Abstract

Rhizophora mucronata is mangrove that has called propagul fruit type. The part that extends to propagul (hypokotil) served is as a food reserve while the Propagul germinate and become seedlings. The type of vivipari propagul is propagul which has germinated before falling from the tree. The Rhizophoraceae propagul has germinated in the fruit, bugles and expands from the fruit when the fruit is still above the mother tree. The purpose of this study was to determine the success rate at nurseries and the best cutting rate of propagul. This research was carried out with a completely randomized design method (CRD) with 4 treatments that is; (P0) without propagul, (P1) propagul cutting 25%, (P2) propagul cutting 50%, (P3) propagul cutting 75%, with triplicate each experiment consisting of 10 plants, with the total of 120 units of plants used. Based on the results of the research, propagul cutting did not affect the success nursery rate by showing the yield of 100% seedlings, the best propagul cutting presentage is 25% with a growth rate of 6.91 cm.

Abstract

In visual way, distinguishing mangrove land cover located in Kembung river Bengkalis is hard to do especially if it is using far remote sensing technology. However by applying spectral analyze method, this problem is possibly fixed. It started by taking area sample (training area) 3x3 pixels as many as 10 areas for each classes of land cover, then the result obtained is analyzed by statistical variability test before continued to DMRT test to measure the ability of separation by using separability. Based on the analysis of variability to the spectral value of sattelite vision Sentinel-2A that F-hit (17,626) higher than F-tab (1,98), it showed the treatment has significant effect. The result of DMRT test on reflectancy value of spectral sattelite vision sentinel-2A can be classified into five spectral groups and DMRT test to the mangrove land cover consisted of four groups. Meanwhile, based on separability test there are 36 class pairs, 32 (90,9%) can be separated each way, while 4 (9,1%) can not be separated.

Abstract

Alstonia scholaris contains flavonoids, tannins, triterpenoids, resins and alkaloids. Alkaloid compounds, tannins and flavonoids of plant origin can inhibit weed growth. Alkaloid compounds, tannins and flavonoids work by suppressing the hormone auxin and the hormone gibberelin so that weed growth is inhibited. This study aims to determine the potential of Alstonia scholaris leaves in inhibiting the growth of weed Cyperus rotundus. The inhibition of Cyperus rotundus growth can be seen from changes in leaf color/population phytotoxicity, number of leaves, and height of Cyperus rotundus. The research used Cyperus rotundus leaves which were mashed into flour and then extracted by macerating with alcohol 96% . The results of the extract of Cyperus rotundus leaf flour consisting of a concentration of 0 g/l (control), 25 g/l, 50 g/l, 75 g/l, and 100 g/l were applied to Cyperus rotundus. Pure extracts are given with different concentrations to determine the concentration that is effective in suppressing the growth of Cyperus rotundus. Vegetable herbicides of Cyperus rotundus leaves with a concentration of 50 g/l became the solution to control the enchanted grass weeds that are environmentally friendly without using synthetic herbicides. With the results of phytotoxicity P2= 40.00%, wet weight P2= 1.53 g, and dry weight P2= 0.91 g.
