Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the impact of Cost Leadership, Differentiation, Environmental Performance, and Environmental Costs on Financial Distress in Energy and Basic Materials sectors listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2021-2024. These sectors face unique challenges combining Economic Volatility with Substantial Environmental Responsibilities.Methodology: By using Purposive Sampling, 172 firm-year observations from 43 companies were analyzed through Multiple Linear Regression with the Grover Model, which demonstrates superior accuracy compared to traditional Financial Distress prediction models. Results: Results reveal that Cost Leadership (β=0.584, p<0.001) and Differentiation (β=3.748, p<0.001) significantly increase G-Score, which reduce Financial Distress risk, with Differentiation exhibiting dominant influence. Conversely, Environmental Performance (β=0.008, p=0.849) and Environmental Costs (β=-0.088, p=0.834) demonstrate statistically insignificant effects on short-term financial health. The model collectively explains 60.8% of Financial Distress variance (Adjusted R²=0.608).Applications/Originality/Value: This research provides original contribution by integrating Business Strategy and Environmental Responsibility variables, addressing critical gaps in existing literature that predominantly examines these factors separately in Indonesian emerging market context.

Abstract

Plastic waste from conventional bottled water remains a major environmental challenge, particularly in emerging markets where trust in tap water is low and single-use plastic dominates daily consumption. Although sustainable alternatives are increasingly available, little is known about the behavioral mechanisms driving consumer transitions in this high-volume FMCG category. This study examines the determinants of switching intention toward eco-friendly bottled water by applying the Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM) framework, addressing a critical gap in the literature where PPM has rarely been tested for green packaged products. Data were collected from 101 consumers through an online survey and analyzed using PLS-SEM. The findings show that push factors and pull factors significantly enhance switching intention, while mooring factors exert a strong negative influence. Mooring also moderates the pull-intention relationship, indicating that habitual and structural constraints can weaken the impact of product attractiveness on switching behavior. The model explains 72.4% of the variance in switching intention, demonstrating strong explanatory power. The study advances PPM theory by extending it to eco-friendly bottled water and providing a more integrated understanding of how dissatisfaction, green value perceptions, and behavioral inertia jointly shape consumer migration in sustainable FMCG contexts. Practically, the results offer guidance for firms and policymakers seeking to reduce plastic consumption by highlighting which drivers to amplify and which barriers to mitigate. This research contributes novel evidence on consumer switching toward environmentally responsible drinking-water alternatives.

Abstract

Background: This systematic review aims to resolve the critical conflict between the clinically superior, cost-efficient Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Section (ERACS) protocol and the financially restrictive BPJS/INA-CBGs national healthcare financing system in Indonesia. The objective is to synthesize evidence on ERACS's efficiency to inform policy recommendations that support its equitable and sustainable adoptionMethods: Following PRISMA guidelines, the methodology involved synthesizing 27 studies published between 2020-2025 across major databases (e.g., PubMed, Cochrane). Included studies were RCTs, cohort, or comparative observational designs focusing on Length of Stay (LOS), cost-related outcomes, pain control, and complication ratesResults: ERACS consistently demonstrated a significant reduction in patient Length of Stay, with reductions ranging from 4 to over 57 hours (e.g., 2.85 days vs. 5.25 days in one major study). The protocol was also associated with a significant decrease in hospital expenditures, including a reported reduction in median direct costs of approximately US$349 per cesarean delivery. Furthermore, ERACS consistently led to improved postoperative pain control, fewer complications, and higher maternal satisfactionConclusion: ERACS offers substantial clinical and economic benefits that align with the goals of Indonesia’s universal health coverage system. The existing evidence provides critical support for policy reforms that must align the fixed BPJS tariff structure with this proven clinical best practice to ensure its widespread, sustainable, and equitable adoption within the national healthcare system.
