Abstract

Children have the right to receive protection and fulfillment of physical and spiritual needs, but some children are forced to work, which makes children vulnerable to exploitation. The percentage of child laborers who are exploited by working hours has continued to increase from 2018 to 2020. The informal sector is the most chosen sector by child labor, but the informal sector does not have contracts and social protection to increase the opportunities for child labor to be exploited. This study aims to determine the general description, the variables that influence, and the tendency to exploit child labor in the informal sector by working hours in Indonesia. Susenas 2021 data were analyzed using binary logistic regression. The region classification, age of head of household, education of the head of household, and gender of children significantly affect child labor exploitation in the informal sector by working hours.

Abstract

East Java is the province with the largest number of poverty in Indonesia. It was recorded that in March 2020, the number of poverty in East Java was 4.109 million people with a percentage of 11.09 percent. In addition, East Java was selected in 7 priority provinces in efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Extreme poverty is a condition where the level of community welfare is below the extreme poverty line of USD 1,9 PPP. This study aims to identify the characteristics and factors that influence extreme poverty in poor households in East Java in 2020. The method used is binary logistic regression with categories of extreme poor and poor. The results of this study indicate that the provision of Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) has been directed at extreme poor households. Characteristics of extreme poor households tend not to rent a place to live. In addition, extreme poor households tend to have more families than poor households. These results can provide an overview of local governments in alleviating extreme poverty to zero by 2024 through optimizing the provision of assistance, especially BPNT.

Abstract

Health is an important aspect of human development. Life Expectancy is used as a health indicator in the Human Development Index (HDI). The Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia compiles the Community Health Development Index. This index is a more detailed indicator that describes public health. The Community Health Development Index value on the Sumatera island is very diverse, different from other islands in Indonesia. This study aims to obtain an overview of the variables studied, identify spatial effects, analyze the factors that influence the IPKM globally and locally, and identify the Simpson's Paradox phenomenon by comparing the results of the Multiple Linear Regression (MLR) and Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) methods. This research consists of 154 regencies/cities in 10 provinces of Sumatra Island. The results showed that there was spatial heterogeneity, Life Expectancy was influential in 62,99% of regencies/cities on the Sumatra island. Average Length of School, Expenditure per Capita and Total Population each have an effect of 80,52%; 49,35%; 35,71% regencies/cities. There are differences in the direction of influence in several regions on several variables between the MLR and GWR methods. This shows the occurrence of the Simpson Paradox phenomenon. Based on the factors that influence the IPKM, it shows that there is a grouping based on the variables that influence it.

Abstract

As an archipelagic with wide seas it becomes a defiance for Indonesia in regional development, especially for the archipelagic province. Equitable development depends on the precisely identification regional characteristics, so necessary to group regions that have similar characteristics. This research is clustering based on the economic characteristics and fishery potential in the archipelago province in 2020. With the Fuzzy C-Means method, each object has opportunity to occupy each cluster with membership degree to avoid overlapping clusters. The results is are 4 clusters that stop at the 145th iteration. The classification, cluster 1 is a low of economic area and fishery potentioal consist of 27 members, cluster 2 is a high of economic area and fishery potential consist of 28 members, cluster 3 is a medium economic area and high fishery potential consists of 17 members, and cluster 4 is an area of moderate economy and high fishery potential consisting of 27 members.

Abstract

The government has prepared a health insurance program as an effort to improve the health status of the community. The percentage of utilization of health insurance in Lampung Province is the lowest nationally. This shows that the government's efforts in preparing the Health Insurance Program have not been fully utilized by the people of Lampung. Considering that informal workers are vulnerable to risk of accidents, this study aims to obtain variables that significantly affect the status of health insurance utilization for informal workers in Lampung Province in 2020. The data used is Susenas Kor in 2020. The research method used is binary logistic regression. The results showed that the variables of age and regional typology had a significant effect on the status of health insurance utilization. Older informal workers (≥ 46 years) and informal workers who live in urban areas have a higher tendency to take advantage of their health insurance.

Abstract

Rapid technological advances coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic require the adoption of the internet in all non-survey fields. An online survey is a survey that uses an online website-based questionnaire. However online surveys tend to have low response rates. Younger age and behavior affect online survey response rates. Behavior can be researched using Theory of Planned Behavior. Regarding age, Generation Z will be the most involved in online surveys. This study aims to find out the general description of Generation Z's interest in filling out online surveys which are explained based on the Theory of Planned Behavior. The survey respondents in this study were Generation Z (17+). The results were analyzed using binary logistic regression. The results show that Generation Z's interest in filling out online surveys is much lower and the Theory of Planned Behavior can be used to explain Generation Z's interest in filling out online surveys.

Abstract

Sources of funding are the main obstacle in economic development in Indonesia. The government needs to find sources of financial assistance, including from abroad. Foreign direct investment (FDI) is a source of direct income from abroad in the form of investment. However, most of the incoming investment flows are centered in Java. One of the goals of the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) is to increase the distribution of investment flows between Java and outside Java. Therefore, this study aims to determine what variables affect FDI in areas outside Java-Bali. The research method used is the panel data regression method. Simultaneous test results show that the variables of GDP, inflation, HDI, labor, infrastructure, and exports together have an effect on FDI. Partially the variables that have a significant effect on FDI in areas outside Java-Bali are GRDP, inflation, HDI, and exports variables. Meanwhile, labor and infrastructure variables have no effect on FDI.

Abstract

One of the capital in development is human resources. Human development is often related to gender differences which discuss how to achieve gender equality in order to improve human resources without discriminating between men and women. Men and women are equally important to be considered in order to contribute to achieving full human development. Based on BPS data, there is a gap in human development outcomes based on gender as measured by the Gender Development Index (GIP) and the IPG achievement in 2020 has not met the targets of the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection and there are still many provincial GPIs that are below the national GPI. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence Indonesia's GPI in 2020 using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study show that female TPT and sex ratio have a significant effect on Indonesia's IPG in 2020, while female APS 16-18 years and the percentage of women who experience health complaints have no significant effect on Indonesia's IPG in 2020.
