Abstract

This article presents a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) that synthesizes empirical studies on the integration of religious ethics, teacher competence, and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced deep learning within formal education. Guided by the PRISMA 2020 protocol, the review draws on searches conducted in Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. Inclusion criteria focused on empirical studies involving teachers or educators that examined AI use in relation to ethical or religious values, teacher competence, and 21st-century skills. From 1,204 initial records, 18 studies met the eligibility criteria and were analyzed descriptively and thematically. The findings reveal a shift in teacher competence from purely technical AI skills toward a holistic framework encompassing pedagogical, ethical, and human-centered dimensions, including awareness of AI dependency risks and their implications for 21st-century skills. Religious ethics, although still limited in their explicit integration, function primarily as a normative value framework that emphasizes moral responsibility, justice, and human dignity in the use of AI. This review highlights the need for an integrative model linking religious ethics, teacher competence, and AI-enhanced deep learning to inform educational policy, curriculum development, and teacher professional training. Such integration ensures that AI in education not only improves learning efficiency but also strengthens character formation and learners’ 21st-century skills. The article contributes by (1) providing a systematic and up-to-date mapping of empirical research at the intersection of ethics, teacher competence, and AI-based learning; (2) proposing an integrative conceptual model explaining how ethical values and teacher competence jointly mediate the pedagogical impact of AI; and (3) identifying future research directions emphasizing value-based, human-centered, and ethically responsible AI implementation in education.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the importance of agent contracts in exchange in trading transactions in the digital age. This study uses a qualitative approach through literature studies as a research method, with data sources consisting of publications and literature references. The type of data used is descriptive data in the form of text and documents taken from published sources. Data is collected by tracing and studying the source of those libraries, while analytical descriptive analysis is used to process the data. The results of the study show that agent contracts in exchange are one type of contract that can be accepted as a sharia solution in trade transactions in the digital era, because it makes it possible to avoid trade transactions that fall into the elements of riba and gharar. An agent-for-reward contract is defined as a power of attorney contract in which a person authorizes another person to perform a specific job or transaction in exchange or an agreed wage. Based on this concept, the existence of rewards or wages related to the payment process in transactions or as compensation for certain work is considered valid in Islamic economics, and does not fall under the category of usury, but is considered a legitimate wage (salary).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study the role of sharia maqashid in regulating financial transactions and achieving economic justice, through an analysis of the basics of maqashid that are the foundation of the Islamic financial system, as well as explaining their impact on the protection of rights, achieving a balance between individual interests and public interests, and reducing the practice of injustice and economic exploitation. This study uses an analytical descriptive method, with the application of an inductive approach to trace sharia texts and the opinions of scholars, as well as a comparative approach to highlight the differences between maqashid's view of Islamic economics and some conventional economic views. This study concludes that sharia maqashid, especially in safeguarding wealth, realizing justice, and eliminating difficulties, is a comprehensive ethical and legislative framework that contributes to the development of a fair and sustainable financial system, as well as being able to face contemporary economic challenges. The authenticity of this research lies in the relationship between maqashid theory and the practical application of modern financial transactions, which strengthen economic justice and inclusive development.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the extent of the suitability of the Indonesian government's policy in managing hajj funds based on Law Number 34 of 2014 according to the principles of sharia economics and sharia maqashid, especially the principle of maintenance and achievement of the benefits of the ummah. Methodology: This study uses a legal-normative approach with a descriptive qualitative analysis method. Data was obtained through a study of laws and regulations related to the management of hajj funds, DSN-MUI fatwas, scientific literature, as well as financial and performance reports of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) for the period 2024 2025. The analysis was carried out by integrating a positive sharia perspective and sharia maqashid. Results: The results of the study show that Law Number 34 of 2014 provides a strong legal basis for the management of hajj funds based on sharia principles, accountability, and transparency. However, in practice, there is still a gap between formal compliance with sharia and the achievement of substantive goals of sharia maqashid, particularly in the aspects of public transparency, increased economic benefits, and equitable distribution of the social impact of hajj investments. Application/Authenticity/Value: This research makes a conceptual contribution by combining positive legal analysis and "maqashid sharia" in the context of public financial management of the ummah. It is hoped that the results of this research will be the basis for the formulation of policies that are more benefit-oriented, increase public trust, and strengthen sustainable governance for hajj funds.

Abstract

The verdict of the Kepahiang Religious Court, Case Number 01/Pdt.G.S/2021/PA.Kph, reflects a tension between the formalistic application of positive law and the values of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, which emphasize justice and preventive benefit in resolving Islamic economic disputes. This study aims to analyze the legal considerations and the construction of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah in a murābaḥah contract default case by examining the consistency between the judge’s legal reasoning and the principles of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, namely ḥifẓ al-māl (protection of wealth), ḥifẓ al-‘aqd (protection of contract), and ḥifẓ al-‘adl (protection of justice). Employing a normative-juridical method with a case-conceptual approach and content analysis of the Compilation of Sharia Economic Law (KHES), the Indonesian Civil Code (KUHPerdata), and DSN-MUI Fatwas, the study finds that the judge adopted systematic and grammatical interpretation through legal logic techniques such as subsumption, exclusion, derogation, and non-contradiction. However, the ruling remains curative and mechanistic in nature, as it primarily focuses on punitive measures for contractual breach. These findings reveal an epistemic disparity between the formal rationality of positive law and the preventive, benefit-oriented rationality of sharīʿah. This research contributes by proposing a maqāṣidic legal reasoning framework as an integrative paradigm to reconcile the rationality of positive law with the ethical rationality of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah in the practice of Islamic economic adjudication in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction and development of children's potential at the elementary school level play a crucial role in shaping students' academic, social, emotional, and moral development. However, studies addressing the development of children's potential in primary education tend to focus more on measurable learning outcomes and formal assessments, while research on school strategies, particularly in the context of integrated Islamic elementary schools, remains relatively limited. This study aims to examine the strategies employed by integrated Islamic elementary schools in identifying and developing children's potential from an early age, as well as to identify the factors that support and hinder the implementation of these strategies. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design conducted at one of the integrated Islamic elementary schools in Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the school principal and class teachers, observation of learning activities, and analysis of school documentation. The data obtained were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and main themes related to the strategies for recognizing and developing children's potential. The findings of this study show that the school implements a holistic and sustainable approach to identifying children's potential through systematic observation, differentiated learning, and intensive communication with parents. The development of both academic and non academic potential is integrated into learning activities, extracurricular activities, and character-building practices that align with the values of integrated Islamic education. Teachers' commitment, school management support, and parental involvement are key supporting factors, while limited time and the diversity of students' characteristics present challenges in the implementation of these strategies. Theoretically, this research enriches the study of school strategies in developing children's potential in primary education. Practically, the findings of this study can serve as a reference for elementary schools, particularly integrated Islamic schools, in designing contextual and sustainable strategies for developing children's potential.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Islamic paradigm of the essence of science, examine the concept of Islamic Knowledge in Kuntowijoyo's thought, and explain its relevance in the context of modern Islamic education. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with the library research method, through a critical analysis of Kuntowijoyo's works and supporting literature related to Islamic epistemology and the integration of knowledge. The results of the study show that the Islamic paradigm is rooted in the principle of monotheism, which places revelation as the main source of truth and integrates reason ('aql), revelation (naql), and fitrah as the basis of Islamic epistemology. Kuntowijoyo through the concept of Islamic Knowledge offers an alternative paradigm to the Islamization of knowledge, by making Islamic values objective, rational, and applicable in the social realm. This concept is realized through Prophetic Social Science which is based on three main pillars: humanization, liberation, and transcendence. In the context of Islamic education, Islamic Scholarship has implications for the design of an integrative curriculum and learning methods between revelation and rationality, so as to be able to produce knowledgeable, moral, and prophetic awareness of kamil people. This research contributes to strengthening the integralistic scientific paradigm and provides practical direction for the development of holistic and transformative Islamic education.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in education globally, including in Indonesia, by offering solutions to improve teaching, learning, and education management. This study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of AI in Indonesian education through the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach combined with bibliometric analysis. This study identifies the various applications of AI used in Indonesian education, the challenges faced in their implementation, and the direction of research and policy development that can strengthen the integration of AI in the education sector. Based on an analysis of 74 articles published between 2022 and 2026, key findings show that generative AI, such as ChatGPT, is becoming one of the most widely applied technologies in higher education, particularly in language learning and academic writing. The main challenges faced are infrastructure gaps, the digital readiness of teachers, and policies that are not comprehensive. Future research is suggested to focus on national policy development, practice-based training for teachers, and the development of more adaptive and inclusive AI technologies. This study provides important insights for policymakers and education practitioners in designing more effective AI adoption strategies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze how the value of tabayyun in QS. al-Hujurāt [49]:6 can be actualized as an ethical framework for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by students in an academic context. Methodology: This study employed a qualitative, library-based research approach. Data were obtained from tafsir books, scientific journals, and previous research relevant to the use of Artificial Intelligence by students. The analysis was conducted using a Living Qur'an approach, examining how the value of tabayyun (reconciliation) in Surah al-Hujurāt [49]:6 is reflected in the phenomenon of AI use among students, based on literature data. Results: The findings indicate that the principle of tabayyun (reconciliation) has profound relevance as an ethical foundation for the use of AI, particularly in fostering critical thinking, information verification, and intellectual responsibility. However, in contemporary academic practice, this value is often neglected due to technological dependence, and a lack of values-based digital literacy. AI, while beneficial, has the potential to erode cognitive autonomy and exacerbate disinformation if not governed by moral principles such as tabayyun (reconciliation). Applications/Originality/Value: This research provides an original contribution through a contextual reinterpretation of QS. al-Hujurāt [49]:6 within the discourse of AI ethics. The findings not only enrich the Living Qur'an paradigm in the digital era but also offer a theoretical basis for the development of ethical guidelines, an Islamic-values-based digital literacy curriculum, and academic policies responsive to the challenges of generative technology in higher education.

Abstract

The phenomenon of moral degradation and disconnection between ethical knowledge and social behavior is a crucial obstacle to Indonesia's vision 2045. This gap often manifests itself in "moral paralysis" in which individuals fail to convert knowledge into ethical action. This research aims to reconstruct the paradigm of Qur'an-based moral education through the integration of the dimensions of moral knowing, feeling, and action in the perspective of Maqasid Al-Qur'an. Using a qualitative-descriptive method with a thematic interpretation approach (maudhu'i) and asrar al-tasyri' analysis, this study synthesizes Thomas Lickona's character trilogy with Islamic transcendental values. The results of the study formulated three character pillar transformations: 1) The pillar of knowing through tafakkur and tadabbur to form Al-Furqan's ability to ward off cognitive distortion (deceived by cleverness); 2) The pillar of feeling through tazkiyatun nafs as a mechanism of mental resilience in managing moral injury) to achieve inner integrity (qolbun salim); and 3) The pillar of action through the habit of charity to overcome the phenomenon of "reluctant compliance" towards sedentary autonomous actions (malakah). The novelty of this research lies in the use of Maqasid Al Qur'an as an integrative framework that bridges modern moral psychology with the goal of sharia to maintain the benefit of reason (hifz al-'aql), soul (hifz al-nafs), and religion (hifz al din). This conceptual model offers a strategic foundation for educators to build a character education ecosystem that is adaptive to the disruptions of the times in order to produce human resources with integrity to welcome the Golden Indonesia 2045.
