Abstract

This study explores the relationship between foreign direct investment (FDI) and regional economic growth in East Java Province, with a specific focus on capital-intensive industries. The topic is crucial as FDI plays an increasingly strategic role in accelerating regional development, particularly in industrialized provinces like East Java. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on one province and the inclusion of all industrial sectors in the analysis, offering a more comprehensive and localized perspective compared to previous studies that typically cover national or multi-provincial scopes. This study contributes to the literature by filling a theoretical gap regarding how sectoral FDI affects regional economic output and offers new empirical insights with direct implications for policy and regional planning. Employing a quantitative research design, the study uses panel data from 2020 to 2024, sourced from the Central Statistics Agency and the Investment Coordinating Board. The analysis was conducted using non-parametric correlation tests and a simple regression model. Findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between FDI and the gross regional domestic product (GRDP), with capital-intensive sectors playing a key role in driving growth. The study concludes that increasing FDI, supported by infrastructure improvements, export expansion, and technological innovation, can significantly enhance sustainable economic growth in East Java. Keywords: Capital Intensive Industries, East Java, FDI, GRDP

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of rice and corn productivity on the economic growth of the agricultural sector in the districts of Lamongan, Tuban, and Ngawi, both partially and simultaneously. The dependent variable in this research is the economic growth of the agricultural sector, while the independent variables are rice productivity and corn productivity. This research employs a quantitative approach with a panel data regression method. The Fixed Effect model is considered the most appropriate. The study uses time series data covering the period from 2011 to 2023, with a cross-section consisting of three regions: Lamongan, Tuban, and Ngawi. The results of this study indicate that rice productivity has a significant positive influence on the economic growth of the agricultural sector, whereas corn productivity has a significant negative influence on the economic growth of the agricultural sector. Collectively, the independent variables of rice productivity and corn productivity significantly affect the dependent variable of agricultural sector economic growth. Keywords: Economic Growth, Productivity, Agricultural Sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the potential for revitalising traditional industries in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, as a pillar of creative economic development based on the local culture "Ngaha Aina Ngoho", which means the spirit of working and loving the homeland. The research method uses a descriptive qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques with traditional industry players, local artisans, traditional leaders, and local governments. Secondary data were obtained from regional policy documents, economic statistics, and cultural studies. The findings show that various traditional industries such as weaving, woven crafts, local food processing, and performing arts have high economic potential and cultural value, but are hampered by a lack of market access, limited production technology, and minimal regeneration of young artisans. This study recommends a revitalization strategy through synergy between cultural preservation, design innovation, creative entrepreneurship training, and integration of digital technology for marketing. This revitalisation not only revives the local economy but also strengthens the cultural identity of the Dompu community in the flow of globalisation. Abstract

This study examines the effect of motivation and job satisfaction on employee performance at PT Sustraco Adikreasi. This topic is important because employee performance directly impacts the organisation's success. Despite numerous studies on similar variables, limited research investigates this relationship in the corporate context of PT Sustraco Adikreasi, highlighting its novelty. This study contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence and practical insights into the role of motivation and satisfaction in improving performance. An associative quantitative method was used by distributing questionnaires to 50 respondents. Data were analysed using multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination with the help of SPSS software. The findings show that motivation and job satisfaction positively and significantly influence employee performance individually and simultaneously. The results show that increasing motivation and satisfaction can significantly improve work performance. Keywords: Motivation, job satisfaction, employee performance

This study aims to analyze the influence of economic factors, including the inflation rate, money supply, and exports, on the rupiah exchange rate in the long and short term. This study uses monthly data from 2016 to 2021. The analysis tool used is the Error Correction Model. The results indicate that inflation and exports have a positive and significant impact on the rupiah exchange rate in both the long and short terms. Meanwhile, the money supply variable has a positive but insignificant effect on the rupiah exchange rate in the long and short term. Keywords: inflation, money supply, exports, exchange rate, error correction model

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively analyze research trends and themes related to coastal poverty, focusing on identifying dominant topics, shifts in research priorities, and existing knowledge gaps within the field. The novelty of this study lies in its longitudinal bibliometric approach, covering the period from 1949 to 2025, which provides a holistic understanding of how the discourse on coastal poverty has evolved over more than seven decades—an approach rarely explored in previous research. This study contributes to academic discussions by mapping the intellectual structure of coastal poverty studies, identifying areas for interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting the formulation of future research agendas aligned with global sustainability goals. The research employs a bibliometric analysis using secondary data retrieved from the Scopus database, which were processed and visualized through VOS viewer software to analyze keyword co-occurrence, thematic clusters, and temporal research trends. The findings reveal that dominant themes in coastal poverty research include climate change, poverty, coastal areas, and sustainable development, with recent shifts toward food security, social vulnerability, and multidimensional poverty impacts. The study concludes that, despite the growing body of research, significant gaps remain in addressing issues of empowerment, equity, income, gender, and healthcare. Strengthening collaboration among researchers and institutions is crucial for promoting inclusive and sustainable development of coastal communities. Keywords: Coastal Poverty, Bibliometrics, Climate Change, Sustainable        Development

Abstract

Poverty is a reflection of people's welfare. The extent of poverty in a region is determined by the level of concern of the policymakers in that region, namely the Government. However, if poverty is left untreated, it will become a chronic disease that deepens economic and social disparities. Sragen Regency is recognised as the most innovative regency in Indonesia in the 2024 Innovative Government Award (IGA) program by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the Tumis Village (Tuntas Kemiskinan) innovation. This study aims to determine the impact of Tumis Village as a flagship program of the Sragen Regency Government in reducing poverty. This study is qualitative and uses descriptive methods. Data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Sragen Regency and from interviews with residents affected by Tumis Village. The study results indicate that the Tumis Village program can reduce poverty in Sragen Regency. Keywords: Tumis Village, Poverty

Abstract

Poverty is still a major problem in East Java because the number remains high despite various countermeasures programs that have been implemented by the government. This study aims to analyze the influence of Gini Ratio, Average School Length (RLS), and Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) on the percentage of poor people in East Java districts/cities in 2023. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of these three variables in one current empirical model so as to provide a comprehensive picture of the structural factors that affect poverty at the regional level. The contribution of the research is present through the provision of empirical evidence that fills the gap in the literature regarding the simultaneous relationship between income inequality, education, and unemployment in explaining poverty. The study used a descriptive quantitative approach based on secondary data analyzed through multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study showed that the three independent variables had a significant effect on the poverty rate. Partially, Gini Ratio and RLS have a negative and significant effect, while TPT has a negative but not significant effect. These findings affirm the importance of income equity, improving the quality of education, and strengthening productive economic access as a poverty reduction strategy. Therefore, regional development policies should be focused on increasing access to education, economic empowerment of low-income communities, and creating productive jobs. Keywords: Gini Ratio, Average School Length, Open Unemployment Rate, Poverty, East Java.
