Abstract

Purpose: This study analyzes the business development strategy of Charlie Hospital Demak, a newly established private hospital operating since late 2024. The hospital faces early-stage challenges related to fluctuating patient visits and the need to build competitive positioning in a growing regional healthcare market.Methodology: Using a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantiative), the research identifies internal and external strategic factors through the McKinsey 7S Framework, Porter’s Five Forces, and PESTEL analysis, formulates strategic alternatives using SWOT, and determines strategic priorities using the Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM).Results: Findings reveal key strengths in modern facilities, competent human resources, and a comprehensive service philosophy, while weaknesses include ineffective inter-unit communication and suboptimal service procedures. Opportunities arise from industrial zone development, national healthcare programs, and digitalization trends, whereas threats stem from emerging competitors, rising non-communicable diseases, and dynamic health regulations. The IE matrix places the hospital in the "grow and build" category. As a result, prioritized strategies include the Industrial MCU program, mobile specialist services, and hemodialysis.Applications/Originality/Value: This research informs strategic planning for regional hospital development.

Abstract

This paper attempts to examine the impact of trade openness, economic growth (GDP), and gas price on inflation in Western European countries. Utilizing panel data from seven countries over the period 2020–2024, the research employs the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) as the most appropriate estimation approach, as determined by the Chow and Hausman tests. The results reveal that trade openness and gas price exert a significant positive influence on inflation, whereas economic growth shows no significant effect. These findings suggest that inflation in Western Europe is predominantly driven by external factors, particularly fluctuations in energy prices and global trade dynamics.

Abstract

Purpose: This study explores how the strategic significance of the workforce and HR flexibility toward strategic human capital capabilities affects organizational performance in higher education institutions, with the research centered on the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. The research highlights how human capital adaptability and strategic alignment serve as critical determinants of organizational success.Methodology: A quantitative approach was applied by distributing structured questionnaires to 72 permanent lecturers, assessed utilising a five-point Likert scale. Data were analysed utilising Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4.0 to evaluate construct validity, reliability, and the structural relationships among the variables. The conceptual model comprises four fundamental constructs: Workforce Strategic Importance, HR Flexibility, Strategic Human Capabilities, and Organizational Performance. Results: The results show that Workforce Strategic Importance and HR Flexibility produce positive yet statistically insignificant direct effects on Organizational Performance. However, both factors considerably strengthen Strategic Human Capabilities, which subsequently exert a strong positive impact on Organisational Performance. The results demonstrate that Strategic Human Capabilities serve as a vital mediating mechanism that translates the impact of HR initiatives into enhanced performance outcomes.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the influence of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), labor force, and interest rates on savings rates in Japan during the period 2017 to 2024 in quarterly. In a dynamic economic context, people's saving behavior is one of the important indicators that influence economic stability and growth.Methodology: The analytical method used in this study is multiple regression analysis with the Error Correction Model (ECM). Data used in this study are sourced from the Bank of Japan, the Ministry of Finance of Japan, and the World Bank. Results: The results show that in the short term, savings rates are significantly influenced by the labor force, where increasing labor force participation implies an increase in income and savings capacity.Applications/Originality/Value: In the long term, savings rates are significantly influenced by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), indicating that increasing national income encourages people to save more. However, interest rates show a negative influence on savings rates, where low interest rates tend to reduce people's incentives to save.

Abstract

The research seeks to investigate the impact of User Interactivity, Visual Appeal, and Emotional Experience on intentions to visit sites related to Indonesian Cultural Virtual Tourism. It adopts a quantitative methodology, drawing on primary information collected through surveys administered via Google Forms. Data processing in this investigation employs the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) approach, facilitated by the Smart PLS 4.0 application. Outcomes from the analysis show that all elements in the proposed framework maintain favorable connections in line with the initial predictions. Notably, User Interactivity exerts a beneficial influence on Tourist Visit Intention, while Visual Appeal markedly shapes Emotional Experience. Furthermore, User Interactivity significantly contributes to Emotional Experience, Emotional Experience positively drives Tourist Visit Intention, and Visual Appeal also promotes a constructive effect on Tourist Visit Intention. These insights underscore the interconnected roles of these factors in enhancing virtual tourism engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of net deforestation, clean water capacity, domestic investment, and population density on the Environmental Quality Index (EQI) in Indonesia for the period 2018–2022. This study uses a quantitative method with panel data regression analysis in 25 provinces. The results show that net deforestation has a negative and significant effect on the Environmental Quality Index, while clean water capacity has a positive and significant effect. Meanwhile, domestic investment and population density do not have a significant effect on the EQI. These findings indicate that increased deforestation can reduce environmental quality, while increased clean water capacity can improve the environmental quality index. The government is advised to strengthen its deforestation control policies and expand clean water infrastructure development in order to achieve sustainable development in Indonesia.

Abstract

This quantitative study aims to examine the impact of the elements that make up the Human Development Index (HDI)-which consists of Health (Life Expectancy), Education (Average Length of Schooling), and Standard of Living (Gross National Income)-on the HDI in Singapore from 1998 to 2023. Using time series data and applying econometric regression models, this study shows that these three aspects have a significant and positive contribution to HDI improvement. These findings confirm that Singapore's HDI, which has consistently been in the Very High category, is driven by successful investments in planned human capital development. The Health and Education variables have been proven to play an important role in maintaining the rate of HDI growth, reinforcing the view that sustainable human development is the key to national welfare and long-term economic resilience.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Global Economic Policy Uncertainty (GEPU) on sectoral stock indices in Indonesia, specifically the financial, energy, and consumer cyclical sectors within the framework of the Arbitrage Pricing Theory (APT). Using monthly data from January 2021 to June 2025 and applying the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model, the research examines both the short- and long-run relationships between GEPU, key macroeconomic variables, and sectoral stock performance. The findings reveal that GEPU exerts a negative and significant influence on the financial and energy sectors, indicating capital withdrawal and higher risk premiums during periods of global uncertainty. In contrast, the consumer cyclical sector shows a positive response, suggesting short-term resilience as domestic consumption rebounded in the post-pandemic recovery phase. These results highlight that each sector responds differently to external shocks through distinct transmission channels: financial intermediation, commodity pricing, and consumer sentiment. The evidence provides valuable insights for both investors and policymakers to identify resilient sectors and to design strategic responses that enhance market stability and support sustainable economic growth (SDG 8) in periods of heightened global uncertainty.
