Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of User Interactivity, Visual Appeal, and Mental Imagery in virtual tourism on Tourists' Visit Intention toward Indonesian cultural destinations, with a particular focus on the Borobudur Temple virtual tour. The research applies the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) framework to explain how interactive digital experiences and visual aesthetics shape tourists' emotional and cognitive responses, which in turn affect their visit intentions. This quantitative study involved 415 respondents who have experienced or accessed virtual tourism platforms showcasing Indonesian cultural sites. Data were collected using an online questionnaire and analyzed with Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS software. The results show that User Interactivity and Visual Appeal have a significant positive effect on Mental Imagery, while Mental Imagery significantly mediates the relationship between those variables and Tourists' Visit Intention. Furthermore, the study finds that the more engaging and visually appealing the virtual tourism experience, the stronger the mental imagery and intention to visit the real destination. The findings emphasize the importance of enhancing interactive and visual elements in virtual tourism as an effective digital marketing strategy for promoting Indonesia's cultural heritage. This research contributes both theoretically and practically to the development of digital-based tourism promotion models, supporting sustainable cultural tourism through immersive virtual experiences.

Abstract

Purpose: Patient engagement is a fundamental determinant of primary care effectiveness, particularly in semi-rural settings where structural barriers and relational discontinuities undermine access and outcomes. Family medicine principles-continuity, coordination, and comprehensiveness-and multidimensional accessibility (time, distance, cost) are frequently proposed interventions, yet their combined influence on patient engagement and the mediating role of doctor-patient relationship quality remain incompletely synthesized. To systematically synthesize empirical evidence on the effects of family medicine principles and homecare accessibility on patient engagement in primary care, and to evaluate how the quality of the doctor-patient relationship mediates these effectsMethodology: Systematic review following PRISMA guidelines, we searched Scopus, PubMed, and ScienceDirect for peer-reviewed studies published from 2013 to 2025 that addressed family medicine values, accessibility dimensions, homecare models, and interpersonal dynamics in primary care. Thirty-eight studies meeting predefined inclusion criteria underwent thematic synthesis and critical appraisal to identify recurrent mechanisms, contextual moderators, and measured engagement outcomes. Results: The synthesis identified three interrelated mechanisms through which primary care interventions influence engagement: (1) family medicine principles-especially continuity and care coordination-foster trust and longitudinal patient commitment; (2) accessibility along temporal, spatial, and financial axes predominantly affects utilization and perceived feasibility of care, with temporal barriers most recurrent in the evidence base; (3) doctor-patient relationship quality-characterized by effective communication, empathy, and cultural competence-consistently mediates the impact of structural and organizational factors on patient activation, adherence, and sustained engagement.Applications/Originality/Value: Integrating family medicine principles with targeted improvements in time, distance, and cost accessibility amplifies patient engagement when relational quality is actively cultivated. Implementation strategies should prioritize continuity of care and communication training alongside accessibility interventions to optimize patient-centered outcomes in semi-rural primary care settings.

Abstract

Purpose: this study employs an Error-Correction Model to examine how foreign direct investment (FDI), renewable energy consumption, labor, and inflation are associated with economic growth in SingaporeMethodology: Using annual Singapore data for 2000 to 2024, this study employs an Error-Correction Model to capture both short-run dynamics and long-run equilibrium relationships between FDI, renewable energy consumption, labor, inflation, and economic growth. Results: The short-run estimates indicate that growth is responsive to FDI, renewable energy use, and inflation, whereas labor does not exhibit a statistically significant effect. In contrast, the long-run results reveal that renewable energy, labor, and inflation exert significant influences on growth, while FDI becomes non-significant. The specification accounts for 71.61% of the variation in economic growth.Applications/Originality/Value: These findings point to the presence of frictions in the clean-energy transition and rigidities in the labor market, as well as an asymmetric contribution of FDI relative to renewables across time horizons. From a policy perspective, the implications include the importance of maintaining macroeconomic stability, accelerating the rollout of renewable energy, alleviating constraints in the labor market, and directing investment toward projects that enhance productivity.

Abstract

This study examines the use of PayLater services, which impose additional costs such as handling fees (1%) and late fines (5%), in relation to Islamic jurisprudence, particularly the prohibitions of riba and gharar. The analysis is framed within fiqh muamalah, addressing the concepts of riba nasi'ah (interest from delayed payment), gharar (contractual uncertainty), and the legitimacy of contracts such as qardh (interest-free loans), murabahah (profit-margin sales), and ijarah (leasing). Employing a doctrinal qualitative approach, this research analyzes authoritative sources (Qur'an, hadith, classical fiqh, fatwas) alongside the framework of maqasid al-shariah to assess socioeconomic implications. The findings demonstrate that the fee structure of PayLater services contradicts sharia principles: it qualifies as riba nasi'ah and entails gharar due to lack of transparency, rendering the contracts fasid (invalid) for violating clarity of price (tsaman) and transaction object. Although PayLater services promote financial inclusion (hifz al-mal), they simultaneously encourage excessive consumption, threatening hifz al-aql (intellect), hifz al-din (faith), and leading to israf (wastefulness). The study highlights the need for structural reforms, including replacing interest with transparent fixed administrative costs, standardizing digital contracts, enhancing Islamic financial literacy, and regulatory intervention by the OJK through halal certification and supervision. Its novelty lies in offering a transformative framework for Sharia-compliant PayLater models, such as mudharabah (profit-sharing) or ijarah muntahiya bi al-tamlik (lease-to-own), while integrating a comprehensive maqasid-based evaluation of consumer behavior. This contribution not only provides practical recommendations for aligning fintech innovation with Islamic law but also addresses the broader goals of sustainable and equitable development.
