Abstract

This study aimed to determine an overview of informal workers in Indonesia and its determinants through specific analysis. The data used are data from The National Labor Force Survey and The National Socio-Economic Survey using quantitative research methods and descriptive and inferential analysis methods. The data analysis used was multiple linear regression analysis using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method using R studio. The results of this study indicate that there are more informal workers than formal workers. primary education completion rate and average hourly wages of workers have a significant negative impact to Informal workers percentage. In contrast, percentage of poor population influenced positively to informal workers percentage.

Abstract

Underweight is a form of nutritional disorder caused by an imbalance between the body's needs and nutrient intake. Underweight is more vulnerable to children under the age of five. Central Java is one of the provinces that has the highest prevalence of underweight children among other provinces on the island of Java. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the prevalence of underweight in Central Java in 2021 by considering spatial effects using data from the Central Java Health Service in 2021, the Central Java BPS in 2021, and the Central Java Data Portal in 2021. The model used in this study this is a spatial autoregressive model (SAR). The SAR model obtained shows that the percentage of infants with low birth weight, the percentage of children with complete immunization, the percentage of antenatal care visits according to program recommendations and the percentage of children under five weighed significantly affect the prevalence of underweight.

Abstract

One of the objectives in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda is to achieve the eradication of hunger, improve food security, enhance nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. However, environmental quality can influence the productivity and accessibility of food crops for communities. This study aims to investigate the impact of the environment on productivity and calorie consumption in 32 provinces of Indonesia using ensemble clustering and logistic regression with Penalized Maximum Likelihood Estimation (PMLE). The research findings indicate that 15 provinces in Indonesia have calorie consumption below the standard caloric sufficiency and exhibit below-average productivity for rice, corn, and chili compared to the national average. Furthermore, the logistic regression analysis with PMLE reveals that air and water quality positively and significantly influence food productivity and calorie consumption levels.

Abstract

Significant technological developments have had a major impact on various aspects of life, including data collection and processing. With the presence of technology that produces Big Data and the Internet of Things (IoT), data can be obtained in real time at a relatively low cost. IoT as a source of Big Data has the ability to collect various data, such as text, images, video and sound automatically and continuously. In the context of agricultural statistics, the application of IoT and Big Data has significant potential. Accurate and real time data collection and analysis is critical to optimizing agricultural production, increasing efficiency, and meeting the challenge of climate change. This research will examine how the opportunities and challenges of IoT as a source of official statistics carry out a literature review. Based on the existing literature, it can be concluded that the use of IoT in agricultural statistics can provide great benefits, but care must be taken to maintain the integrity and credibility of official statistics data.

Abstract

Wasting is a serious problem because it has a significant impact on various sectors of life, especially hindering the progress of individuals and human resources in a country. The highest waste incident in Indonesia is in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the factors that influence the incidence of under-five wasting in NTT Province in 2021. The research method used is multiple linear regression. The research findings show that the percentage of extremely poor people, the percentage of women who give birth to babies with low birth weight, and the percentage of two-year-old babies who have ever been breastfed have a significant effect on the percentage of toddlers wasting. As a solution, it requires a collaborative effort from governments, health agencies, civil society organizations, and the community as a whole to tackle the problem of wasting and improve the health and well-being of children.

Abstract

Quality education is one of the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Services to education can be provided from an early age to prepare for further formal education. Susenas produced an estimator of the Gross Enrollment Rate (APK) for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) to describe the capacity of the country's education system to accommodate students in the early age group. Small area statistics urgently needed to create policies that are more right on target. Central Java province has APK PAUD based on sex which is still inadequate for all districts/cities based on the Relative Standard Error (RSE). Therefore, this study applies indirect estimation to improve the precision of the direct estimator using Small Area Estimation (SAE) with measurement error (ME) using Hierarchical Bayes (HB) Normal distribution and Hierarchical Bayes (HB) Beta distribution. The results of this study indicate that the estimated value using the HB ME Beta method is more precise than direct estimation and SAE HB ME Norm estimation.

Abstract

The prevalence of undernourishment (PoU) is one of the strategic indicators in achieving SDG Goal 2, which is zero hunger. The percentage of the population experiencing undernourishment in Indonesia has been increasing over the past three years. In 2020, 8.34% of the population experienced undernourishment. This number slowly rose to 8.49% in 2021 and sharply increased to 10.21% in 2022. Based on these findings, this research aims to identify patterns and factors influencing PoU. The distribution of PoU values among provinces shows a tendency of similarity in values among neighboring provinces. Based on the Spatial Durbin Model (SDM) regression analysis, it is known that significant variables affecting the prevalence of undernourishment are population density in the availability dimension, open unemployment rate and percentage of good roads in the access dimension, life expectancy at birth in the utilization dimension, as well as economic growth and average rainfall in the stability dimension.

Abstract

Maternal well-being is important because it affects the quality of life of children. In reality, the level of maternal well-being in Indonesia is still relatively low. This is evidenced by the Maternal Mortality Rate in 2020 of 189 deaths per 100,000 live birth which is still far from the SDGs target. In addition, the level of maternal well-being in Indonesia was ranked 112 out of 179 countries in the world in 2015. A measure is needed that can show the level of maternal well-being in each province to facilitate monitoring of government performance related to improving maternal well-being. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Maternal Wellbeing Index (MWI) in Indonesia in 2021. The stages of compiling the Index refer to the guidelines for the formation of composite indices by the OECD using factor analysis. The results showed that the Maternal Wellbeing Index is composed of three dimensions, namely reproductive status, health service use, and socioeconomic status. The province with the highest MWI is DI Yogyakarta, while the lowest IKI is in Papua Province.

Abstract

One of the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) includes improving nutrition to overcome the many cases of hunger that occur in the world. Fulfillment of nutritional needs can be obtained by diversifying food. In Indonesia, food diversity is described by the Expected Dietary Pattern (PPH) score. In 2022, the PPH score experienced a substantial jump compared to the previous year, namely by 5.7 points. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the PPH score and the condition of food diversity. The method used is cluster analysis with the Bicluster CC algorithm and multiple linear regression. The results of the study show that there are two regional groupings in Indonesia which are divided into areas with high food diversity in five provinces on Java Island and areas with low food diversity. The analysis that has been carried out also shows that there is a significant positive relationship between per capita spending and school enrollment rates on PPH scores.

Abstract

Central Java Province is the fourth most populous province in Indonesia, so with a dense population in an area, it is important to pay attention to household consumption expenditure according to the second SDG goal, namely no hunger. The purpose of this study was to look at the distribution of household food consumption expenditures in Central Java and analyze the socio-economic and health influences on household food consumption expenditures. The data used is secondary data from the publication of the Central Java Statistics Agency in 2020. This study used multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the open unemployment rate and the percentage of households with proper sanitation significantly increased household food consumption expenditures. Meanwhile, the dependency ratio significantly reduces household food consumption expenditures.
