Abstract

KEY WORDS: kesejahteraan psikologis; kesadaran pikiran; sikap negatif; sikap positif ABSTRACT a person's psychological well-being refers to positive mental, emotional and social conditions. This includes feelings of happiness, life satisfaction, self-confidence, good relationships with others, and the ability to cope with challenges and stress. Psychological well-being can have a positive relationship with mindfulness, seen from full awareness of what is experienced without overvaluing it. This paper aims to discover how negative attitudes can be changed into positive attitudes through individual awareness as an aspect of their psychological well-being. This research uses a qualitative approach using case study and documentation study methods. Participants in this research were 5th semester Psychology students consisting of 4 subjects (2 men and 2 women). Data analysis using interviews, condensing facts, categorizing facts, creating sub-themes. The results of the research show that mindfulness is related to negative attitudes and also positive attitudes of an individual, namely (1) anti-social attitudes, (2) low self-image, (3) poor communication with his family, (4) trust issues regarding men. - male, (5) afraid when around father (6) habit of engaging in academic procrastination. The positive attitude referred to is, (1) an attitude of never giving up and being optimistic about the results that will be achieved, (2) being grateful for the things that happen, (3) feeling unexpected about the achievements obtained, (4) happy to help father in doing things. his job. Thus, based on the research results, it can be said that the dimensions of self-acceptance and recognition of the environment that exist in a person's well-being condition will emerge when a person realizes his own meaning so that his psychological well-being condition is more meaningful. Abstract

Career aspiration is essential for individual’s preparation and role identity development for future responsibility in society. However, development and validation of scales for assessing career aspirations in Tanzanian context, particularly in higher education institutions is limited.  The present study aimed at assessing the psychometric properties of the revised career aspiration scale (CAS-R) (O’Brien Gregor, 2016) among undergraduate students in Tanzania. The study employed cross-sectional research in which a quantitative approach was adopted. The study conveniently sampled 231 undergraduate students from Mbeya University of science and Technology to participate in the study. Among the participants; 129(55.8%) males and 102(44.2%) females (MAge=22 years, SD=1.84). Data analysis involved descriptive analysis and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using IBM SPSS and AMOS version 23. The CFA yielded retained the three-factor model comprising achievement aspiration, leadership aspiration and educational aspiration consisting of 24 scale items in total. The model showed good model fit: X2/df= 1.89, CFI=0.94, TLI=0.93, RMSEA=0.062, SRMR=0.062. The measurement model demonstrated reasonable convergence and discriminant validity. The composite of the sub-scales showed adequate internal consistency of above the threshold value (α0.7). The study’s findings revealed that the final three-factor model of the validated revised career aspiration scale is valid and reliability for assessing the career aspirations among undergraduate students in higher learning institutions in Tanzania.

Abstract

Job satisfaction is a fundamental determinant of professionals’ productivity, motivation, and mental well-being. This study explored the level of job satisfaction among psychologists in Bangladesh and examined its association with demographic characteristics. Using a quantitative, cross-sectional, and correlational design, data were gathered from 100 purposively selected psychologists through an online survey. A standardized and culturally adapted job satisfaction questionnaire for Bangla-speaking participants was employed to ensure contextual relevance. Data analysis included descriptive and inferential procedures such as correlation and analysis of variance. The findings revealed a generally moderate level of job satisfaction among participants, with significant variations across educational background, socioeconomic status, residential area, and work experience. Psychologists with higher income or belonging to more privileged socioeconomic groups tended to report lower satisfaction, suggesting that elevated expectations may not always align with workplace realities. These results highlight the complex interplay of contextual and demographic factors shaping professional well-being in Bangladesh’s mental health sector. Although the study’s scope was limited by purposive sampling and its national focus, it provides an important empirical contribution to the limited literature on occupational satisfaction within low-resource contexts. Further research across diverse geographic and institutional settings is recommended to enhance the generalizability of findings. This study contributes to a broader understanding of how demographic and contextual dynamics influence professional satisfaction and can guide the development of culturally sensitive, evidence-based interventions to strengthen the mental health workforce in Bangladesh

Abstract

Road rage has become an increasing concern in densely populated urban areas, posing significant risks to road safety and public health. This study examined the influence of personality traits and mental health status on road rage among commercial drivers in Lagos Metropolis, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, involving a sample of commercial drivers selected through a multistage sampling technique. Data were collected using standardized instruments that measured driving anger, personality characteristics, and mental health status. The analysis revealed meaningful associations between personality dimensions, mental health conditions, and the propensity for road rage. Findings suggest that drivers exhibiting certain personality patterns and compromised mental health are more susceptible to aggressive driving behaviours. These results underscore the importance of integrating psychological and behavioural considerations into road safety interventions. Promoting emotional regulation and providing accessible mental health support could be crucial strategies for reducing road rage, particularly among commercial drivers operating in high-stress urban environments such as Lagos.

Abstract

This study investigates the cognitive emotion regulation strategies applied by ISIS Iraq attack survivors in general and specific psychological results and effects of war-related trauma. This cross-sectional study intended to investigate gender and age differences in the use of maladaptive and adaptive coping strategies, utilizing the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire-Arabic Version (CERQ-AR) among 420 survivors from Mosul, Iraq. Data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), independent t-tests, and correlational analysis. Results showed that males scored significantly higher than females on rumination, catastrophizing, and other-blame. However, no gender difference was found in the case of adaptive strategies. The finding implies that these differences could be a function of the traditional gender roles in Iraqi society, especially in conservative areas like Mosul. Secondly, age as a variable in how these strategies are adopted: older individuals show a decline in maladaptive coping but an increase in other-blame. The research study ended with the recommendation that such cognitive emotion regulation strategies in post-conflict settings should be pursued through gender- and age-specific interventions. Abstract

Frequent marital discord indicates disharmony between husbands and wives. Disputes cause conflicts and can lead to divorce. Kediri Regency ranks sixth for the highest divorce rate in the East Java region and has shown an increasing trend over the last five years, from 2018 to 2022. This study aims to determine the impact of emotional maturity on marital harmony among young adults in Kediri Regency. The research was conducted using quantitative methods. The measuring instruments included an emotional maturity scale and a marital harmony scale. The emotional maturity scale showed a reliability value of 0.935, while the marital harmony scale scored 0.908, indicating a high coefficient level for both scales. The study included 100 participants who met the criteria of being aged between 20 and 40 years, being married, and having a minimum of one year of marriage. A purposive sampling technique was used for participant selection. The data was analyzed using simple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, it shows that the significance value is 0.000, which shows that emotional maturity has a significant influence on marital harmony, and the R square value is 80%. This study implies that for young adult couples, creating a harmonious family through marriage requires both husband and wife to possess high emotional maturity. This can be achieved by cultivating a family environment that provides mutual mental support and encourages open communication. Abstract

Investigation of criminal cases involving officers who have experienced trauma, such as sexual violence against children, has the potential to experience Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD). Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD) is a stress disorder that can arise from interactions with someone who experienced a traumatic event. Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD) can arise due to one of the triggers, namely emotional contagion, where empathy is often involved in handling cases involving women and children. The study examines the forms of emotional contagion, what factors can cause Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD), and how to overcome or prevent the onset of Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD). The study was conducted on four police officers who were investigators of sexual violence cases against children in the PPA Unit of Malang District Police. The research uses phenomenological qualitative methods with descriptive data results. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews and processed using thematic analysis techniques—data analysis using coding interview results. Data validity using credibility tested, with triangulation techniques of data sources and member checking. This study found that forms of emotional contagion exist in investigators, such as pity, feel sorrow, sadness, crying, and anger. In addition, several symptoms shown by each subject lead to symptoms of Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD), namely intrusive, arousal and avoidance symptoms. It was also found that there was a uniqueness in each subject in how to overcome the onset of Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD). STSD in the police has the potential to affect the accuracy in investigating the cases they handle, which then affects law enforcement in the community KEY WORDS police officer; sexual violence; secondary traumatic stress disorderr Copyright ©2023. Abstract

Learning motivation influences the emergence of triggers to achieve academic excellence. This article explains that learning motivation can generate student responses toward academic achievement. This research adopts the grounded research method. The participants in the study were four students. Data analysis employs four constructivist steps: verbatim from interview transcripts, data condensation, categorization, and sub-theme conclusion. The findings of this research indicate that, first, the identified forms of learning achievement include having an outrageous sense of responsibility, being willing to take risks, and not being afraid of failure. Second, self-development can shape these achievements, including self-confidence and exploring one's potential. Third, learning motivation drives various aspects, such as failure reflection and reinforcement. Thus, individuals can minimize and overcome possible barriers with encouragement to motivate themselves, leading to academic excellence.KEY WORDS: learning motivation; achievement; self-introspection; self-developmentABSTRAKMotivasi belajar mempengaruhi munculnya pemicu untuk mencapai prestasi akademik.
