Abstract

At the end of 2019, an outbreak of a respiratory infection occurred in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, People's Republic of China. The disease was later named Coronavirus disease19/COVID-19, becoming a global pandemic. The unpreparedness of the government and health facilities in dealing with the presence of this pandemic exposed problems in the health care system in various parts of the world, namely equality of access to health. Problems in the health care system also affect Indonesia. Apart from the COVID-10 pandemic, in Indonesia research on the equivalence of the distribution of hospital beds and the health care system as a whole has never been conducted or at least has not been published. This research oversight does not only occur in Indonesia, not a single ASEAN member country has ever published research on the equality of the distribution of hospital beds. This research is a descriptive study that aims to assess the equivalence of the distribution of hospital beds in the province of North Sumatra. Almost all regencies/cities in North Sumatra have hospitals, except for Gunungsitoli City, with the majority of hospitals being in Medan City.

Abstract

In recent years there has been an increase in the prevalence of viral infections worldwide with the outbreak of the Coronavirus Disease. Various attempts have been made to find new drugs and vaccines against the viruses that cause it, but there are no effective preventive and curative drugs yet, so boosting the immune system is one of the most important things to do. One of the natural ingredients that are believed to increase the body's immunity is Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), but it still needs more intense research. In addition to the use of natural ingredients, exercise is also important to maintain and increase immunity. One indicator that is sensitive to impaired immune response is leukocytes. This study aims to see the effect of giving VCO and physical exercise on immune function by measuring leukocyte levels. This is an experimental study with a randomized control group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 12 people who were divided into two groups. During the exercise with an intensity of 70-80% in two weeks with a frequency of three times a week, the experimental group was given 15 ml of VCO every day while the control group was given a placebo. Leukocyte levels were measured before and after treatment. Leukocyte levels in the control group increased significantly while the experimental group decreased insignificantly. Giving virgin coconut oil in this study significantly reduced leukocyte levels.

Abstract

WHO in 2020, said some 295,000 women worldwide lost their lives during and after pregnancy and childbirth. Africa, sub-Saharan and South Asia account for around 86% of all maternal deaths worldwide. MMR in Indonesia in 2020 is 230 per 100,000 live births. Causes of maternal death are bleeding, hypertension, infection, prolonged labour, abortion, CED and anemia (Hb <11gr). The prevalence of anemia in pregnant and lactating women in Indonesia is 48.9%. The impact of anemia on pregnant women will occur during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. Knowing the effectiveness of giving beetroot juice and honey to increase hemoglobin levels in nursing mothers. Quasy Experiment with Pretest Posttest With Control Group Design The sample in this study were lactating mothers with anemia who were registered at the KIA PMB Samsa Qomariyah register in May-October 2022 as many as 40 people, the sampling technique was total sampling. The average HB level in the intervention group was 10.175 gr/dl pretest and 10.865 gr/dl posttest. The average HB level in the control group was 11.250 gr/dl pretest and 11.275 gr/dl posttest. Beetroot juice and honey are effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in lactating mothers with a p.value of 0.000 (p <0.005). Beetroot juice and honey are effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in nursing mothers. It is expected that breastfeeding mothers consume vegetables and fruit that contain lots of iron and vitamin C to increase HB levels and prevent anemia.

Abstract

Determining the tariff for radiology examination services is a very important decision, because it can affect the profitability of a hospital. Activity Based Costing is a system of accumulating costs and charging costs to products using various cost drivers by tracing the costs of each activity and then tracing the costs from activities to products. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the activity based costing method as an alternative to CT Thorax service rates in the radiology unit at RSU Royal Prima Medan. The data analysis technique used in this study is a non-statistical quantitative analysis technique. Data in the form of numbers obtained from RSU Royal Prima Medan which contains the calculations are then analyzed using the ABC (Activity Based Costing) Implementation theory. The results showed that the unit cost for CT Thorax examination in the radiology unit of RSU Royal Prima Medan using the activity based costing method was Rp. 1,646,693. The real cost of a CT Thorax examination at the radiology unit of the Royal Prima Medan General Hospital is Rp. 1,897,500. There is a difference in the cost of CT Thorax examination at the radiology unit of RSU Royal Prima Medan with unit costs using the activity based costing method and using real cost calculations at RSU Royal Prima Medan with a cost difference of Rp.250,809. Abstract

Low birth weight babies (LBW) are babies with a birth weight of less than 2500 grams regardless of gestational age. Birth weight is the weight of a baby who is weighed within 1 (one) hour after birth (Amin & Hardhi, 2016). LBW can occur because the gestational age is less than normal, namely 37 weeks and the baby's weight is lower than babies in general (Ministry of Health, 2018). To determine the effect of nesting on the behavior of low birth weight newborns at the Medi Medika Clinic, Tangerang Regency. Using quai experimental design with one group pretest posttest involving one group of subjects. The research sample was 30 low birth weight newborns who were treated at the Medi Medika Clinic in Tangerang Regency and were selected by purposive sampling technique. Research data were analyzed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant effect of the use of nesting on the behavior of low birth weight newborns (p = 0.000). The use of nesting as a form of developmental care can facilitate the achievement of better rest (which is characterized by the regularity of physiological functions and the achievement of quiet sleep behavior), so it needs to be implemented in the care of low birth weight newborns at the Medi Medika Clinic, Tangerang Regency. There is a significant effect of the use of nesting on the behavior of low birth weight newborns. Pregnant women are advised to seek more information regarding pregnancy care through health workers, especially midwives, posyandu officers, the mass media and others, so they can recognize the low risk of newborns.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the formula of anti-aging cream using lemongrass leaf extract. The treatment by giving respondents lemongrass leaf extract and using moisture, evenness, pore, spot, and wrinkle as parameters. Human skin provides protection on the surface of the body against the influence of the surrounding environment. Skin can experience aging, especially in areas that are often exposed to direct sunlight such as the face, neck, upper arms, and hands. Aging is a process experienced by humans in their 30s whose functions in the human body are decreasing, for example, thinning skin, wrinkles, rough skin, and dark spots on the face. Treatment to prevent aging of the skin by using an antioxidant product such as flavonoids because it has the function of preventing or neutralizing free radicals. In Indonesia, several species of plants can be found that function as food and cosmetic ingredients. The lemongrass leaf extract which contains antiaging are Alkaloids, Flavonoids, and Tannins. The data were analysed by using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method to determine homogeneity and normality. Then, if the data is normal, it is continued to be analysed using the One-Way ANOVA method to determine the average difference between groups. There is a difference between treatments, and it is continued with the Post-hoc Tukey HSD test. The higher the concentration of extract used, the greater the anti-aging productivity formed. It is concluded, the best anti-aging effect is a concentration of 9% with increase in moisture, evenness, pore reduction, reducing spots and wrinkles.

Abstract

Health promotion through reproductive health education can help increase adolescent girls’ knowledge about the impact of early marriage. Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest number of early marriages. Selection of effective health education media is an urgency as an effort to reduce the number of early marriages. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of health education using the podcast and flipchart methods. This study used a quasi-experimental with non-equivalent control group design which was carried out from December 2021 to January 2022 on 106 adolescent girls in Cibatur Keusik Village, Lebak Regency. Research respondents were divided into podcast groups and flipchart groups. In the podcast group, adolescent girls received health education using the audio method from the podcast while the flipchart group received the visual method from the flipchart. The analysis used in this study is univariate and bivariate. The results showed that the average value of the podcast group (32.49) was lower than the flipchart group (69.25). Statistically, it can be concluded that health education using the flipchart method is more effective than the podcast method (p=0.000; t=-6.21; df=104). Health education using the flipchart method is more effective than the podcast method. The method can be used by health promoters to improve adolescents' understanding of the impact of early marriage.
