Abstract

The results of Basic Health Survey show that the prevalence of adult obesity in Indonesia among people over 18 years of age has doubled from 10.5% in 2007 to 21.8% in 2018. We use data the prevalence of adult obesity as dependent variable and 10 independent variables of socio-economic, food security, and obesity-related risk factors in each regencies/cities in Indonesia. The results showed that there was spatial heterogeneity in prevalence of adult obesity in 514 regencies/cities in 2018. Using Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR), consumption of fatty foods had a positive effect on prevalence of adult obesity in all regions, in contrast to the average length of schooling, consumption of vegetables and soft drinks which only had effect in 501, 448, and 425 regencies/cities. Meanwhile, the poverty percentage, Food Security Index, consumption of instant noodles, and physical activity have a negative effect in 509, 458, 331, and 257 regencies/cities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) is a regression model that takes into account spatial effects in modeling the relationship between the response variable and the independent variable due to spatial heterogeneity in the data studied. The unemployment rate by regency/municipality in Java Island shows spatial heterogeneity so that the GWR modeling appropriate to be applied in determining the factors that influence the unemployment rate. The results show that the number of residents, the number of workers in the agricultural sector, the regional minimum wage, the mean years of schooling, and the labor force participation rate have different effects for different locations, while domestic investment has no significant effect on the unemployment rate either globally as well as locally. The application of the GWR model is better than the ordinary regression model based on the Akaike information criterion.

Abstract

Poverty is a multidimensional problem that occurs in Indonesia. Poverty is closely related to the level of food security in an area. Eastern Indonesia is a concern because of the high poverty rate. The purpose of this research is to look at the constituent variables of food security that have a significant effect on the percentage of poverty at the regency/city level in Eastern Indonesia. The spatial heterogeneity identification carried out shows that the use of the Geographically Weighted Regression (GWR) model is better than multiple linear regression to show the relationship between the variables constituting food security and the percentage of poverty. A local GWR model was generated to see spatial heterogeneity at the regency/city level with a focus on the variable per capita normative consumption ratio (NCPR), the percentage of households with a proportion of food expenditure of more than 65% of income (PP), and its combination with other variables. It was found that the poverty rate at the regency/city level in Eastern Indonesia is influenced by different constituent variables of food security, especially between PP variables with access to electricity and life expectancy.

Abstract

Chilies and onions are the agricultural commodities that are commonly used in daily life. However, fluctuating chili and onion prices can cause market instability and harm farmers when prices drop sharply. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct forecasting to predict the future price of both commodities. This research aims to find the best model for predicting chili and onion prices using the Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) method which is determined based on minimum AIC and BIC values. The data used in this research includes the price of large red chilies, bird's eye chilies, shallots and garlic at the Purwokerto Traditional Market from January 2022 to April 2023. The selected models are ARIMA (0,1,0), ARIMA (1,1,0 ), ARIMA (0,1,0), and ARIMA (3,1,0) respectively for large red chilies, bird's eye chilies, shallots, and garlic. The forecasting model evaluation metrics used are RMSE and MAPE. The value is small enough to indicate that the model is appropriate. Based on the forecasting results, the price of chilies and onions in the next month will tend to be constant at IDR 55,000 for large red chilies, IDR 55,086 for bird's eye chilies, IDR 45,000 for shallots, and IDR 40,000. - for the garlic.

Abstract

Child labor is a global issue and one of the national problems that requires immediate and continuous action. According to FAO, there is a link between poverty and food security for child labour. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of seeing whether food security, which is approached by the variables of poverty, food expenditure, length of education, and income, has an effect on child labour. The method used is panel data regression which in the end the FEM model was chosen as the best model in achieving the research objectives. In this study, the results showed that empirically the poor had a positive effect, spending on food had a negative effect, length of education had a positive effect, and income per capita had a negative effect. So it can be said that food security has an influence on child labour.

Abstract

Indonesia has a large potential tourism industry so the government needs to promote it well through technology-based tourism information management. In addition, there is a need for a forum to disseminate the results of tourism information management to the community by integrating it with the Webentry and Wilkerstat systems. Based on this, it is necessary to build a web-based tourism directory system at BPS. The design of the system interface uses the card sorting method to organize the layout of features based on the principle of visual and information hierarchy. Then, there is the use of Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (REST API) to implement public information disclosure. Then, the tourism directory system is built using a three-tier client-server architecture with the CodeIgniter 3 framework and Bootstrap 4. The system development method used is the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model. After the system development stage is complete, it is necessary to test the features using the black box testing method and the results are as expected. Furthermore, there is a system usability test using the System Usability Scale (SUS) survey with a final score of 80.17 or good category.

Abstract

Industrialization is considered as a strategy for developing countries to improve their economy. However, industrial activities produce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that have a negative impact on the environment. If the environment is damaged due to industrial activity, it will also affect the industrial sector because of the depletion of natural resources. This study aims to analyze the simultaneous relationship between GHG emissions and industrialization in Indonesia for 1990-2019. The method used in this study is simultaneous equations model. The result of this study indicates that there is a simultaneous relationship between GHG emissions and industrialization. FDI has a positive effect on GHG emissions, while financial development, economic growth, and industrialization have a negative effect on GHG emissions. Human capital and international trade have a positive effect on industrialization while GHG emissions have a negative effect. Economic growth can be a solution to reduce greenhouse gas emissions if environmental conditions are considered.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic at the end of 2019 caused several obstacles to achieve the SDGs. The Prevalence of Undernourishment (PoU), which is an indicator of the second SDGs goal, has increased from 2020 to 2022. This increase is allegedly due to the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted to find out whether COVID-19 was included in the factors that influenced the increase in PoU or other factors that influenced it. The quantitative method used in this study, namely correlation analysis and multiple linear regression to obtain a model that shows how much influence the independent variables used have on the PoU. Based on this analysis, two variables were obtained that had a significant influence on the PoU, namely the percentage of poor people and the amount of rice production. So it can be concluded that even though COVID-19 had an effect on PoU, it was not significant. The factors that have a significant effect on PoU are the aspect of food affordability which is represented by the variable percentage of poor people and the aspect of food availability which is represented by the variable amount of rice production.

Abstract

Tourism has the potential to become a mainstay sector in increasing the economy, so the government settings 10 priority destinations in Indonesia. Positive tourism development is marked by increased visitor, but if we don't pay attention to the environment quality index (IKLH), it will have a negative impact on human survival. Java Island receives the largest foreign investment compared to outside Java Island, so it’s suspected has greater potential of environmental damage. This study to know the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and tourism on the IKLH in priority destinations on Java Island in 2011-2021 using the panel data regression. The result shows that GRDP and average length of stay (RLM) have a positive significant effect on IKLH, because Indonesia has implemented green hotels and ecotourism. Meanwhile, the occupancy rate (TPK) has a significant negative effect on IKLH, because a high TPK means more tourists and energy consumption.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic at 2020 resulted in the collecting process of the KSA Padi survey not running optimally. Alternative sources are needed that do not require officers to go to the field, one of solution is remote sensing. KSA-Hybrid is a new term in the combination of the KSA Padi method and remote sensing. Research with KSA-Hybrid is still rarely carried out and produces a significant difference to the actual situation. This study focuses on the best percentage of the combination between both. The research locus in Lamongan Regency with a coverage period of 2018-2020. The satellite imagery feature sourced from the Landsat-8 satellite. The machine learning model used a random forest with evaluation indicators by accuracy and kappa statistics. The research results obtained accuracy and kappa evaluation values of 72.62 and 64.85 percent. The percentage of the best combination by KSA-Hybrid is 3% because the relative change impact is below 1%..
