Abstract

Female leaders from the sandwich generation face challenges not only in the workplace but also in their domestic roles. They have multiple roles simultaneously, such as being parents and children, each with different role demands. This study aimed to review the literature on wellbeing at work and evaluate the extent to which the literature on this topic covers the issue related to female leaders of the sandwich generation. The literature reviewed in this research was articles published in accredited and reputable journals, using quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as research within the organizational scope. The study found several variables that were positively related to wellbeing at work, including personality type, resilience, work-life balance, perceived organizational support, social support, coping strategies, organizational culture, and cognitive flexibility. The findings indicate that work-life balance is often positioned as a key factor directly influencing wellbeing. However, many studies also highlight its role as a mediator in the relationship between both internal and external predictors and wellbeing. Given the importance of work-life balance for female leaders in the sandwich generation, the researchers proposed a model that emphasizes factors receiving less attention in workplace well-being research but are critical for this group. Specifically, the researchers suggested that cognitive flexibility and creative adaptability are important internal factors, while perceived organizational support is a key external factor affecting the wellbeing of sandwich generation female leaders. In this model, work-life balance mediates the influence of these factors on wellbeing.

Abstract

This study used a bibliometric analysis approach to investigate the literature on children’s development of fraction understanding. Fraction understanding is crucial in early mathematics education because it is the foundation for more advanced concepts. Bibliometric analysis gives a comprehensive data-driven assessment of research trends, significant contributors, and emerging themes in this field. The data were sourced from the Scopus journal database, encompassing 228 articles from 1975 to 2023. Analytical and visualization tools, including VOS Viewer and the Bibliometrix R-Package, were utilized to map connections among journals, authors, countries/regions, and keywords. The findings indicated a trend of increasing publication volume over the past 15 years, with a yearly growth in articles on this topic. Keyword analysis revealed that, within these publications, “fraction” was the most frequently encountered term, followed by “mathematics” and “decimals”. Moreover, there has been a shift in research focus from studying the challenges in conceptual understanding of fractions among children to investigating alternative interventions designed to address these challenges. This study is a foundational reference for future research on the progression of fraction understanding in children.

Abstract

Abstract

Loneliness is an emotional condition that humans experience as social beings, which can be felt physically and psychologically. Loneliness can have a negative impact on mental health, e.g., causing a sense of isolation, stress, depression, and the development of suicidal tendencies. Several studies have shown variations in the correlation results between loneliness and suicidal behavior. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between loneliness and suicidal behavior across 19 studies (2015–2024) through a meta-analysis. This study used two artifacts, namely sampling and measurement errors. The results of the meta-analysis based on sampling error resulted in a correlation of 0.45, and a correlation of 0.51 was found when accounting for measurement error. The magnitude of the correlation indicates a moderate relationship. Positive correlation results suggest that loneliness can contribute to the emergence of suicidal behavior.

Abstract

Abstract

Forgiveness in the elderly is a complex process influenced by various internal and external factors. Studies on forgiveness in older adults highlight that time, life experiences, and individual characteristics play crucial roles in understanding and practicing forgiveness. This narrative literature review aimed to explain the factors influencing forgiveness in older individuals. The review included eight studies that met the specified inclusion criteria: discuss forgiveness, studying elderly individuals, and published within the last ten years 2014 to 2024. The literature review identified several factors affecting forgiveness in the elderly: (a) religiosity; (b) aging characteristics; (c) time; (d) the nature of transgressions; and (e) obligation to societal and cultural norms. Further exploration of the process of forgiveness among older adults is recommended for future research
