Abstract

This study aims to compare two paradigms functional paradigm (structural) vs. structuralism Levi-Strauss. To answer questions about both these paradigms will use a comparative study between functionalism paradigm theory or functionalism (structural) and developed structuralism Levi-Strauss as well as how both of these paradigms look at a structure in understanding the symptoms of socio-cultural community. The discussion of this study describes each paradigm by the basic assumptions, models, and concepts and how each of these paradigms analyzes the social phenomena of culture in society using analysis of different functionalism- (structural ) considers language as all that exists in the community has a social function and integrate structurally, but developed structuralism Levi-Strauss understand the socio-cultural phenomenon kinship system, mythology and socio-cultural issues that exist in society as a structure of the language.

Abstract

The emergence of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) actively empowering women can supplement the lack of implementation of the program of empowerment from the Government. Despite all its shortcomings, a previous Study demonstrated that NGOs are more effective in carrying out empowerment programs with a variety of models and strategies. Mother’s best friend Foundation (YSI) undertook to actively empower women in Yogyakarta and mengooptasi way to implement Islamic values not only on a theoretical level but also practical. This paper discusses how YSI implements Islamic values and the implications for how the process of empowerment. This research uses the qualitative approach method of verstehen to interpret the subject’s understanding of research on Islamic-based empowerment. Data collection techniques using participatory observation and in-depth interviews against informants chosen purposively. The results showed that the application of the values of Islam is more of an approach at once an instrument of women’s empowerment. Islamic practices are applied in the empowerment of such as contracts, pledges, pengajian, and infaq can push the lancarnya through the process of empowerment. The subject of research looked at that program of empowerment is the obligation to family and God. Nevertheless, there are several members resigned because the program prove incriminating. On the one hand, the implementation of Islamic values becomes the driving force of empowerment, and on the other hand, gives rise to a difference of views among the participants and facilitator so it becomes counterproductive.

Abstract

This project involves discovering how spiritual tradition exists in the pesantren in Indonesia. The goal of this research proves the phenomenon that pesantren and spirituality traditions are strongly linked and connected. Several spiritualities in pesantren are; thoriqoh, tirakat, ijazahan, and others. This article is arranged based on library research and comparing several references by some books, articles, and journals. Furthermore, this research also takes some of the experiences of some people who ever study, live, and experience the pesantren tradition in Indonesia (especially in Java). In conclusion, this article tries to explore the argumentation historically and socially that Pesantren and spiritualism have a strong correlation from the beginning of Islamic spreading in Indonesia.

Abstract

Religious fundamentalism that leads to the action of religious radicalism becomes a common event that must be prevented. The religion which should be the source of love, peace, and salvation in human life is used as an instrument of abomination. This can be seen from the recent events of global terrorism acts today. This research has a theme about the role of Pesantren Nurul Ummah in preventing religious fundamentalism-radicalism which is a form of acts of terrorism.The purpose of this research is to know how the role of Pesantren Nurul Ummah in preventing religious fundamentalism-radicalism in the form of acts of terrorism. This research was conducted on foreign students at Pesantren Nurul Ummah, Kembang Belor, Pacet, and Mojokerto. The method used is qualitative The theory used is the Social Construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann. Data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews. The validity of the data was done by using triangulation.The results of this study indicate that the root problem of religious fundamentalism that led to the action of religious radicalism, can be seen from the aspect of a shallow religious understanding. The teachings of Islam contained in the Qur’an and Hadith in their understanding are not adapted to the social context. The role of pesantren in preventing religious fundamentalism radicalism, namely by playing the three functions. Among other religious functions, by giving an understanding of the text of the Qur’an and Hadith by its context, which is called asbab al-nuzul or asbab al-wurud. Then the function of education is by inculcating social values, such as the value of nationalism and pluralism. And the last is the social function, namely to equip students with social activities related to society.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of sexy uniforms for female GAS STATION operators. The phenomenon is there, operational standards and grooming at the GAS STATION 54.801.50 Denpasar, incompatible with the generally happens. The existence of rules for wearing sexy lingerie for women operators became one of the requirements for workers. This research uses qualitative research methods with types of case studies. The phenomenology of theories about the construction of self dissects the motives of the purposes and motives because the property of Alfred Schutz was chosen to analyze this research. The results of this study showed a dar motive cause and motive purpose for the operators of the woman who wears sexy uniforms at the time of work. There are three things the motive cause that is educational, economic, and social conditions. While there are purpose motives pda self-identity and comfort in doing the job obtained in addition to fulfilling the rules of the company.

Abstract

Look at the fact that the conflict is still going on and the need for handling conflicts, especially religious conflicts with a way to enhance the religious harmony that lives on Earth in Indonesia with diverse cultures and beliefs. With a strategy for how to let religious unity could increase and coexist as expected of mankind. This research will be done in Blitar Regency, why so? In addition to the restriction of the problem, in the County, there is a majority religion of Islam which is closely linked to the traditions of Java in Keseharianya and Terdapat variants of religion and places of worship that looks very harmonious. The purpose of this research is to mendiskripsikan the findings of the role of popular culture in Islamic religious unity against Java. The results of this research are to boost religious harmony Lo needs an understanding of the functional theory of the latter is that humans have a sense of berdayaan because of the very limited human presence, ability, time, and power will be limited by the ability of mankind in control and affect the condition of the desire of her life. To realize religious harmony it is necessary policy leadership in favor of the people

Abstract

Education function to develop the ability and form the character and civilization of a dignified nation to educate the nation’s life. This is in line with the values and norms of Indonesian society and is far from materialism, But along with the influx of globalization and modernization, the value and meaning of education are often biased. The occurrence of bias in the interpretation of the meaning of education is caused by social change. research on education bias in the Bima community gives an idea of how education values can not be interpreted well by society. Peter L Berger is one of the sociologists who discussed the whole process of social construction. Using the social construction theory of Peter L Berger, it can be seen that the people of Bima undergo a process of social change consisting of; (a) Changes in education patterns in Bima from Islamic education to secular education, (b) Conversion of society’s high social status, related to education which is a social construction process in Bima society about one’s social status. So from the analysis can be seen that education for the community of Bima has a very important role in determining the position of a person’s social status.

Abstract

Conversion of agricultural land resulted in socio-economic changes for farmers who do the conversion, which would then have an impact on the level of well-being of farmers. The methods used in the writing of this research are qualitative research methods. The result of the writing of this library study revealed that land conversion Conditions farmers ‘ livelihood before and after the existence of the land conversion is seen in terms of revenue is the amount of income of farmers after the land conversion there is increased and decreased from the amount of income before the existence of land conversion. The condition of the housing and kepemilikikan assets haven’t changed much both before and after the existence of the land conversion. At this writing specified the conversion of agricultural land, livelihoods, economic conditions, the income of farmers, and its impact on the level of household well-being of farmers in the countryside.

Abstract

Kampung Islam Kepaon (Islamic Village Kepaon) is an example of an Islamic village. This village is located in the Pemogan area. This village is trying to retain its identity in the middle of life’s complexities of Hindu community dominance. The trace record of the village is historical evidence that still exists in the modern era. Thisresearch aims to know how the actualization of existing community in the village using Abraham Maslow's concept and Max Weber’s theory of Social Action. This research is qualitatively based research using single case studies. Observation, deep interviews, and documentation by photograph are the tools for collecting data. The selected interviewees are the chief of the village, elders, and some selected individuals based on gender and their active role. The results of this research show that the actualization of the Islamic community in the village is so powerful. There are several activities to actualize the existence of the village’s communities who live side by side with the Hindu communities such as the tradition of ngejot, the rodent tradition at Prophet Muhammad’s Maulid ceremony, mekibung, reinforcement of the Balinese language as a form of emerging Bali local wisdom, education-based Islamic, Rebana, and Bleganjur.

Abstract

Salaf pesantren is an institution that is still strongly bound by old traditions. By inheriting and maintain continuity of Islamic tradition developed by scholars from time to time indefinite periodesasinya, has elements which include clerics, students, cottage / hostel, mosque, recitals of classical texts / yellow book, applying the method bandongan, sorogan, wetonan, principled firmly on Islamic education material. Pesantren Salaf urgently need progress in science and technology. Pesantren Salaf there are many who “failed” to preserve its own leadership weights, weak in preparing a “succession” Kyai guardians comparable with the foregoing, let alone exceeded. Answering the needs of the era, schools Salaf open formal educational institutions. Sensitivity pesantren Salaf against the phenomena that appear in the society is a social concern and reflexive owned even are characteristic. So that the aspirations of the people making the boarding school received the development and advancement of science and technology. The real step taken is establishing formal educational institutions from kindergarten through college. The character of a scholar is asceticism and totality. On the other hand, people still expect the efficacy of the function and role of pesantren Salaf like period once, without knowing that it is actually what is expected it is experiencing overcast condition and shrinkage. Expenses are given the added weight and more and more, but the ability to lift a boarding school in general was declining. Source overcast condition and depreciation mainly boils down to the weight and quality of the “clerics who brought up”. Both in terms of science, wisdom, exemplary, sincerity, and shelter to the people.
