Abstract

Effective leadership plays a central role in the success of an institution, including in educational institutions. Leaders, especially principals, are expected to have the ability to guide all elements of the organization to achieve the desired goals effectively and efficiently. This study aims to describe and analyze the development of principal leadership skills, focusing on three main skills, namely interpersonal skills, trust-building skills, and decision-making skills. The methods used are literature review and descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that principals who have good leadership skills are able to create a harmonious educational environment, increase collaboration between members, and make strategic decisions that support the progress of the institution. Thus, strong leadership skills are needed to face the challenges in the world of education, as well as encourage the success of the institution in achieving its goals.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the principal's strategy in building a religious culture at SMP Negeri 05 Pontianak. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that school principals implement various strategies such as implementing routine religious programs, developing a curriculum that is integrated with religious values, creating a supportive school environment, collaborating with parents and the community, and developing teacher professionalism in religious aspects. These strategies involve all school components and aim to create an environment that supports religious values, strengthen the school's commitment to forming students' religious character, and ensure continuity between the values ​​taught at school and those applied in students' homes and social environments. This research concludes that the principal's leadership plays a very important role in achieving these goals

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of principal leadership in improving teacher pedagogical competence at MTs Miftahul Jannah Segedong. Improving the quality of education through teacher competency development is the main focus, considering the challenges of declining quality of education at various levels. Using a qualitative approach, this study explores the leadership strategies implemented by principals to support the development of teacher pedagogical competence. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The main findings of the study indicate that strategies such as conducting periodic workshops, ongoing teacher training, providing motivation through awards, intensive supervision, and holding regular school meetings are very effective in improving the quality of learning in the school. In addition, the principal plays a role in creating a school culture that supports collaboration and pedagogical innovation among teachers. The implications of this study highlight the importance of the role of the principal in fostering a conducive and sustainable learning environment for teacher professional development, which ultimately has a positive impact on the quality of education. Recommendations for this study include increasing policy support for teacher competency development and strengthening school leadership capacity.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of school principals in decision-making for educational planning at MTs Al-Munawaro. Decision-making in educational planning is a crucial aspect that affects the quality and direction of educational policies in schools. Using a qualitative approach, this research explores the experiences, views, and perceptions of the principal and teachers in the decision-making process. The findings show that the principal begins the decision-making process by gathering accurate data on human resources, school facilities, and student academic performance. Subsequently, the principal evaluates various decision alternatives, considering the budget, short- and long-term needs, and stakeholder involvement. The decisions made include curriculum planning, improvement of learning facilities, and teacher professional development programs. Decision implementation is monitored through regular evaluation meetings and feedback from stakeholders. The study also identifies challenges in decision-making, such as budget limitations that impact planning. Overall, the decision-making process carried out by the school principal plays an important role in enhancing the quality of education at MTs Al-Munawaro, despite various challenges that need to be addressed.

Abstract

The role of the school principal is very important in determining the direction and success of educational institutions. This article discusses how school principals can be a driving force in implementing strategic management concepts in schools. With a systematic approach, school principals can ensure the school's vision and mission are achieved effectively. This study also highlights strategic steps that school principals can take in planning, implementing and evaluating strategic management. In addition, this article identifies the main challenges faced in implementing strategic management and offers practical recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of school principals' strategic leadership. By understanding this role in depth, school principals can create an innovative, inclusive and sustainable educational environment.

Abstract

Education plays a central role in the development of a nation, and high-quality education is expected to produce future generations capable of competing on the international stage. Improving the quality of education in Indonesia involves supportive factors, where the role of the school principal as a leader and teachers as educators is crucial. Enhancing the performance of teachers, as a key element in the educational process, requires effective communication management between the school principal and teachers. This research aims to analyze and elucidate the factors influencing teacher performance and how the communication management of the school principal plays a crucial role in improving teacher performance. The research methodology employed is normative through literature review. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive and argumentative. Based on the research, it is found that factors affecting teacher performance involve effectiveness and efficiency, authority and responsibility, discipline, initiative, skills and expertise, knowledge, work design, personality, motivation, leadership, leadership style, organizational culture, job satisfaction, and working environment. Furthermore, the role of communication management by the school principal in enhancing teacher performance is essential. The school principal, as a leader, must be able to create a positive work environment, support the professional growth of teachers, and encourage better performance. Open, clear, and sustainable communication is the key to establishing a harmonious working relationship in the educational environment

Abstract

This study aims to describe the characteristics of principal leadership at MA Al-Ma'arif. The approach used is qualitative with a case study method. The researcher acts as the main instrument in data collection, which is carried out through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The selection of respondents was carried out using the snowball sampling technique. The data obtained were analyzed using the Creswell model. To ensure the validity of the data, this study applies the criteria of credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study indicate that the principal applies various leadership strategies, such as providing role models, practicing instructional leadership, and empowering teachers in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan peran kepemimpinan kepala madrasah dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di MA Darul Ulum. Kepemimpinan kepala madrasah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pengelola administratif, tetapi juga sebagai motivator, inovator, dan fasilitator yang mendukung peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala madrasah di MA Darul Ulum memainkan peran strategis dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru melalui pelatihan dan workshop, serta mendorong inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, pendekatan kepemimpinan partisipatif diterapkan untuk melibatkan guru dalam pengambilan keputusan dan pengembangan kebijakan sekolah. Upaya ini berhasil meningkatkan motivasi guru, kinerja siswa, dan menciptakan budaya akademik yang lebih baik di sekolah. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya strategi kepemimpinan yang adaptif dan inovatif dalam mencapai tujuan pendidikan yang berkualitas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji peran alokasi sumber daya dan perencanaan pendidikan di SMP Mubaiyinul Ulum, Madani, Mekarsari, serta dampaknya terhadap efektivitas pendidikan. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana alokasi sumber daya manusia, fisik, dan keuangan mendukung tujuan pendidikan. Penelitian ini juga menganalisis strategi perencanaan untuk mengoptimalkan sumber daya guna meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan upaya signifikan dalam menyelaraskan alokasi sumber daya dengan tujuan pendidikan, namun terdapat tantangan seperti kurangnya guru pada mata pelajaran tertentu dan perlunya program pengembangan profesi yang lebih terarah. Alokasi sumber daya yang efektif, termasuk penempatan guru yang tepat, pelatihan, dan pemanfaatan teknologi, menjadi faktor penting dalam keberhasilan pendidikan. Selain itu, fleksibilitas dalam perencanaan pendidikan dinilai penting untuk menyesuaikan dengan tuntutan teknologi dan kebutuhan masyarakat. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perbaikan strategi perekrutan guru, investasi dalam pengembangan berkelanjutan, serta keseimbangan antara alokasi sumber daya keuangan dan teknologi. Hasilnya memberikan wawasan bagi pemimpin pendidikan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi lembaga pendidikan mereka secara keseluruhan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali dan menjelaskan manajemen konflik dalam kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan, dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Fokus utama penelitian ini adalah bagaimana seorang pimpinan dalam lembaga pendidikan Islam dapat mengelola dan menyelesaikan konflik yang terjadi di lingkungan pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen konflik yang efektif dalam kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam sangat bergantung pada jiwa kepemimpinan yang kuat dan komitmen untuk menciptakan suasana yang kondusif bagi perkembangan lembaga pendidikan. Pemimpin yang memiliki kedalaman wawasan agama dan integritas yang tinggi cenderung mampu mengelola konflik dengan lebih baik. Adapun cara-cara yang dapat digunakan untuk mengelola konflik dalam kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam, antara lain melalui beberapa pendekatan seperti bernegosiasi atau perundingan, tabayun (klarifikasi untuk menghindari kesalahpahaman), musyawarah (diskusi bersama untuk menemukan solusi terbaik), tahkim (penyelesaian melalui penunjukan pihak yang dapat memberikan keputusan), dan islah (upaya rekonsiliasi untuk memperbaiki hubungan yang retak). Melalui penerapan strategi-strategi ini, diharapkan konflik dalam lembaga pendidikan Islam dapat diselesaikan secara bijaksana dan efisien, menciptakan suasana yang mendukung pembelajaran dan perkembangan karakter peserta didik.
