Abstract

In 2021, all provinces in Sumatera had a lower early childhood education gross enrollment rate achievement compared to the national level, and the achievements varied among the districts/cities within them. This indicates that preschool participation in Sumatera is still low and uneven. However, the supporting infrastructure for preschool education in Sumatera is relatively adequate compared to other islands. The aim of this study is to determine the variables at individual and district/city level that significantly influence preschool education participation status in Sumatera, along with the magnitude of their influence. The analytical method used is multilevel binary probit regression. The results found that variables such as child's gender, child's age, classification of residence, household per capita expenditure quintile, household size, mother's internet usage status, mother's highest education level, and teacher-to-child ratio for children aged 3-6 years have a significant influence on the preschool education participation status in Sumatera Island in 2021.

Abstract

Food vulnerability is one of the keys to the second goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Food vulnerability is a condition of insufficient food to meet physiological needs standards. Food vulnerability in Indonesia will reach 4.85% in 2022. In fact, this figure has not yet reached the 2020-2024 target set by the Ministry of Agriculture of 4%. Therefore, it is necessary to predict food vulnerability in the future. One of the statistical methods that can be used to predict data with qualitative dependent and quantitative independent variables is discriminant analysis. This study uses secondary data from the official website of the food agency. The results of the study show that in the highly vulnerable districts/cities, the majority of households still do not use clean water. The test results show that there is a significant difference between the percentages (poverty, food expenditure, no electricity, no clean water, and stunting) with the three food vulnerability index categories. The percentage of poverty and households without clean water has the greatest contribution to food vulnerability with an accuracy of 82.43%.

Abstract

Wasting is a form of malnutrition that is dangerous for children. The results of the 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Study (SSGI) show that the prevalence of wasting in toddlers in Indonesia is 7.1 percent. This figure has not met the WHO target, namely the prevalence of wasting below 5 percent. In 2021, Aceh Province occupies the third position with the highest prevalence of wasting nationally and is the only province in the Western Region of Indonesia (KBI) that has a prevalence of wasting above 10 percent. If we look at it by district/city, we can see that there are variations in the prevalence of wasting between districts/cities and indicate a regional influence on wasting. The purpose of this research is to find out the general description of the incidence of wasting in children aged 0-59 months (toddlers) in Aceh Province in 2021 and the variables that influence it and its trends. Through a multilevel binary logistic regression model, it was found that gender, birth weight, history of diarrheal disease, and the ratio of health facilities had a significant effect on the incidence of wasting in toddlers in Aceh Province in 2021.

Abstract

In production activities, energy companies need sufficient funds, one of which is by issuing stocks. Before investing, investors pay attention to the rate of return and risk, such as financial losses. In addition, the volume of stock trading is also used to assess the performance of a stock. The Covid-19 pandemic affects the risk of stocks in the world's energy sector, including Indonesia. The news about Covid-19 that mutated gave rise to investor panic, so that the volatility (risk) of stocks increased. This study aims to identify the existence of stock risk and the relationship between stock risk with the volume of energy trading in the energy sector in the Covid-19 period of the Delta and Omicron variants. The results showed that the risk of the energy sector shares was identified in the Delta period. The risk of the energy sector is quite stable, and suitable for risk aversion. It was also obtained that there was a positive relationship between stock risk and the volume of stock trading in the energy sector in the Delta period where the increase or decrease in the volume of stock trading, was followed by an increase or decrease in the risk of the energy sector stocks.

Abstract

So far, the recording of tourism facilities uses the survey method with several drawbacks, so that web scraping is an alternative for collecting data on tourism facilities. This study aims to collect data on tourism facilities using Google Maps web scraping, find out distribution patterns and tourism potential, and analyze the affordability of accommodation locations and food and drink providers to tourist attraction objects. The results showed that there were 5,149 accommodations, 2,085 tourist attraction objects, and 4,421 food and drink providers. Tourism facilities are clustered in South Bali. Gianyar, Badung and Denpasar are potential areas in the tourism sector. For buffer analysis, a 5Km ring buffer was used, resulting in 99.94% of accommodation and 99.95% of food and drink providers in Bali Province being very close to tourist attractions. Meanwhile for the 20Km buffer, it was found that all accommodation and food and drink providers in the Province of Bali are within reach of tourist attractions. Buffer analysis was also carried out with ring buffers μ+σ, μ+2σ, and μ+3σ, there were 97.79% of accommodations and 98.62% of food and drink providers in Bali Province that were accessible by location.

Abstract

Statistics Indonesia provides official statistics on rice harvested area for making government policies on food security. One of the problems encountered in collecting data on rice harvest areas is that it requires a high cost. This study aims to reduce ASF survey costs through a combined method of direct observation on odd months and indirect estimation through modeling on even months. We developed a multinomial logit model for panel data by adding the autoregressive effect and Sentinel-2 spectral indices. The research location was in Seruyan Regency, Kalimantan Tengah, with 144 observation points, and was observed for 37 months from December 2018 to December 2021. The results showed that the ASF observation estimation using the developed model was better than the model without Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and the ordinal pattern method. The average accuracy of the developed model was 84.14 percent. The highest level of sensitivity was to estimate the harvest category, fallow phase, and non-agricultural land. Statistics Indonesia can consider this research to reduce the cost of collecting ASF Survey data.

Abstract

Data from censuses and surveys conducted by the Central Statistics Agency are urgently needed in various fields, one of which is in projects carried out by government agencies or researchers. The purpose of this research is to build a system that is used in microdata processing. This system provides microdata access to data users but users do not get these microdata files which can be taken home and cannot be accessed at any time through the user's device. Users can only do processing and get output from microdata processing. At the implementation stage, two applications were produced in the BPS DataLab system, namely applicationswebsite and desktop applications. Applicationwebsite used for account requests and requestsproject. Desktop applications are used to limit the user's time in processing data, triggers to start screen recording and restart the computer, and upload files resulting from data processing. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the BPS DataLab system has fulfilled the research objectives

Abstract

Extreme poverty is a global issue contained in SDG's first goal. Indonesia through the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K) is committed to eradicating extreme poverty, namely zero percent by the end of 2024. Based on the results of the 2021 TNP2K study, 5 districts/cities in Maluku were selected as priority areas for extreme poverty eradication in Indonesia. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of household characteristics on extreme poverty status in Maluku in 2021. The results of the study using data from the March 2021 national socio-economic survey (Susenas) and the binary logistic regression analysis method show that at a significance level of 5 percent the number household members, building resilience, occupancy density, main source of lighting, and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) have a significant effect on the extreme poverty status of households in Maluku in 2021. In conclusion, to eradicate extreme poverty in Maluku, the government can prioritize improving the quality of facilities and supporting infrastructure for inter-island connectivity in Maluku, clove and nutmeg productivity development, industrialization of the fisheries sector through Lumbung Ikan Nasional (LIN) in Maluku, increased counseling on Keluarga Berencana (KB) program, KB villages, a livable housing program both from the aspect of building resilience and density housing, equitable access to electricity, and evaluating the list of beneficiaries of the BPNT program. For the sustainability of this research, regional variables such as village funds can be considered.

Abstract

From 2014-2021, the poverty gap index in Indonesia shows a stagnant trend because poverty alleviation is still not focused on the poverty gap index (P1). Java Island, which is the center of government and economy, still has poverty problems. In 2019-2021 the poverty gap index (P1) for the Provinces of Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region and East Java is always above the national figure and shows an upward trend. The purpose of this study is to see an overview and find out which variables significantly influence the district/city poverty gap index in the Provinces of Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, and East Java by considering spatial effects. The analytical method used is spatial regression with Spatial Error Model (SEM). Based on the results of the study, areas with a high poverty gap index were clustered in the northern region of East Java Province and the western region of Central Java Province. Variables that significantly affect the poverty gap index are GRDP per capita, the percentage of households using their own latrine, and the average length of schooling.

Abstract

Basic iron and steel (ISIC 24101) is one of the important commodities in the development process in Indonesia and its use in the construction sector reaches more than 75 percent. However, Indonesia still imports to fulfill domestic consumption. The production process is suspected to be inefficient. The purpose of this study is to identify the presence or absence of technical inefficiency in the basic iron and steel production process and its determinants using secondary data from the results of the 2017 Annual Survey of Manufacturing Industry Companies with the unit of analysis being large companies, and the Stochastic Frontier Analysis approach. The results show that the production process of basic iron and steel in Indonesia is not yet efficient. The majority of large companies have a medium level of efficiency. Companies that operate for a full year tend to be inefficient in their production process activities. On the other hand, large companies will also tend to be inefficient in their production process if they do not carry out R&D activities and do not innovate their products.
