The results of the study indicate that there is an Influence of Motivation and Work Environment on Employee Performance in the Corporate Secretariat & Governance Compartment of PT Pusri Palembang with Work Discipline as an Intervening Variable with the equation Y = 0.419x1 + 0.407x2 + ε1 and the equation Z = 0.244x1 + 0.142x2 + 0.665Y + ε2 there is an influence of Motivation on Work Discipline indicated by the equation of the t-statistic value of 2.545> 1.960 and p-values of 0.011 <0.05, the Work Environment has a significant effect on Work Discipline indicated by the t-statistic value of 2.492> 1.960 and p-values of 0.013 <0.05, Motivation has an effect on Employee Performance indicated by the t-statistic value of 2.534> 1.960 and p-values of 0.012 <0.05, Work Environment affects Employee Performance indicated by t-statistics of 2,289> 1,960 and p-values of 0.022 <0.05, Work Discipline affects Employee Performance with t-statistics of 7,584> 1,960 and p-values of 0.000 <0.05. The R2 value for the latent variable Work Discipline of Work Discipline as a mediating variable is 0.541, which means that the value identifies that variations in employee Work Discipline can be explained by exogenous latent variables (Motivation and Work Environment) of 54.1% while the remaining 45.9% is explained by other variables. The R2 value for the latent variable Employee Performance is 89.7% while the remaining 10.3% is explained by variables not included in the study. Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of parental violence on the cognitive development of children aged 5-6 years at TK Al-Faruqi. A qualitative research method was employed to gain a deep understanding of the experiences of children who have been subjected to violence and its effects on their cognitive development. In-depth interviews were conducted with three informants, including two classroom teachers and one parent, to identify various forms of violence, both physical and verbal. The findings indicate that physical violence, such as hitting, pinching, and slapping, frequently occurs within the context of parenting and significantly contributes to disruptions in the child’s thinking and problem-solving abilities. The effects of this physical violence include fear, stress, and learning difficulties, making it harder for children to grasp the material taught in school. On the other hand, verbal violence, such as yelling and using harsh language, can harm the child’s mental health and hinder the development of their self-confidence. Children who experience verbal abuse exhibit difficulties in concentrating and retaining information, negatively impacting their academic performance. Further analysis identified several factors that trigger parental violence, including unstable economic conditions and the inability of parents to manage their emotions. The informants revealed that economic pressure, especially during times of financial hardship, often leads to frustration that manifests as violence toward the child. Emotional mismanagement is also a significant reason behind violent behavior, despite parents being aware of its negative consequences. It was found that children who endure violence tend to experience learning delays, difficulties in social interaction, and deviant behavior. This study suggests the need for parental education on the negative effects of violence, as well as training in emotional and stress management. Such efforts are expected to prevent child abuse and create a safe, supportive, and conducive environment for optimal cognitive development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the meaning and tradition of the seven-month procession for pregnant women in the social life of the people of Tempapan Kuala Village, Galing Sub-district, Sambas Regency. The seven-month procession is part of a traditional ritual that is full of cultural values, religiosity, and social togetherness. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, where data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies. The results showed that the seven-month procession not only serves as a form of prayer and hope for the safety of the mother and fetus, but also strengthens social solidarity among community members. This tradition reflects a combination of Islamic values and local customs, which are implemented through various symbols and rituals, such as giving offerings, reciting prayers, and mutual cooperation in its implementation. In addition, the procession also serves as an informal educational tool for the younger generation on the importance of maintaining traditions and strengthening social relations. However, there are challenges in maintaining this tradition in the midst of modernization and social change. The findings contribute to understanding the role of local traditions in shaping cultural identity and strengthening social cohesion in rural communities. This study recommends the need for tradition preservation efforts through collaboration between traditional leaders, religious leaders, and the local government.
