Abstract

Social isolation and loneliness among the elderly have become significant global issues, negatively impacting their mental and physical health. With the advancement of technology and the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) systems, various potential solutions can be utilized to address these challenges. This study explores the possible involvement of AI in enhancing elderly social interactions, focusing on technologies that help them stay connected with family, friends, and their social environment. This research employs a qualitative approach, including a literature analysis of AI applications that can support elderly social interaction. The findings reveal that AI systems such as social robots, virtual assistants, and chatbot applications hold great potential in reducing loneliness and increasing social connectivity among the elderly. These technologies not only facilitate more frequent social interactions but also provide emotional and cognitive support, ultimately improving their quality of life. Although AI systems offer numerous benefits, challenges such as dependence on technology, initial resistance from the elderly, and limitations in non-verbal communication remain obstacles that need to be addressed. This study concludes that AI involvement in supporting elderly social interactions has great potential. However, its implementation must consider accessibility, comfort, and proper training to ensure its effectiveness in reducing social isolation.

Abstract

Emotional health and psychological well-being are essential considerations in the design of private spaces, particularly bedrooms. A bedroom serves not only as a place for rest but also as a space for deep personal expression. This study explores the integration of biophilic design elements in bedrooms as a strategy to support holistic art therapy focused on emotional healing. Art therapy is viewed as a holistic approach that utilizes creative expression as a means of psychological recovery. In this context, biophilic design contributes by creating a natural and calming atmosphere that fosters emotional balance. This research employs a qualitative approach through literature review and interior design analysis, incorporating natural elements such as daylight, plants, natural textures, and organic colors. The findings indicate that integrating biophilic design into bedrooms can create environments that effectively support art therapy activities, enhance relaxation, and strengthen the emotional connection between individuals and their personal space. These insights open new opportunities for developing interior design strategies that promote psychological healing and holistic well-being through a more emotionally responsive design approach.

Abstract

Yogyakarta has various arts and cultural activities and is dubbed as the city of arts and culture. Various arts exist in this city, from fine arts, music, performing arts, and other arts. One other form of art in the city of Yogyakarta is graffiti art. Historically, the basic form of graffiti itself is a tag or tagging. Where every graffiti artist in Yogyakarta also has tagging as their own identity. However, graffiti artists in Yogyakarta have a problem, namely they do not realize the potential for their tagging documentation to be archived. Where the archives of this tagging can be accessed at any time and used as a reference. In addition, in Indonesia itself there are still very few books that discuss graffiti and tagging, especially tagging graffiti artists in Yogyakarta where archiving books are very important. To overcome this problem, a visual book is designed that contains a collection of tagging archives from graffiti artists in Yogyakarta. The design of this visual book itself not only displays the tagging of each graffiti artist in Yogyakarta. But also discusses changes in tagging style, background and references from each graffiti artist. The tagging discussed is tagging made by graffiti artists in Yogyakarta who are still actively doing graffiti from 2000 to 2020. In the process, the author uses a layout with a Mondrian layout pattern so that the contents of the book are interesting to read. The author uses this Mondrian layout pattern as a basic form of arranging illustrations (photos) and text on each page of the book so that it looks harmonious and balanced. In addition, the author uses Serif and Sans Serif fonts with the consideration that this book can provide reading comfort for its readers and can be read clearly.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to examine the photography class learning process implemented by GSNP EDUPRO (Galeri Nila Photoworks Education Program) through a government assistance program. The study was conducted using a field research approach with qualitative research methods. Data collection was performed through direct observation and documentation of learning activities. The research findings indicate that the process of sharing photography knowledge at GSNP EDUPRO is implemented through a structured mentoring method by photography experts who possess competency certificates in their field. The curriculum encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects of photography, ranging from photography history, compositional fundamentals, exposure triangle, lighting techniques, photography occupational health and safety, digital image processing, to unique selling propositions. The learning process is conducted directly through field practice in various locations with diverse lighting conditions and subjects. Mentors provide intensive guidance throughout the learning process using personalized approaches tailored to the needs and comprehension levels of individual participants. Progress evaluations are conducted periodically to ensure the achievement of expected competency standards. The learning program concludes with a standardized photography competency examination through collaboration with the Photography Competency Certification Board of Indonesia (LESKOFI), providing added value in the form of official certification for participants who successfully complete the program. This research concludes that the photography education implemented by GSNP EDUPRO through the government assistance program has effectively transferred photography knowledge and skills, with success measured by participants' passing rates in the LESKOFI competency certification examination.
