Abstract

Abstract

Pancasila is the legal basis and ideology of Indonesia, which regulates all existing laws, including the freedom of belief. The Indonesian state was founded by national warriors of ethnic, language, cultural, customary, and religious diversity, thereby necessitating the people to exhibit mutual respect and appreciation. Therefore, this research aims to discover the meanings, values, and appropriate practices of the first Pancasila precepts in order to guarantee the right to freedom of belief, religion, and worship. The legal or normative juridical research method was employed by observing previous events and cases and analyzing them with a statutory approach. Subsequently, the results showed that the right to freedom of religion is regulated in the first precepts of Pancasila, where every citizen has the right to choose, embrace, and practice worship according to their beliefs. Hence, every society should cultivate a sense of unity in diversity by respecting and appreciating other religions, as the existence of all beliefs is guaranteed by law and the state.

Abstract

One of the most significant eruptions of Merapi that occurred was the eruption of Merapi in October November 2010 (Pallister, et al. 2013). At that time, the impact of the eruption of Merapi was tremendous. The flow of hot clouds swept the area on the slopes of Merapi. The cleaning of the hot clouds also caused casualties, either death or injury. The eruption of Merapi in 2010, which is indicated as a 100-year eruption period, caused extensive and massive damage and loss of community livelihood assets. Damage and loss assessment is divided into 5 (five) sectors: settlement, infrastructure, social, economy and cross-sector. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. this study uses information on websites, in newspapers, and government reports. These data are used to support the statements given by the interviewees. All documents processed through the NVivo application. The finding of this article is Local governments are considered slow in responding and distributing information. Apart from that, the problem of limited resources has resulted in the obstruction of resource mobilization. Budget constraints, disruption of regional government functions, and the insufficient number of government human resources have resulted in slow mobilization. However, the local government succeeded in optimizing NGO's / NPO's and also volunteers in emergency response efforts. Finally, the government's slow performance was covered by NPO's/NGO's and volunteers. NPOs/NGOs and volunteers have a very significant role in the emergency response to the eruption of Mount Merapi.

Abstract

In the present day there is a rapid growing interest in the arena of Psycho-spirituality and Mental Health. We need to bear in mind that the spiritual is co-extensive with the religious conception. We identify what we call the spiritual life with a concern to acquire holiness and a sense of presence of God through prayer, meditation and yoga practices. Believe in God transform individual’s identity and enhance ego functioning and status of wellbeing.  The cosmic image of ‘The Tree of Life may have been intended to help man in diversity, which in the life of the mind is called the discovery of meaning’. (Needleman, J,1973). Victor Frankl as quoted by Mc Clone, K (2003) stated that substance abuse might be a response to a loss of direction within the individual. Loss of freedom is perceived as the addictive substance claims possession’. Keeping these in mind the author tries to examine the relationship between the mental status and mental functioning of the addicts who have believed in God and those who don’t believe. After welcoming the clients’ mental status examination was conducted.  Appearances and behavior were noted. Some questions were asked and responses were recorded.  Similarly, ego functions assessment was consisted of both observations and semi-structured interviews. Differences are found to be significant at both .05 and .01 level in case of mental status examination, in case of ego functioning it was significant only at .05 level. Results are indicative of recovering addicts who believe in God would see the colorful aspect of life than who don’t believe in God. They adopt a flexible approach for desired success in lives.

Abstract

Although pop music is endorsed as one of the most leisure activities to express feelings and emotions in people’s daily life, song lyrics are usually neglected by linguists and excluded in any of English corpora (e.g., BNC and ANC) that are currently adopted. The current study focuses on an analysis of lyrics based on a Billboard music chart corpus mainly containing American pop lyrics, via both qualitative and quantitative methods, and aims to investigate to what extent the lexico-grammatical features of the words and expressions used in lyrics enable those songs widely accepted by audience. Results reveal that conversational contexts in the lyrics mark a story-telling feature, and help audience easily realize artists’ attitudes and the implications to some events and scenarios.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the extent of the relationship between Arabic grammar and the patriarchal system in the Arab and Islamic society, which is represented in the well-known rule; Masculinity is more honorable than femininity. And the analysis of this relationship is his process under the approach of the philosophy of language, where he sees language as a living being with a linguistic context and a socio-cultural context. The researcher used the analytical and historical description method, taking advantage of the Sapper-Worf hypothesis (each language has a special grammatical structure), and from the theory of the companion Omar Ibn Al-Khattab (that the Arabic language is part of religion). After the depth of the analysis, the research concluded that the pattern of thought for grammatical predominance is like the constituent mind, with evidence that the nature of language is lightness in pronunciation or sound. As for the pattern of thought of the patriarchal system, it is like the made-up mind with evidence that the concepts of the text from the Qur’an and the Sunnah are affected by natural grammatical or abstract linguistic thinking. This research confirmed that the role of grammatical predominance in the patriarchal system is reflected in the level of Arabic-Islamic language and culture, and also that reflection appears in the level of belief and Sharia prominently. It is recommended that the subsequent researchers examine another topic of philosophical value in the same linguistic and cultural context, in order to understand the extent of external consistency in the relationship between the two contexts.
