Abstract

Abstract This study aims to improve endurance in soccer through the development of a VO2Max training module product for special sports class players (KKO) SMA Negeri 1 Slogohimo Wonogiri. The development model uses procedural development. Product trials involved 3 experts with the subjects of 2 soccer experts and 1 learning media expert, small group test subjects 5 soccer players in special sports classes and large group test subjects 15 soccer players in special sports classes, the type of data used is quantitative (questionnaire) and qualitative (interview). The recapitulation of the validation results shows that the soccer practitioner expert gave a percentage of 87%, the media expert gave 87%, and the soccer coaching expert gave 88%. During the small group experiment involving 5 (five) players, the results reached 94%, while in the large group involving 15 (fifteen) players the results reached 95%. Through experiments and validation of each expert, the VO2Max training module that is being developed is considered very valid and feasible to be used as a reference for more interactive and interesting learning in the field of soccer and as a learning reference for soccer coaches.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Circuit Plyometric training on improving the Ap Chagi kick frequency among beginner athletes at the Star Fighter Taekwondo Academy. The main issue addressed in this research is the low speed and number of kicks performed by novice athletes during matches, which affects the effectiveness of attacks and the chances of scoring points. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The subjects consisted of 23 beginner athletes aged 8 to 14 years, selected through purposive sampling. The Circuit Plyometric training program was conducted over six weeks, with a total of 18 sessions (three times per week). Data were collected through an Ap Chagi kick frequency test conducted over a 10-second period before and after the intervention. The results showed an increase in the average kick frequency from 17.35 (pretest) to 21.00 (posttest). The N-Gain score of 0.318 was categorized as moderate based on Hake’s (1998) classification, indicating that the training was reasonably effective in enhancing kick frequency. This effectiveness is associated with the characteristics of Circuit Plyometric training, which involve explosive movements that stimulate leg muscle strength and speed. This research contributes as a scientific reference for coaches and athletes in designing more specific, measurable, and applicable physical training programs. This method is recommended to support the improvement of basic kicking techniques in beginner taekwondo practitioners, both in regular training and in preparation for competition.

Abstract

Cirebon United U14 Training players experience difficulties in dribbling where the ball often falls out or is not well controlled when passing the opponent. Dribbling skills are not only influenced by training but also by potentially influenced by physical abilities such as speed and agility. This study aims to determine the relationship between speed and agility abilities with dribbling skills of Cirebon United U14 Training soccer players. This study used a cross-sectional correlational method with a sample of 30 players aged 14, with a body weight of 50.73 ± 7.34 kg, a height of 164.23 ± 6.94 cm, a body mass index of 18.7 ± 1.7 kg / m2 and training experience of 5.70 ± 1.51 years. The data collection was obtained through tests and measurements consisting of: speed ability test (20m sprint), agility ability (T-test Agility) and dribbling skills (zigzag dribbling). Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation test with the help of SPSS software. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between agility ability (T-test Agility) and dribbling skills with a correlation value of 0.008 (<0.05). However, there is no significant relationship between speed ability and dribbling skills with a correlation value of 0.165 (>0.05) in Cirebon United U14 Training players. There is a significant relationship between agility ability (T-test Agility) and dribbling skills of Cirebon United U14 Training soccer players with a correlation value of 0.008 (<0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze variations in the physical fitness components of university-level basketball athletes using descriptive statistical analysis and performance categorization. Thirty-two athletes participated in the assessment, which included anthropometric measurements (age, height, body mass, and BMI) and physical fitness tests consisting of strength, endurance, speed, power, flexibility, and agility. The descriptive results showed that the athletes had an average age of 20.12 ± 1.15 years, height of 175.50 ± 8.34 cm, body mass of 73.34 ± 7.41 kg, and a BMI of 23.76 ± 1.17 kg/m², placing the majority within the normal weight category. Strength demonstrated a mean of 131.72 ± 9.06, indicating a moderate-to-good level of muscular capacity. Endurance averaged 40.82 ± 2.58, showing relatively stable aerobic performance across athletes. Speed over 20 meters recorded a mean of 3.34 ± 0.20 seconds, reflecting adequate sprint capability for university-level basketball players. Power exhibited higher variability, with a mean of 229.66 ± 19.70, suggesting differences in explosive performance. Flexibility displayed the widest range (M = 25.50 ± 29.25), indicating heterogeneous mobility levels among athletes. Agility showed a mean of 9.10 ± 0.53 seconds, consistent with typical agility performance at this competitive level. Overall, the descriptive findings highlight that the athletes fall predominantly within moderate performance categories across most components, although flexibility and power show substantial individual variability. These results suggest the need for more individualized training programs, especially targeting mobility and explosive strength. The study provides a comprehensive baseline profile to guide coaches in developing evidence-based conditioning strategies to enhance basketball-specific physical performance

Abstract

Taekwondo is developing rapidly in Indonesia, but coaching at the dojang level needs to be evaluated for greater effectiveness. This study aims to evaluate Taekwondo coaching at The Kick Fighter Dojang using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model. The method used was is a qualitative descriptive through observation, documentation and interviews with 1 administrator, 3 coaches, 10 athletes and 2 parents as well as documentation. The results indicate that the coaching objectives meet the athletes' needs, but there are still shortcomings in the facilities and training program. The coaching process is progressing well, despite constraints on time and training intensity. The coaching products demonstrate good athlete performance at the regional level, but need to be improved at the national level. This study provides an overview of the state of Taekwondo coaching at the dojang and provides recommendations for future improvements.

Abstract

This study will be conducted to test the effectiveness of cooperative learning methods in improving the basic basketball skills of fifth-grade preparatory students in a preparatory school in Maysan Governorate. The study design was an experimental one that used two-group design, experimental and control group, which contained pre-test and post-test results. A total of 40 students were used as the sample (evenly split between the two groups); the intervention of the experimental group was eight weeks, two sessions a week. Various tools were used such as a test of basic basketball skills such as passing, shooting, dribbling and ball handling and a performance observation form. The statistical analysis of the outcomes was performed with respect to the descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and t -test of related and independent samples. The results showed that there were significant differences in favor of the experiment group in all the basic skills, which showed that cooperative learning methods had potent impacts in boosting the level of students motor performance. The discussion revealed that the method enhanced social interaction, self-confidence, intrinsic motivation, and cooperation, as per the current educational and psychological theories, such as the theory of Vygotsky (1978) and Johnson and Johnson (2019). The article suggests the implementation of the cooperative learning methods in the physical education classes, educating the teachers on how to apply them, and carrying out similar research to analyze their applicability in other team sports.
