Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing behavioral intention and actual usage of digital zakat in Indonesia. The research integrates the Theory of Planned Behavior with the Innovation Resistance Theory and adds self-efficacy and religious orientation as additional variables. A quantitative approach was applied through an online survey analyzed with Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, self-efficacy, and religious orientation positively affect the intention to use digital zakat, while innovation resistance has a negative effect. Behavioral intention also significantly influences actual usage. This study contributes to Islamic economic literature by highlighting the importance of inclusive, educational, and faith-based strategies for optimizing zakat digitization.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and financial performance, with a particular focus on the moderating role of environmental performance. Grounded in legitimacy theory, the study aims to investigate whether environmental performance strengthens or weakens the financial benefits derived from CSR activities in the context of Indonesian listed firms.Methodology: The study employs a quantitative explanatory research design using panel data from manufacturing firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2021-2024. CSR is measured using a CSR Disclosure Index based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, while environmental performance is assessed using the Indonesian government’s PROPER rating system. Financial performance is proxied by Tobin’s Q. Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) is applied to test the direct effects of CSR and environmental performance on financial performance, as well as the interaction effect between CSR and environmental performance. Results: The findings indicate that CSR has a significant positive effect on financial performance, supporting the view that socially responsible practices enhance corporate legitimacy and firm value. Environmental performance also shows a positive direct effect on financial outcomes. However, the interaction between CSR and environmental performance reveals a significant negative moderating effect, suggesting that high environmental performance reduces the incremental financial benefits of CSR, indicating a substitution rather than a reinforcement effect. Applications/Originality/Value: This study extends legitimacy theory by demonstrating that sustainability signals may interact in complex and non-linear ways. It provides valuable insights for managers, investors, and policymakers by highlighting the importance of strategically balancing CSR and environmental initiatives rather than assuming their effects are always complementary.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of three dimensions of global uncertainty-Global Economic Policy Uncertainty (GEPU), Global Geopolitical Risk (GPR), and the Global Financial Stress Index (GFSI) on the volatility of Indonesia's stock market, specifically the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG). Volatility is quantified employing a GARCH(1,1) model utilizing daily IHSG returns spanning from 2019 to 2025, subsequently transformed into monthly data for analytical purposes through the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) methodology, incorporating inflation and the Bank Indonesia Rate as domestic control variables. The Bound Test substantiates a long-term relationship between global uncertainty and IHSG volatility. Long-term estimations indicate that both GEPU and GFSI significantly amplify volatility, whereas GPR exerts a notable negative influence, implying that Indonesia functions as a relatively secure haven amid global geopolitical strife. Inflation mitigates volatility, while the BI Rate appears to be statistically insignificant. In the short-term context, only GFSI displays a direct impact. The substantial error correction term (-0.83) signifies a robust tendency toward equilibrium restoration. Overall, global systematic risks predominantly overshadow domestic factors in determining the volatility of Indonesia's financial market.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of interactivity experience and visual appeal on visit intention in virtual cultural tourism, with memorable tourism experience (MTE) as a mediating variable among Generation Z in Indonesia, using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed by collecting data from 415 Generation Z respondents who experienced a virtual tour of Borobudur Temple. Data were gathered through an online questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS to test the measurement and structural models. The results indicate that interactivity experience and visual appeal have significant positive effects on memorable tourism experience, while visist intention is significantly influenced by interactivity experience and memorable tourism experience. Visual appeal does not have a direct effect on visit intention but indirectly influences it through memorable tourism experience, confirming the mediating role of MTE. These findings validate the applicability of the S-O-R model in virtual tourism and demonstrate that interactive and emotionally engaging virtual experiences are more effective than visual aesthetics alone in stimulating visit intention. This study offers empirical evidence that enriches virtual tourism literature and provides practical insights for designing technology-based cultural tourism strategies that are more aligned with the characteristics of Generation Z and supportive of cultural heritage promotion.

Abstract

This study investigates the role of trust, transparency, and community participation in shaping waqf intentions within the context of Islamic religious tourism in Indonesia. Referring to the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) framework integrated with the principles of Community-Based Tourism (CBT), this research examines how external stimuli, community participation, circularity visibility, and transparency influence the internal psychological mechanism of trust in religious management and subsequently affect behavioral responses in the form of waqf intentions. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed using data from 210 respondents at mosque-based religious tourism destinations in Central Java. The findings reveal that community participation and transparency significantly enhance trust, whereas circularity has no significant effect. Furthermore, trust is positively associated with the waqf intentions of religious tourism visitors. The results highlight that moral legitimacy and spiritual integrity outweigh environmental circularity in building public trust in Islamic philanthropic institutions. This study contributes to theory by extending the application of SOR to Islamic philanthropy and to practice by offering a sustainable governance model for mosque-based tourism through transparent, participatory, and trust-oriented management.

Abstract

This study seeks to comparatively examine the differences in consumers' intentions to use e-Wallets in Indonesia by employing an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The traditional TAM framework is expanded by incorporating two additional constructs: perceived risk and social influence. The research utilized an online survey involving 320 Indonesian respondents who had used an e-Wallet at least once within the past three months. The collected data were analyzed through the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach using Smart-PLS software. The results offer both theoretical and practical insights, revealing that perceived ease of use has a significant impact on perceived usefulness in the context of e-Wallet adoption. Therefore, digital payment providers should focus on enhancing perceived usefulness to promote greater user acceptance. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this study is among the first to explore this topic and provides valuable directions for future research. By comparing consumer behavior between independent and embedded e-Wallet users, three key differences are identified. The findings are expected to assist digital payment providers in managing and improving e-Wallet systems and platforms more effectively, thereby supporting the design and implementation of services that achieve stronger consumer acceptance.
