Abstract

Exercise plays an important role in maintaining physical health and supporting body development. However, it is a fact that many people start exercising but are not consistent in doing so. One of the factors that influence exercise consistency is motivation. Based on this phenomenon, this study was conducted to analyze the motivation of Point Workout Space Yogyakarta members in exercising at the gym. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with a qualitative approach. The results showed that gym members' motivation is influenced by intrinsic factors such as interest and challenge, as well as extrinsic factors such as body appearance, fitness, and social interaction. However, obstacles such as injury and distance can reduce motivation. The research was conducted at Point Workout Space Yogyakarta for one week, with the main data sources from direct interviews, as well as documentation and observation. Data validation through source and method triangulation ensured the validity of the findings. The analysis showed that understanding members' motivational factors can help gym managers develop effective strategies to increase members' participation and satisfaction

Abstract

ABSTRACT It has been shown that both exercise and environmental stimulation can improve cognitive function and well-being in older adults. However, the combined effects of outdoor exercise on psychological function have not been widely studied. This study aimed to explore the impact of an outdoor cycling intervention on cognition and mental health. A total of 52 participants aged 50-83 years were involved in the study, with 26 as a non-cycling control group, 26 cycling using a conventional pedal bicycle. Participants who cycled were required to cycle at least three times a week for 30 minutes over an eight-week period. Cognitive function and well-being were measured before and after the intervention. Results showed increased accuracy in executive function, updating (Letter Updating Task), in both cycling groups compared to the control group. In addition, participants experienced improved mental health after the intervention, compared to the control group. These results suggest a positive impact of cycling in the outdoor environment on executive function and mental health.

This research uses quantitative research. This research uses a pre-experimental type of experiment using a One – Group Pretest – Posttest design. Researchers used a sample of 1 class XII 7 SMA N 4 Semarang. The data collection technique in this research uses tests. Data analysis uses paired sample tests. The average value of the pre-test results for student learning outcomes was 85.28, while the average value of the post-test results for student learning outcomes was 89.50. This research concludes that differentiated learning has an influence on PJOK learning outcomes in physical fitness material. This can be supported by the results of the paired sample correlation test. The final result obtained was α = 0.000, thus α < 0.05.
