Abstract

Steel ropes are one of the most important parts of a lifting aircraft system. The strength of the steel rope varies, depending on the use and needs. A typical steel rope construction for elevators consists of 8 spins wrapped together, heading left or right with a core in the middle. Each steel rope spin consists of 19 wires which is 9.9.1, meaning 9 wires outside, 9 inside and 1 in the center. The cross-sectional area of steel rope (F152) based on the tensile stress for one steel rope (S) is 1.9 cm. The tensile stress that occurs on the steel rope is (S) = 1773 kg. While the permissible tensile stress is (Smax) = 2800 kg. The actual steel rope breaking strength (P) based on the safety factor with mechanism type and operating conditions (K) is (P) = 9753 kg. Steel rope used type: 8 x 19 = 152 + 1 Fiber Core with specifications: steel rope diameter (d) : 10 mm, rope weight (W) : 1.15 kg / m, steel rope breaking load (Pb) : 15,400 kg, rope breaking stress (σb) : 140-159 kg / mm². Because the tensile stress (S) = 1773 kg is smaller than the permissible tensile stress (Smax) = 2800 kg, it can be concluded that the steel rope is safe against the tensile load that occurs.

Abstract

The growth of oil palm agricultural land until 2017 was 234 479. Ha, with a production productivity figure of 437 292 tons. (BPS 2017) The development of oil palm plants has been developed in several regions in Indonesia and has become a superior plantation crop. Because it has quite high economic value. One factor that needs to be considered in the company's progress is the issue of smoothness. The production process is greatly influenced by the performance of the machines used. PT. Merbaujaya Indahraya is a subsidiary company of PT. MIG is engaged in processing fresh palm fruit bunches into Crude Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil. Fresh fruit bunches are obtained from core gardens and farmers. Core garden with 4 sections of MI Group gardens (MI, Binanga Mandala and Heksa). with a capacity of 30 tons/hour. Processing palm oil into CPO (Crude Palm Oil) has several stations including Loading ramp, Sterilizer, Thresser, Screw Press, clarification, and Kernel. The ripple mill machine is a palm kernel processing machine that is located at the kernel station and is prone to damage, where in the ripple mill machine, the seeds enter between the rotor and the ripple plate being pressed so that they collide with each other and break the shell from the core. So that the core is separated from the shell. This research aims to analyze the performance of the ripple mill machine. From the results of the analysis, an efficiency level of 80% was obtained, with 4 samples taken and varying collection times of around 2 hours within 1 (one) day of production.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to solve the lightning protection system (which has been installed and to determine the effectiveness of the lightning protection system. In this research the evaluation method is carried out using data collection and data analysis methods. Data collection methods consist of, observation, measurement, literature study, and Interview. Data analysis consists of, Building needs for lightning protection, Determining protection, Distribution conductors, and Grounding. The evaluation results show that, based on the index stated in the standard (SNI 037014.1-2004) the Main Power House building really needs a lightning protection system. Based on the estimated danger of lightning strikes with a risk level of R=14 (highly recommended), the use of conventional lightning rods with the protection angle method still requires increased protection in the form of the addition of 5 air terminations (splitzers) on the right, left, front, side and back. and the distribution conductor and earth termination (grounding) for both lightning rods as a whole meet the standards.

Abstract

The World Health Organization (WHO) explains that more than 220 million people worldwide have diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by not producing enough insulin. Treatment of DM is costly and often has side effects that can be detrimental to the body. Therefore, traditional medicine using herbal plants has begun to be developed at this time. A plant that has the potential as an antidiabetic is lemongrass. This study aims to determine the potential of lemongrass plants as antidiabetics. The method used in writing this article is Literature Review Article (LRA). The database source uses Publis or Perrish. The data used are journal articles published from 2013 to 2023. The results of the literature review that has been carried out know that lemongrass plants have potential as antidiabetics. The antidiabetic ability of lemongrass is due to the presence of secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, steroids, alkaloids, and triterpenoids contained in lemongrass plants that have the ability to reduce blood glucose levels.

Abstract

Xylanase is an extracellular enzyme that is capable of hydrolyzing xylan (hemicellulose) into xylose and xylo-oligosaccharides. Xylanase can be produced by microbes through a fermentation process, the microbes used are thermophilic bacteria. Thermophilic bacteria are microorganisms that are capable of producing thermostable enzymes through fermentation. The bacteria used are MSS11, MS 16 and MS 18. These thermophilic bacteria can live at temperatures above 45°C-80°C. To determine specific enzyme activity, enzyme and protein activity values were tested using a 540 nm (enzyme) and 750 nm (protein) septovotometer. The method used in this research is descriptive in triplicate. The research was carried out at the Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Padang State University on December 23 2023. Beechwood medium which had been mixed with MSS 11, MS 16, and MS 18 bacteria was then incubated at temperatures of 55℃, 65℃ and 75℃ so that specific enzyme activity was obtained. Of these three temperatures, the optimum specific enzyme activity of xylanase is 65℃, where the specific enzyme value obtained at 65℃ is 3.31 U/mg. Meanwhile, at low temperatures, namely at 55℃, the enzymatic reaction is slow, namely it has an enzyme activity value of 1.02 U/mg. Finally, at a temperature of 75, there was a decrease in specific enzyme activity, where the specific enzyme activity value was 3.12 U/mg.

Abstract

The main semiconductor materials used are the elements Ge (germanium) and Si (silicon). The element Ge is found in nature in small quantities and silicon is the most abundant element in the earth's crust but its conductivity is low. The semiconductor material that has recently been frequently researched is Copper Tin Oxide (CuSnO3). CuSnO3 has high electrical conductivity and is quite abundant on the earth's surface. The synthesized CuSnO3 semiconductor is applied as a thin layer because of several advantages such as large output voltage, small electrode mass, and also a fairly long service life. This research aims to determine the optical and electrical properties of CuSnO3 thin films synthesized using the sol-gel method with dip coating techniques. CuCl2·2H2O, SnCl2·2H2O, methanol, and monoethanolamine (MEA) are the precursors used. The synthesized CuSnO3 thin layer was characterized using a UV-DRS instrument to determine the band gap value and tested using the four point probe method to determine its electrical conductivity. The band gap values with calcination temperatures of 500°C, 550°C, and 600°C are 2.55 eV, 2.83 eV, and 2.95 eV, respectively, with electrical conductivity of 348.46 102 S/cm, 155.48 102 S/cm, and 107.63 102 S/cm. From these data it can be concluded that the band gap value of the CuSnO3 thin layer will increase when the calcination temperature used is higher, and the conductivity decreases as the band gap value of the CuSnO3 thin film increases.

Abstract

Free fatty acids (ALB) are fatty acids that exist in a free state and are no longer related to glycerol. The method used in ALB analysis in CPO uses the alkalimetric titration method with the principle of determining acid levels using a standard alkaline solution that has known the exact concentration. The data collection process is carried out by calculating the % ALB in open and closed media CPO which is then calculated in excel to find out the comparison of the increase in % ALB so that the graph is obtained. a significant increase occurs in open media CPO because open media is more rapidly oxidized and more susceptible to contamination by air so that there is a faster increase in open media samples so that in open media the smell is more rancid than closed media due to the result of oxidation, namely hydroperoxide which gives a rancid smell and gives a brownish color to CPO.

Abstract

Excessive discharge of heavy metals in the environment can have negative effects on the environment and human health. environment and human health, one of which is the metal ion Zn2+. To overcome the increase in heavy metals biosorption method is used. The purpose of this study is to determine the general conditions of the initial concentration of Zn2+ that can be absorbed by langsat skin as well as the isotherm used. The results showed that optimum absorption of Zn2+ metal ions occurred at an initial concentration of 400 ppm solution and decreased with increasing concentration. The optimum absorption of Zn2+ metal ions occurs at an initial concentration of 400 ppm solution and increases with increasing concentration and decreases when it reaches the optimum state. The maximum absorption capacity obtained was 11.7168 mg/g. The capacity of biosorption of Zn2+ ions fulfills the Langmuir Isotherm equation with R2 of 0.9994.

Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of lightning strikes on the NDB JTM-30C equipment at the Jakarta Air Traffic Services Center (JATSC). NDB equipment is used in flight navigation, but lightning strikes can disrupt operations and flight safety. Data on lightning strikes and disturbances to the NDB were collected and analyzed. The results show a relationship between the frequency of lightning strikes and disturbances to the NDB. These disturbances can affect signal quality, cause temporary outages, or result in permanent damage to the equipment. The potential impact poses risks to flight safety and operational performance. Mitigation measures, regular maintenance, and early warning systems should be implemented to reduce the risks of disturbances caused by lightning strikes. This research provides a better understanding and a foundation for effective mitigation strategies to enhance flight safety.

Abstract

The study aims to determine the effectiveness of the application of video learning media on student learning outcomes in the subject of Electrical Lighting Installation class XI Electricity Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Rao Selatan. This research was conducted because the use of learning media that has been used so far has not shown significant changes in student learning outcomes, this can be seen from the low student learning outcomes, the cause is the teaching factor that is still centered on the teacher so that students are not active during classroom learning. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research by applying the use of video learning media during the learning process to see the effectiveness of student learning outcomes. This research used experimental method. The research subjects were students of class XI TITL 1 and 2 SMK Negeri 1 Rao Selatan who were registered in the 2023/2024 school year, totaling 24 and 23 people in each class. Based on the analysis of student posttest data in the experimental class, as many as 87.5% of students managed to achieve scores above the KKM. The results of the effect size calculation are included in the large category. The t test results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control classes in the posttest test. Thus the implementation of video learning media is declared effective in learning Electrical Lighting Installation.
