enam komposisi : (top soil + pasir + Pupuk kandang sapi), (top soil + pasir + kompos jerami C/N<20),(top soil + pasir + kompos jerami C/N>20), (top soil + pasir + zeolit 5g), (top soil + pasir + kompos jerami C/N<20 + 5g zeolit), (top soil + pasir + kompos jerami C/N>20 + 5g zeolit), Faktor kedua yaitu aplikasi bakteri Azotobacter chroococcum (A) terdiri dari : (tanpa aplikasi A.chroococcum) dan (aplikasi A.chroococcum). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi antara komposisi media tanam dan aplikasi A.chroococcum berpengaruh nyata terhadap pH media, kadar N daun dan berat kering daun, dan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang cabang, jumlah ruas,waktu munculnya tunas , karbon organik dan N total media. Komposisi media tanam top soil + pasir + kompos jerami C/N>20 + 5g zeolit + 5ml A.chroococcum dapat memberikan efek yang lebih baik terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman tin dibandingkan dengan komposisi media lain.

Abstract

Crop production in the semi-arid is limited by water shortage and less fertile soil. Conservation agriculture which is based on the principle of minimum tillage, permanent soil cover, and crop diversification has been introduced to Tanzanian local farmers for combating soil degradation and elevating food production. This study sought to explore the feasible entry point for integrating conservation agriculture into the local farms. This goal was achieved by recognizing the local farming system, identifying farm typology, and analyzing the circumstance and needs of different farm types. This study showed that conservation agriculture actually had potentials to reach different farm types. Nonetheless, the practical activities must satisfy the characteristics of each farm. While some farmers perceived hand-hoeing as the most feasible act others were fond of the use of animal-based minimum tillage equipment. Farmers rearing livestock found it difficult to leave crops residue to cover the soil while others were barely constrained. All farmers encountered one similar issue in practicing conservation agriculture: low biomass production to meet the demand of soil cover. Dealing and working with these circumstance and needs of different farm types are then essential in designing the locally appropriate conservation agriculture practices.

Abstract

The research objectives were to find out the growth responses and the results of providing water treatment and manure from buffaloes to C/N which is different from the rice plant variety. The rice was planted in a pot arranged in a greenhouse. The water treatment consisted of two treatment phases, namely irrigation with interval and continuous irrigation. The provision of manure from buffaloes consisted of without treatment, with treatment of C/N 19, 80:1 and treatment of C/N 10, 15:1. The varieties studied were Inpari 1, Inpari 13, Siramos and Siboru Tambun. The results showed that water treatment had positive influence on the plant development which was significantly seen in the height of plant and the number of plantlet and panicle. The best irrigation was indicated by the irrigation with interval. The provision of manure from buffaloes had influence on the number of plantlet per cluster which was indicated very significantly by 40 HST, significantly by 20HST, and very significantly by 40 and 60 HST; and on the number of panicle per cluster which was indicated significantly by 60 HST and very significantly by 100 HST filled grains, and on the number of empty grains per cluster, indicating positive influence.

Abstract

The growth of the rubber depends on some factors in the nursery. One of critical point was on stumping fase. After stumping fase, the number of death plants is quite high at young budding of seedling. This research used Factorial Radomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors and three replications. The Height of rootstock stumped (10, 20 and 30 cm) and the concentration of BAP (15, 30, 45 and 60 mg / 200 g Lanolin). Results of the research showed the number of life budding shoots significantly affect the interaction of stumping and BAP. The results showed that rootstock stumped 30 cm and BAP 60 g / 200 g Lanolin is the best treatment for height of budding shoots (410.67 mm) and the percentage of life budding shoots (66.67%).

Abstract

Siosar relocation Region is located in the Subdistrict Merek in Karo with an altitude between 1490 - 1562 m above sea level. With this type of soil Andisol where land is hilly and undulating with a slope of + 37.5% and the climate type D3, leasing land from the Ministry of Environment and Forests covering an area of 144.44 ha reserved for heads of household 370 victims of the eruption of Mount Sinabung, through Decree of the Minister of the Environment life and Forestry No. SK.107 / MenLHK-II / 2015. This study aimed to evaluate the characteristics of the level of production forest land suitability for the cultivation of potatoes in the Region Siosar, to analyze the remedial efforts that need to be done in improving crop productivity and to create maps of the actual land suitability and potential land suitability potato plants. The method used was a survey method. unit of land based on soil map consists of 7 units of land analysis method is the method of comparing (matching). The results showed that the level of potential land suitability for crop potato plant (Solanum tuberosum) including marginally suitable (S3) covering an area of 156.54 ha, quite suitable (S2) covering 205.25 ha and is very suitable (S1) covering an area of 52.65 ha.Keywords: Evaluation of land suitability, production forests siosar, relocation eruption of Mount Sinabung, the cultivation of potatoes, sub brands Karo.

Abstract

Sugar palm (Arenga pinnata, Merr) is the most important after the coconut because it is a versatile crop that has the potential to be developed. Sugar palm main products are produced from extracting male flower it can be made as sugar, drinks, acetic and alcohol. Other parts of the plant can be use for ingredient. Data from 2004 shows sugar palm plantation covers 5288.91 acres that are spread in 20 districts in North Sumatra. Utilization sugar palm excellent for especially extracting products can be used as feedstock for ethanol as the needs of the bioenergy development will need to be followed up. Opportunities and potential development in North Sumatra palm is huge in because ecosystems, climate and suitability of land in this area is very suitable for the sugar plant . Besides adaptable to various types of soils including degraded lands , reeds and for reforestation and forest conservation . Data in 2014 , there is the land area is temporarily not cultivated in North Sumatra tend to rise until 2013, covering an area of 296 032 ha . Another challenge than land development , are super - impose intesifikasi input technology is still minimal , improvement of production management , improved processing , marketing is still traditional , dissemination is still limited to a small proportion of farmers , and the difficulty of seeds . So, we need a shared commitment between the central government and local governments to create policies how the potential development of the sugar plant can be followed in the future. This paper reviews the prospects of development potential, especially palm acreage potential, opportunities and challenges as well as the availability of the technology in North Sumatra.

Abstract

Pertanian tumpangsari merupakan pola penanaman dua atau lebih tanaman yaitu tanaman semusim dan tanaman tahunan yang bertujuan dapat menekan populasi hama. Salah satu cara menekan populasi hama adalah dengan menggunakan musuh alami yang sebagian besar berasal dari Arthropoda. Terkait dengan hal tersebut dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) indeks keanekaragaman, kemerataan, dan kekayaan Arthropoda pada lahan pertanian tumpangsari di Kecamatan Bumiaji Kota Batu; (2) jenis Arthropoda yang berpotensi sebagai predator pada lahan pertanian tumpangsari di Kecamatan Bumiaji Kota Batu; dan (3) ada tidaknya hubungan kondisi faktor abiotik dengan jumlah spesies Arthropoda di Kecamatan Bumiaji Kota Batu. Pengambilan Arthropoda dilakukan pada lahan pertanian tumpangsari brokoli umur 4 minggu dan apel yang sedang berbunga dengan metode pitfall trap untuk pengambilan Arthropoda yang aktif di permukaan tanah dan jaring serangga untuk pengambilan Arthropoda yang aktif ditajuk tumbuhan. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Agustus hingga September 2013. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitiaan ini yaitu menggunakan indeks keanekaragaman, kemerataan, dan kekayaaan; sedangkan analisis hubungan faktor abiotik dengan jumlah spesies menggunakan regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian ditemukan jenis Arthropoda yang teridentifikasi sebagai predator sebanyak 19 spesies, Nilai indeks keanekaragaman sebesar 2,73 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang; indeks kemerataan sebesar 0,82 yang mendekati nilai 1 yang berarti memiliki kemerataan yang merata dan kondisi stabil; dan indeks kekayaan sebesar 4,72, ada hubungan antara faktor abiotik dengan jumlah spesies Arthropoda predator yaitu pada taraf signifikan R2 total sebesar 20,3% dan yang paling berpengaruh adalah suhu tanah dan kecepatan angin. Perlu dilakukan uji laboratorium Arthropoda predator hama pada tanaman brokoli dan tanaman apel.
