Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of flashcard media on early reading skills among children aged 5-6 years at TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Ngembat Padas. A quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design was applied, involving 15 kindergarten children from Group B as research participants. Data were collected through observation, performance tests, and documentation, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test since the data did not meet the assumption of normality. The findings revealed a significant improvement in early reading performance following the flashcard intervention. The mean score increased from 15.33 in the pretest to 19.87 in the posttest, indicating an improvement of 29.57%. The statistical result of Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.0006 (< 0.05) confirms that flashcard media positively and significantly affects children’s early reading proficiency. Therefore, flashcards can be recommended as an engaging, effective instructional medium for fostering foundational literacy in early childhood education.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has integrated gadgets into the lives of young children, creating a paradox in their impact on language development. These devices have the potential to be effective educational tools as well as obstacles to development, depending entirely on how they are used. This study aims to analyse in depth the dual impact (positive and negative) of gadget use on the language development of children aged 3-6 years, in an Islamic educational setting as well as to explore the mediating role of parents and teachers. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach conducted at the PAUD Aisyiyah in Sukoharjo Regency. The research subjects consisted of children, parents/guardians, classroom teachers, and the school principal, who were selected purposively. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document studies, then analysed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings revealed that the impact of gadgets is dualistic and highly determined by the quality of adult mediation and the content accessed. Guided use with educational content (such as Nussa Rara and Cocomelon) contributed to an increase in vocabulary, pronunciation of Islamic phrases, and confidence in storytelling. Conversely, unsupervised exposure to age-inappropriate content (such as Anomali animations) resulted in delayed speech, inappropriate code-mixing, and imitation of coarse language. This study concludes that gadgets are essentially neutral tools. Their impact on early childhood language development is determined by the digital ecology surrounding the child, which includes content quality, duration of use, and-most importantly-the quality of mediation from parents and teachers. Synergistic collaboration between home and school environments in building digital literacy and applying consistent boundaries is essential to ensure that technology functions as a means of language enrichment, not as an obstacle to development.

Abstract

The development of language intelligence in early childhood is a crucial foundation for their future communication skills. This research is important because many young children do not receive consistent language stimulation at home, while studies on the synergy of parent-teacher communication in the PAUD context-especially in local settings like BA Aisyiyah G-are still limited. This descriptive qualitative research was conducted over three months, from March to May 2025. Data sources included observations of communication practices, parent-teacher interviews, documentation, and school literature and documents. The research instruments consisted of observation guidelines, interview guides, and documentation formats. Data analysis followed the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing according to Miles & Huberman. The results indicate that parental communication through consistent verbal stimulation at home plays a significant role in improving children's language intelligence. Teachers also reinforced this stimulation through storytelling and role-play activities, resulting in synergy between stimulation at home and at school resulting in improvements in children's ability to express ideas, enrich vocabulary, and construct sentences effectively. The findings emphasize the importance of simultaneous involvement between parents and teachers to optimize the language development of children aged 4-5 years.

Abstract

Early childhood education, particularly during the 'golden age' of 5-6 years, often lacks balance. Emphasis is placed on academic aspects such as recognizing numbers and letters, while crucial social-emotional development, essential for shaping personality and life skills, is neglected. Consequently, children struggle to comprehend lessons when emotions are unmanaged and are prone to social issues like conflicts or isolation. This study aims to analyze how teachers manage social-emotional skills in 5-6-year-olds and provide practical guidelines for integrating social-emotional education into daily learning. Employing a qualitative descriptive method at TK Aisyiah 3 Jogorogo, with two teachers as subjects, data were collected via direct observations of child behavior and in-depth interviews over one month. Data were then evaluated using thematic analysis to identify key themes, such as patterns of child interaction and teachers' roles as role models. Findings reveal teachers understand child development through daily observations, such as during peer interactions or challenges. They address this by fostering a safe classroom environment, modeling emotional regulation, designing collaborative activities like team games to build empathy and emotional control, and collaborating with parents for consistency between home and school. In conclusion, teachers play a central role in shaping children's emotional intelligence through holistic approaches, including balanced digital education integration and teaching skills like breathing techniques for self-calming. Thus, children develop into stable, empathetic individuals ready for life's challenges, ensuring education encompasses not only academics but also vital social-emotional aspects.

Abstract

By identifying through personal usage and/or business usage of BNPL (Buy Now Pay Later) services among generation Z in Central Java, this study examines whether the decision influenced by psychological or demographic factors. This research conducted cross-sectional data collected through questionnaires and implemented multiple regression test such as: multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, normality test, reset test, and MWD (MacKinnon-White-Davidson) in order to determine the most proper functional specifications. It is concluded that variable motivation has a positive and somewhat significant effect on why generation Z in Central Java uses Pay Later services. On the other side, variable easiness has a significant negative effect. Variable age in business use term is the only important factor. Conversely, other variables like income, expense, education does not have a significant effect. The MWD test shows that both linear and log-linear models are equally valid. Offers practical guidance for policy makers, focuses on FinTech (Financial Technology) in fostering more responsible Pay Later utilization to avoid credit risk/default.
