Abstract

The problem faced by the elderly as human aging process is a process and natural. Some problems and disorders that frequently arise or occur in the elderly is declining cognitive function. Cognitive decline in the elderly is usually preceded by decline of memory or memory (forgetfulness) and other cognitive mengggu real life activities. The purpose of this study was to find out: "The correlation between cognitive function and quality of life in the elderly (60-74 years) in Barusari Vilage of South Semarang. This research is a descriptive correlative with cross sectional design. The population in this study is that all elderly people aged 60-74 years.The sampling technique used is total sampling. Bivariate test using chi square test. The results showed that the cognitive function of elderly most categories of serious disturbance (48.1%), and most of the quality of life category is independently as many as 32 people (61.5%). Statistical test results found there is significant correlation between cognitive function and quality of life in the elderly (60-74 years) in Barusari Vilage of South Semarang with p value of 0.000.Based on the results of the study are expected to nursing profession are expected to provide nursing assistance to the elderly who have suffered physical setbacks by helping in order to keep good quality of life and help in order to have good cognitive abilities.

Abstract

There were two f student’s approaches to learning were identified: a deep approach and a surface approach. Based on intrinsic interest in the topic, students taking a deep approach try to understand ideas and seek meaning and understanding. There was no published research regarding assessing student learning process related to problem-based learning in Indonesia. The study will be a significant endeavour in motivating and supporting nursing lecturer in order to evaluating nursing student approaches to learning. This study will be an important contribution to the body of knowledge concerning on students learning method in problem-based learning approach. The research may also serve useful reference tool for future studies especially in Indonesia context. This was a quantitative research question since the outcome was going to investigate undergraduate nursing students’ approaches to learning and academic achievement in problem-based learning context in Indonesia

Abstract

The decrease of iodine salt levels caused the broken from the component of salt. It will be happen when cooking, a wrong cooking process, and a wrong saving way. This study aims to determine iodine salt levels in peoples that have mental retardations at Krebet village, Ponorogo.The study design used descriptive design. with purpossive sampling.The samples is 87 respondents. The tool of data collecting used queistionnaire and observed with Iodine test to know the iodine salt levels. The results of univariate analyzed showed that 51 respondents (58,6%) had good daily iodine salt levels (purple), 9 respondents (10,3%) saved salt in a closed place, 56 respondents (64,4%) consumed daily rough salt, 87 respondents (100%) cooked with water boilling conditions.The results of the study also showed, although peoples has been right when buying the salt, but saving it in a open plastic will make the salt become wet and decrease the iodised salt levels.

Abstract

The second stage of labour is defined as the period from full dilatation of the cervix to the birth of the baby. Prolonged Second Stage of labour greater than 2 hours in primiparous women and greater than 1 hours in multiparous. Nursing management for women with prolonged second stage of labour is providing nursing care both physical and psychological aspec. Case study focused on Wiedenbach Need for Help and Swanson Caring Model on nursing care of prolonged second stage of labour. Applications of Swanson and Wiedenbach theory are implemented and managed to help problem solving for 5 mothers case with prolonged second stage of labour. Therefore nursing emergency action must be done properly and quickly by using the theory of "Need for help" Wiedenbach. With developing the workings of team work , standard setting or pathway of each area so that in case of emergency measures to help can be optimally

Abstract

Nurse have an important good role for safety of patients by monitoring the patients' condition to prevent the occurrence of incidents, provide health education, detect faults and near misses, and perform other tasks to solve a problem of the patients by high-quality care. The problems have been existing in ER related to the implementation of patient safety is that the patient safety has not been accomplished in accordance with the SPO and Patient Safety Guide. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors associated with the performance of nurses in the implementation of patient safety. The research uses analytical descriptive design with cross sectional approach. The number of samples used is 23 respondents with total sampling technique . The calculation results of multiple regression analysis of patient safety knowledge factors have the most dominant influence with standardized ß coefficient of 0.678 and 0.329 meaning that it has a significant effect while the supervision does not. Optimizing the development of the individual nurse requires efforts to increase knowledge and skills in the context of patient safety; therefore, they are able to show high-quality performance.

Abstract

The incidence of hypertension in the region Podorejo RW 8 Ngalliyan in 2014 as many as 85 people, increase in 2015 as many as 110 people from stage I – III, the researchers are interested to doing therapy using warm water with a mixture of salt and lemon grass to lower blood pressure. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect between soaking feet using warm water with a mixture of salt and cymbopogon nardus l. rendle with reduction of blood pressure in patients with hypertension in region Podorejo RW 8 Ngaliyan. Quantitative research manifold quasi experiment with design Time Series Design Without Control. Sampling technique used Purposive Sampling counted 80 people. Data obtained by statistical test using Wilcoxon test. Based on Wilcoxon test showed Z = -8,127 (sistolik) Z = -5,587 (diastolik) and ρ value = 0,000 with α = 0,05. Where ρ value 0,000 < 0,05, so that H0 rejected Ha be accepted. There is any any effect of soaking feet using warm water with a mixture of salt and lemon grass toward reduction of blood pressure in patients with hypertension in region RW 8 Podorejo Ngaliyan. Nurses are expected to be used as a therapy to help people with hypertension to lower blood pressure.

Abstract

Work stress is the distress ecperienced by nurses in the face of work. Job stress ecperienced by nurses if not addressed it will impact on the poor performance and quality of services provided. The purpose of the study was to provide an oveview of nurses work stress in Dahlia II Ngudi Waluyo Hospital Blitar. The method of this study was descriptive with respondents are all nurses at Dahlia II Ngudi Waluyo Blitar with sample size of 22 respondents. The data collection used questionnaires. The result of this study showed that64% of female respondents experienced work stress moderate category, 32,5% of respondents who experienced stress ages were in the range of age 36 – 45 years old, 73% of respondents with level of education was Diploma of Nursing experienced moderate stress, 46% of respondents with working period of 2 – 10 years experience moderate stress, and 59% of respondents who experienced moderate stress category of being a merried respondents. The importants to identifying the work stress at the nurses in the inpatient unit in order to determine the level of work stress experienced and immediately seek solutions to reduce the stress level of nureses in the patient unit. Therefore, management of the stress training was considered important to reduce the stress of nurses in the inpatient unit.

Abstract

Food borne disease (FBD) is a disease caused by consumption of contaminated food. The problem is, school aged children are vulnerable Food borne disease because of household food contamination. This indicates the family hygiene as a food handler mainly mother during preparing the food still need to be improved. The study design used pre experiment one group pre and post test design with a sample of 35 respondents namely, 4th grade students with their parents and 5th grade students with their parentsin Jatirejoyoso Kepanjen Primary School. Demographic data, CFAM (Calgary Family Assessment Model), knowledge, attitudes, practices family and children's self-care agency in PHBS at school were used.The results was an increase in knowledge and attitudes of families, family practice and self child care agency did not change after the intervention CFIM for 4 sessions. CFAM on the functional components of the daily activity was lacking mostly, thus affecting the unchanged practice. While children self-care agency was affected by school environment such as affordability of snacks. Health professionals are expected to optimize School Health Unit program to provide education about clean and healthy living behaviors at the school community (students, teachers and school employees) and family assistance through a cadre.

Abstract

Limitations of the community to pay for health services in cases of degenerative diseases requires a relatively long treatment, thus impacting the ever increasing cases that require follow-up nursing home. This study aims to identify the public health problems which need at service homecare, identify the assets required to service homecare, selecting issues problems with depth analysis of the problem characteristics homecare, define service needs homecare terminology measurable factors include economy and social, formulate design service model homecare (services inside the building and outside the building). Observational method is used in this research. The results of the study identified health issues that have the potential to do homecare is wound care, antenatal care, clean cord care, palliative cases. The model of homecare services need to be developed in the form of discharge planning in RS UMM
