Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between the television shows that children saw on imitation behavior of children aged 4-5 years in Pojok, Mojogedang, Karanganyar. The approach in this study uses a quantitative approach with a type of correlation. This research was conducted in December 2018 by using a sample of 77 children and parents in Pojok, Mojogedang, Karanganyar. Retrieval of data from this study using questionnaires distributed to parents. The results of the hypothesis test of the Spearman Rho correlation show that the significance value is 0,000 <0.05 which means the hypothesis is accepted, namely the relationship of television shows to the imitation behavior of children aged 4-5 years in Pojok, Mojogedang, Karanganyar. The results of the Spearman Rho Hypothesis Test also show a correlation coefficient of 0.657 which means television shows had a strong influence on the imitation behavior of children. The result of the data show that the higher the television show that the children sees, the higher the imitation behavior that is raised, the lower the television show that the children sees, the lower the imitation behavior that is raised. The conclusion of this study is that television shows become models for children’s imitation behavior

Abstract

This training is carried out to provide knowledge and skills to PAUD teachers in implementing English language learning for early childhood. The subjects of the training were 30 Kindergarten (Kindergarten) and PAUD teachers of Bendosari kindergarten. The training is carried out in 3 stages, namely: (1) strengthening of materials related to the TPR (Total Physical Response) method in early childhood learning; (2) implementation of the TPR (Total Physical Response) method in learning aged children; and (3) evaluation of the material for the TPR (Total Physical Response) method in learning children. Training on the application of the TPR (Total Physical Response) method in learning English for early childhood can improve the understanding, abilities and skills of Kindergarten and PAUD teachers in the District, Sukoharjo Regency in compiling, developing, and implementing English learning using the TPR (Total Physical Response) method. Where the deepening of the material for each training stage reaches 90%. This is evidenced by the results of practice and the implications of each material. Kindergarten and PAUD teachers in Bendosari Subdistrict, Sukoharjo Regency can develop themes and materials, create and use media, choose English vocabulary according to themes and materials, and apply English learning using the TPR (Total Physical Response) method.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the ability of pre-reading by using bulletin boards for children aged 5-6 years. This research was a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings and four stages are carried out, namely planning, implementing the action, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this study were children aged 5-6 years at TK Khadijah III Pucung for the 2018/2019 academic year with 14 children. Data collection techniques using observation data, interviews, tests and documentation. The validity test of the data through triangulation of sources and triangulation of techniques. The data analysis technique used is qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis. The results of this classroom action research indicate an increase the pre-reading ability of each cycle. The pre-action completeness percentage obtained a result of 35% with 5 children who got a complete score. In the first cycle it increased by a percentage of 57% or 8 children who got a complete score, and in the second cycle it increased by a percentage of 86% or 12 children who got it. Based on the description above, the results of classroom action research carried out in two cycles can be concluded that bulletin board media can improve the pre-reading ability of group B at TK Khadijah III Pucung Academic Year 2018/2019.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find the effectiveness of pictures and realia usage towards the listening capability of children at 4-to-5 year old. This research uses comparative method to compare two groups that is pictures and realia as the instructional media. Meanwhile, the variable on this research is the listening capability of the children. The population of this research is all students of Gugus 9 Bugenvil Kindergarten School Surakarta grade A. The chosen samples are Berita Hidup Kindergarten School, Indriyasana Kindergarten School, Paramayoga Kindergarten School, and Animah Kindergarten School. They are chosen by using the cluster random sampling method. The data is collected through performances, interview, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher uses One Way ANOVA. The result of this research shows that there is no difference between the listening capabilities of children at 4-to-5 year old based on the pictures and realia usage. The use of instructional media either pictures or realia must considers the number of the children in a class and also the size of the instructional media itself, therefore it can be effective.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine problems related to Early Childhood Education (ECE) Management. It uses a qualitative descriptive approach with case studies. Samples were selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques, while interviews, observation, and documentation were used in data collection. From the data analysis techniques with an independent sample t-test, an average pretest of the experimental group was 5.45 and post-test 9.60. The data analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 based on decision making with ????> 0.05. The samples for the study were administrative officers and the teachers in Warga Kindergarten and Aulia Kindergarten at Surakarta for the experimental and control group. The results of the analysis indicate that there are ECE management problems lessens the institutions’ quality. Also, the management identification was needed to improve ECE management. This is because the level of significance before directions was greater than 0.05 and smaller than 0.05 after the direction. Therefore, the values before and after the directives have significant differences.
