Abstract

Palm oil is one of Indonesia's leading export commodities. The important role of palm oil exports is one of the backgrounds in this research. The purpose of this study is to determine the determinants or factors that affect the volume of palm oil exports in Indonesia in the period 2016 to 2019. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis and inferential analysis using the Error Correction Mechanism (ECM) approach model. The results showed that all research variables were cointegrated with each other. Then in the short term and long term with a significance level of 10 percent, only the rupiah exchange rate against the US$ variable significantly affects the volume of Indonesian palm oil exports.

Abstract

Complete basic immunization is the target of the 2020-2024 RPJMN and is one of the single deprivation indicators of multidimensional poverty, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 1.2.2*. However, only about 57.17 percent of children aged 12-23 months received complete basic immunization in 2020. The availability of health facilities in Java and Bali is more than in other areas, but only Bali Province has met a minimum of 80 percent of the target for the complete basic immunization program. This study was conducted to calculate the estimated value of the complete basic immunization indicator to the district/city level which can be used as a reference in determining priority areas for the complete basic immunization program. The method used is Small Area Estimation of 128 regencies/cities in Java and Bali using Susenas 2020 data for direct estimates and Podes 2018 as explanatory variables. SAE modeling is carried out in two ways, namely by combining all districts/cities in Model-1 and separating districts and cities in Model-2. The calculation results show that there are differences in the explanatory variables used in Model-1 and Model-2. However, Model-1 modeling produces an RSE value 25% more than Model-2 so it can be said that the modeling is more effective.

Abstract

Indonesia's basic metal industry has a strong role in GVC in accordance with basic metal resources, which are among the largest and are driven by RCEP with superior structural and economic conditions. This study aims to analyze the participation of Indonesia's basic metal industry in GVC using input-output analysis and to analyze the influence of structural and policy factors using the Gravity Panel Model. The participation of Indonesia's basic metal industry in GVC tends to fluctuate and is dominated by forward participation, which plays a role in the upstream sector. The estimation results show that total participation in GVC is influenced by market size, economic distance, quality of institutions, downstream policies, and participation in RCEP. Forward participation is influenced by market size, economic distance, and level of industrialization. Meanwhile, backward participation is influenced by market size, economic distance, level of industrialization, quality of institutions, downstream policies, and participation in RCEP.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought Indonesia's poverty reduction trend to a halt. The implementation of the PSBB policy to prevent the massive spread of the Covid-19 virus turned out to have resulted in an increase in the poverty rate in 2020. As the center of the spread of the virus, the island of Java was most affected. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the conditions of poverty before and during the Covid-19 pandemic and to find out the factors that affect poverty during the Covid-19 pandemic on the island of Java. The dependent variable used is the percentage of poor people, while the independent variables are economic growth, TPT, HDI, and the percentage of informal workers. The analysis was carried out using the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) method. The results of the analysis show that before the pandemic, the majority of Java Island had moderate poverty status, but in 2020 the majority were in high status. From the test results obtained that the GWR model is better than the RLB model. The partial test of local coefficients shows that economic growth has a positive and negative effect, TPT and the percentage of informal workers have a positive effect, while HDI has a negative effect on poverty.

Abstract

Youth unemployment is one of the important issues in today's employment. In August 2021, the open unemployment rate (TPT) of young age group was 19.55 percent. In other words, one in five youth labor force was unemployed. In fact, this figure is five times higher than the adult age group. The young age group is expected to be productive so as not to become a development burden because Indonesia has entered the era of the demographic dividend, which is the time when the dependency rate is lowest due to the large increase in the productive age group which is expected to take place in 2012-2037. Using binary logistic regression analysis, this study aims to analyze the effect of certified training, graduate characteristics, and disabilities on youth unemployment in Indonesia. The results showed that partially, using the socio-demographic control variable, the youth labor force who had attended certified training in the past had a lower tendency to be unemployed. On the other hand, those who are classified as fresh graduates and have disabilities have a higher tendency to be unemployed. Certified training plays an important role in increasing knowledge and skills so that they are more ready to work. For those who are fresh graduates who still lack work experience, the employment link and match program can be a bridge to be able to enter the Business and Industrial World (DUDI) according to the majors taken. Furthermore, special programs are needed for people with disabilities to facilitate their access and increase their opportunities to be able to play an active role in the labor market. Keywords: Youth unemployment, certified training, graduate characteristics, disability, link and match employment.

Abstract

Middle Income Trap is a situation when a country manages to get out of the low income level to the middle income level, but the country can't pass to the high income class. Economic stagnation makes it difficult for the country to increase its income which causes the country to enter into a Middle Income Trap situation. The method used is structural equation regression with 2SLS estimation method. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that significantly affect the income of the middle class country, both directly and in total and to find out whether the effect of the economic slowdown significantly affects the difficulty of middle income class countries getting out of the Middle Income Trap situation. The results obtained show that the variables that have a significant direct impact on GDP are investment and HDI. For the total impact, the variables that significantly affect GDP are FDI outflow, exports, CPI, exchange rate, unemployment rate and government effectiveness. From the results of the analysis, it is found that the slowdown in economic income has not been significant in middle-income class countries.

Abstract

The corona virus or Covid-19 attacks almost all countries in the world, as well as Indonesia. The Indonesian government has implemented several policies to deal with the spread of the Covid-19 in the community, namely by mass vaccination. The implementation of mass vaccination has become trending on Twitter. This study aims to analyze the sentiment of mass vaccination in Indonesia using a comparison between Naïve Bayes, Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM) methods. The results showed that SVM classification method has F1-Score Weighted Average higher than other methods, which was 84%. In addition, it can be concluded that most of the community is pro against the implementation of mass vaccines. So, SVM method can be used by the government to classify public sentiment towards the next mass vaccination and basis for the government to maintain this mass vaccination program as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Abstract

The dynamics of land use change implies changes that occur and the use of resources in an area. Gayam District, because of the division, has succeeded in becoming a sub-district with a high level of economic change with the presence of an operating oil and gas drilling area. The purpose of this study was to identify the contribution of the oil and gas industry to changes in land prices in Gayam District. Methods of data collection is done by observation, interviews, and secondary data. This study uses quantitative methods with descriptive statistical analysis, spatial, and spatial statistical modeling to obtain a model of the impact of industrial activities on land prices. This study results that the Spatial Lag Regression Model can explain the model up to 89.21%. It is concluded that the Spatial Lag Model provides the best value in explaining the land price model in Gayam District. However, there are still indications of bias variables in non-built areas, number of facilities, and pollution. Therefore, it can be concluded from this modeling that there is no convincing evidence that oil and gas drilling activities have an impact on land prices.

Abstract

The Academic and Student Administration Section (BAAK) is one of the implementing elements of the STIS Statistics Polytechnic administration and has responsibilities, one of which is student services. The service process in the student affairs department is still done manually, for example in the Data Request Letter (SPD) and Student Certificate (SKM) services. Service requests are made via email or directly in the BAAK room, the service request review process has not been computerized so that it is prone to errors and is not efficient and the approval progress is not monitored by the user. This study aims to design and build a progressive web-based student service information system with the hope of being able to meet the needs of BAAK's student business processes. The development of this information system is carried out using the modified eXtreme Programming method and RESTful MSOAM. Based on the evaluation results, it is known that the system has implemented the proposed business processes for SPD and SKM services, has met 90.77% of the acceptance criteria for user requirements, has met PWA requirements, and has met the 4 core principles of service-orientation and the principle of reusability.
