Abstract

Per capita vegetable consumption in Indonesia has increased from 54,291 kg in 2018 to 58,477 kg in 2021. This increase highlights the need for more efficient vegetable cultivation systems, such as polyculture, where multiple types of plant are grown in one location. However, the suitability of plants for polyculture systems has traditionally been determined using approximate methods. To address this, the research utilizes the ECLAT algorithm with vegetable production data from BPS to identify which crops are frequently grown together in each sub-district. Furthermore, to identify areas with potential for developing vegetable crop pairs, clustering was carried out using the K-Medoids algorithm. The findings reveal that the most commonly paired vegetable plants in sub-district of Greater Jakarta are "Cucumber & Long Beans" and "Spinach & Kale". These sub-districts were grouped based on crop pair production into 3 clusters with high, medium and low production levels. The research concludes that the highest level of vegetable crop pair production is in Bogor Regency.

Abstract

This study examines the dissemination and perception of economic information in Indonesian online media, focusing on detik.com and cnbcindonesia.com. The complexity of economic information presented in online media can hinder public understanding and lead to misinterpretation, which impacts decision-making processes. Using sentiment analysis and Dynamic Network Analysis (DNA), this research aims to understand how news framing influences public perception of economic data, particularly from the Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). The methodology includes news collection, text preprocessing, and sentiment classification, analyzing news articles published from September to November 2023. The findings reveal a predominance of neutral sentiment in economic reporting, underscoring the importance of accurate and accessible economic reporting for informed decision-making.

Abstract

Adolescent fertility is fertility that occurs in women aged 15-19 years (BKKBN, 2023). Fertility in adolescents has a higher risk of eclampsia, puerperal endometritis, and systemic infections than women aged 20-24 years (WHO, 2023). In addition, babies born to someone who is still a teenager are also greater at risk of premature birth, low birth weight, and neonatal death. In 2022, the incidence of adolescent fertility in rural areas (136,923 women) is higher than in urban areas (74,505 women). The purpose of this research is to determine the general description and analyze the variables that influence the incidence of adolescents fertility in ever-married women in rural Indonesia in 2022.. The analysis method used is binary logistic regression. Based on the results of data processing from Susenas March 2022, it shows that variables that significantly influence the incidence of adolescents fertility in rural areas are age at first marriage, poverty status, contraceptive use, and internet access.

Abstract

Indonesia's economic transformation requires industrialization supported by the capital market as a catalyst. The capital market plays an important role in the economy by relying on information from various sources, including online news, which affects the movement of the JCI. This study aims to detect JCI movement based on online news using transformer models, namely indoBERT-base, indoBERT-large, indoBERT-lite-large, and multilingual-BERT. Data was collected through web scraping from the detik.com page from August 2018 to May 2024. Machine learning models such as Random Forest, Support Vector Machine, and Naive Bayes are used as baseline models. The results show that indoBERT-large and multilingual-BERT have the best performance with an accuracy of 88,60 percent and 95,90 percent. Filtering irrelevant news significantly improves model accuracy. The study concludes that transformer models effectively detect JCI movements, enabling investors to make faster and more accurate decisions, thereby supporting better stock market performance and sustainable economic development.

Abstract

The percentage of elderly people in Indonesia continues to increase, which has an impact on increasing the elderly dependency ratio. Efforts to empower the elderly need to be made so that the addition of elderly people does not become a burden on the young population. Additionally, the health of elderly workers, particularly those with disabilities, must be considered due to their increased vulnerability. NTT, the province with the highest percentage of working elderly and the third highest percentage of people with disabilities in Indonesia in 2022, was chosen for this research. The study aims to identify variables affecting the employment status of elderly people with disabilities in NTT using descriptive and inferential analysis, specifically binary logistic regression. Results show that 21.94 percent of elderly people with disabilities are still working in NTT. Significant variables influencing their decision to work include age, cohabitation status, and type of disability.

Abstract

The Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) is a government policy to realize a living wage for workers. In 2022, 46.12 percent of workers earned less than the UMP. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), the wages of female workers in Indonesia are 23 percent lower than male workers. Female workers in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) in 2018-2022 received wages below the UMP. The purpose of this study was to determine the general description, variables and variable trends that affect the wage eligibility status of female workers in NTB in 2022. The test results using binary logistic regression show that the variables of age, education, experience, working hours, and type of work have an effect while the training variable has no effect. The tendency of female workers to have a inadequate wage is those who have a young age, the last education of junior high school / equivalent and below, no training, no experience, working hours are not full-time, and blue-collar jobs. The government should regularly monitor and evaluate UMP policies and improve national education programs.

Abstract

Poverty is a problem that continues to confront various countries in the world, with no exception in Indonesia. Poverty reduction is the main focus of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), with the main focus not only on the poverty of the national population but also the children who live in it. It is known that 47.39 percent, or almost half, of poor children in Indonesia are dominated by Java Island. Therefore, to be able to realize this target, it is necessary to have data availability in small areas, especially areas with a high percentage of poor children on Java Island. This study aims to estimate the percentage of children aged 0-17 years living below the poverty line at the city district level using the Small Area Estimation Hierarchical Bayes (SAE HB) method. Based on the results, estimation using the SAE HB method is able to produce a better Relative Standard Error (RSE) than direct estimation results.

Abstract

Poverty remains one of the serious issues in East Nusa Tenggara Province. In 2022, the province ranked third highest in poverty rates in Indonesia. One strategy to alleviate poverty is through tourism. This research aims to identify variables from the tourism sector influencing the poverty rate in East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2022, considering spatial effects. The research results indicate a positive spatial dependency on the poverty rate. By applying the Spatial Autoregressive Model (SAR), it was found that the variables number of domestic and foreign tourist, the number of restaurants, and the percapita GDP of tourism have a negative and significant impact on the poverty rate. Meanwhile, the variable number of accommodation does not significantly affect the poverty rate. Additionally, a simple dashboard has been created to display the actual poverty mapping and the results of spatial model estimation of poverty rates in East Nusa Tenggara Province in 2022.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the priority issues addressed by the Indonesian Government. As a region of Western Indonesia, Sumatra Island still has 22 districts/cities with high and very high stunting prevalence status from the results of the 2022 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI). At the same time, the condition of air pollutants in Sumatra also needs to be paid attention to as one of the causes of stunting along with other socio-environmental variables. Therefore, this research aims to determine the influence of socio-environmental variables on the prevalence of stunting in toddlers on the island of Sumatra. The Mixed GWR method was chosen to accommodate spatial heterogeneity in the model so that the results obtained showed that the percentage of women who marry early has an effect on increasing the prevalence of stunting globally. Meanwhile, the percentage of households with access to clean drinking water and the concentration of pollutants in the form of sulfur dioxide and ground-level ozone sourced from satellite imagery data have a local effect in several districts/cities on the island of Sumatra in 2022.

Abstract

Stunting can have a significant impact on the development of human resources in Indonesia. This condition can be a threat to achieving sustainable development. This study aimed to clustering the incidence of stunting and analyze its determinants based on the direct causes of stunting. The data we uses come from Statistics Indonesia and the Ministry of Health’s SSGI report 2022. We perform a clustering analysis using k-means method for descriptive analysis while inferential analysis is described through multiple linear regression model. The result of the study show that there are two clusters formed and three variables that significantly affect the incidence of stunting in Indonesia, which are Low Birth Weight (BBLR), Access to Safe and Appropriate Sanitation, and Complete Immunization. The findings of this study are expected to provide a robust scientific basis for the development of more efficient health policies and programs aimed at reducing stunting in Indonesia.
