Abstract

A study about the effect of NAA concentrations and sucrose concentrations on in vitro rooting to sugarcane explant growth (Saccharum officinarum, L.) Bululawang varities was conducted on 2 April until 23 July 2018 at Balai Benih Tanaman Perkebunan Kota Salatiga. Research methods that were used is factorial arrangement (4×4) with a completely randomized block design and five replications as block. First factor, four concentration levels of NAA (0; 2,5; 5; and 7,5 mg/l) and second factor, four concentration levels of sucrose (0; 25; 50; and 75 g/l). The result showed NAA concentration level increased number of roots per explant, but decreased fresh weight of leaves per explant and dry weight of leaves per explant. However, 4,7 mg/l NAA concentration level give highest fresh weight of roots per explant and 5,2 mg/l NAA concentration level give highest dry weight of roots per explant. Sucrose concentration level increased dry weight of leaves per explant, fresh weight of roots per explant and dry weight of roots per explant. However, 59 g/l sucrose concentration level give highest number of roots per explant, 46 g/l sucrose concentration level give highest number of shoots per explant, 46 g/l sucrose concentration level give highest number of leaves per explant and 61 g/l sucrose concentration level give highest fresh weight of leaves per explant. NAA concentration level and 50 g/l sucrose concentration level increased number of roots per explant, but NAA concentration level and 75 g/l sucrose concentration level decreased dry weight of leaves per explant. 4,1 mg/l NAA concentration level and 75 g/l sucrose concentration level give highest fresh weight of roots and 4,9 mg/l NAA concentration level and 75 g/l sucrose concentration level give highest dry weight of roots per explant.

Abstract

Sugar cane (Saccharum officinarum L) is the main commodity as raw material for sugar production. Therefore, agricultural land in Java must be able to meet the needs of sugar cane for PG. The common problem when harvesting sugar cane is the lack of cutting labor thus sugarcane felling is not carried out according to the provisions known as the land tight. As a result, the base of sugarcane stalks left long in the field. The base of the sugarcane stem is the rootstock where the yield value is high. This study on the analysis of duration of sugarcane stumps left in the land due to landless cutting is a case study conducted in the Ngadirejo PG area, Kediri Regency. In this study, the variable used is the time spent by the stump of sugarcane left in the field after cutting. Based on the observations at the location of sugarcane harvest, it can be seen that the length of sugarcane stumps remaining in the land was between 6 cm-15 cm, with an average weight of 0.07 kg - 0.3 kg. In the laboratory test, the yield value for the variable after felling was 9.85 immediately, 8.98 at 2 days after harvest, and 4.83 after 14 days. Thus it can be concluded that the longer the base of sugarcane sticks left on the ground the lower the yield value is.

Abstract

A research on the influence of organic material media and latosol soil dose of Merapi’s eruption sand on onion (Allium cepa fa. ascolanicum) was held in October 5th to December 7th 2015 in Taman Kyai Langgeng, Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of Magelang. The  aims of research is to determine the highest yield of onion on organic material kinds and latosol soil dose. The method used was factorial experiment (4 x 3) arranged in a complete randomized block design with three replications. The first factor was the treatment of organic matter cocopeat, husk, and peat. The second factor was the latosol soil dose 0, 2.5 , 5 and 7.5 ton / ha. Variance test by using LSD on the first factor and orthogonal polynomials test for the second factor. The results showed that the cocopeat media 20 ton/ha + mikoriza 10g/ the planting hole gave the highest yield on the fresh weight of roots and weight of dry roots parameters. Husk media gave the highest yield on the tuber number parameters, fresh weight of bulbs and weight dry of bulbs. Latosol soil dose did not give affect to the yield of onion crop. Combination treatment between kinds of soil organic matter with a dose equal latosol responded to the onion crop yield.
