Abstract

Skin moisturizing gel can provide a moisturizing effect on the skin. One of the natural ingredients that can be made into gel preparations is the white peel of watermelon (Citrullus Lanatus) because it contains a lot of citrulline, vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, vitamin E, vitamin C, and protein, beta-carotene, lycopene, and water. The purpose of this study was to determine the activity of the ethanol extract of watermelon rind on increasing elasticity, sebum, and hydration in the skin of male white mice. This study used the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design method. The stages of the research were sample collection, extraction, formulation of various concentrations of moisturizing gel preparations (0, 2.5%, 5%, and 10%). Tests were carried out on the skin of male mice for 4 weeks by measuring levels of elasticity, sebum, and hydration. The results of the phytochemical screening extracts contained flavonoids, saponins, steroids, triterpenoids, and glycosides. The evaluation results showed that all formulas met good preparation parameters and did not irritate the skin. The measurement results in the fourth week of each cream preparation group showed an increase in the levels of elasticity, sebum and hydration and differed significantly from the blank group (p <0.05) and the highest increase occurred in cream with watermelon rind extract concentration 10 %. The results of this study indicate that the cream preparation of ethanol extract of watermelon rind can increase the levels of elasticity, sebum, and hydration of the skin.

Abstract

This study aims to measure cortisol levels in pregnant women who have intervened with Hydrotherapy and Progressive Muscle Relaxation to reduce anxiety in pregnant women in facing labor. This type of research uses quantitative with a quasi-experimental design, and a pretest-posttest approach with a control group [10]. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling so that a total sample of 30 respondents was obtained. Analysis of the data collected in the study was processed analytically with the T-Paired test and the Independent Test. The results of this study showed that the hydrotherapy and Progressive Muscle Relaxation group with Paired T test results worth P Value 0.017 = 0.05, meaning that there is no effect of hydrotherapy and Progressive Muscle Relaxation on cortisol levels. Hydrotherapy and Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy are effective in reducing anxiety levels and cortisol levels in primigravida pregnant women in the face of childbirth.

Abstract

Blood transfusion currently plays an important medical role in methods of reducing the number of leukocytes in component products, including reducing the number of leukocytes before storage (pre-storage leucodepletion) and reducing the number of leukocytes after storage (post storage leucodepletion). The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a comparison of hemolysis events and hematocrit quality in leucodepleted (In Line) and leucodepleted (Bedsite) clinical transfusions at the Blood Transfusion Unit at the Indonesian Red Cross in Medan City. This study was an analytic study with a cross-sectional design of 58 people who were divided into two groups, namely the group with leucodepleted in line and the group with leucodepleted bedsite, inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that the incidence of hemolysis after leucodepleted (in line) was 0% and leucodepleted (bedsite) was 0.02%, where the standard percentage of blood hemolysis was <0.8%, the occurrence of hemolysis after the production process of the two products was very small. While the hematocrit before and after leucodepleted decreased by 35.91% in leucodepleted (in line) and 33.33% in leucodepleted (bedsite). Comparison of leucodepleted (In Line) and leucodepleted (Bedsite) hemolysis events was also found. Where the incidence of leucodepleted (in line) hemolysis is not found, so the leucodepleted (in line) blood component has good quality.

Abstract

Cost Recovery Rateat the Royal Prima Medan Hospital, there was a surplus every year below 5% and even decreased in 2018 to less than 100%. The CRR surplus is still below 5% and the CRR decline is related to costs, tariffs and utilization. This study aims to analyze tariffs, costs and utilization in increasing the Cost Recovery Rate (CRR) at RSU Royal Prima Medan. This type of research is quantitative and qualitative research is descriptive analytic. The population and sample were the Director, Director of Medical Services, Head of Finance Subdivision, Head of Accounting and Marketing Subdivision at RSU Royal Prima Medan, totaling 5 informants. Data collection with primary and secondary data and data analyzed by data reduction, data display and data verification. The results of the study show that there is a change in the Cost Recovery Rate (CRR) every year, how to determine service product rates at RSU Royal Prima Medan and compare them to rates at competing hospitals in Medan, the number of sick people totaling 4222 people was only about 53 people who came out dead for various reasons, not because of the disease they suffered when they entered and the strategy carried out by RSU Royal Prima Medan in increasing CRR is to carry out promotions for several superior service products. It is recommended that because this research is limited to using only quantitative descriptive methods with a qualitative approach, the authors suggest that the leadership can re-examine the success of this research by opening other researchers using different methodologies and employees need to increase motivation and quality of service from year to year so as to make RSU Royal Prima Medan is indeed a hope for the wider community.

Abstract

Hypertension is still a health problem in the elderly group. As a result of rapid development and a prosperous standard of living and health services can increase life expectancy, so that the number of elderly people increases every year. This increase in age is often followed by an increase in degenerative diseases and other health problems in this group. Psychological interventions are believed to be able to change a person's behavior towards a better direction in disease control and prevention. This study measures the impact of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions on self-care management of hypertensive patients. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest and control group design. The research subjects were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group (35 people) and the intervention group (35 people). control group (35 people). The research was conducted at the Royal Prima Marelan Hospital in 2022. Data were analyzed using the t-dependent test (α = 0.05).The results showed that in the intervention group there were differences in self-care management of hypertensive patients before and after being given CBT which included diet (p <0.001; 95% CI -6.663-(-4.796)), physical activity (p<0.001; 95 %CI -5.344-(-4.370)), and attitude (p=<0.001; 95%CI -13.086-(-10.115)). In the control group, there was no difference in self-care management of hypertensive patients, including diet n (p= 0.083; 95% CI -0.183-0.012), physical activity (p= 0.058; 95% CI- 0.291-0.005), and attitude T2DM patients (p = 0.094; 95% CI -0.225-0.003). This means that CBT is effective in improving self-care management of Hypertension patients. It is suggested to the Management of Royal Prima Marelan Hospital to implement routine physical activities such as hypertension gymnastics in order to prevent hypertension among young people.

Abstract

A good work program is needed by using the WISN (Workload Indicators of Staff Needing) method, which helps see the workload given to and received by medical workers in health facilities. This study aims to determine the appropriate number of employees using the WISN (Workload Indicators of Staff Needing) method to reduce the workload in the hospital's medical rehabilitation polyclinic. This research is a descriptive study with quantitative data analysis conducted at the H. Abdul Manan Simatupang Hospital in 2021. The data taken is medical record data on the total number of patient visits at the medical rehabilitation polyclinic and staffing data for the rehabilitation polyclinic. H. Abdul Manan Simatupang Kisaran Hospital. We found a relatively high number of visits at the Medical Rehabilitation Polyclinic; the workforce data obtained totaled four employees who handled patients directly. The study's results found that the available work time was not directly proportional to the existing standard workload, where the available work time is 135,360 minutes per year while the Standard Workload is 347,424 minutes per year. The workload in the Medical Rehabilitation Polyclinic is too high, and we can obtain the cause from the number of operational staff on duty.
