Abstract

Oil and gas industry is a sector that has a vital strategic role on national development. East Java is one of the province in Java that has an enourmous potential on oil and gas and has not been optimally explored. Industrial cluster is an industrial development concept that comphrehensively organize the relationship and behaviour of stakeholder in industry so that they can co-operate to increase the competitiveness of the industry. The increasing of industrial competitiveness is supported by completeness and contribution of each industry in oil and gas industial cluster in each java by identifying the behaviour of stakeholder and system in this sector which is described in stakeholder model and value chain model. In this research, lubricant industrial cluster is used as an embryo for developing oil and gas industrial cluster. The complexity of the system in terms of system behaviour will be presented in a dynamic system model, which will make it possible to identify the influence between each variables. The Porter’s Diamond model is adapted to model the behaviour of the competitiveness. The result of this research showed that in increasing the industrial cluster competitiveness some variables are significantly influencing then the others.

Abstract

The vehicle routing problem is investigated by using some adaptations of the variable neighborhood search (VNS). The initial solution was obtained by Dijkstra’s algorithm based on cost network constructed by the sweep algorithm and the 2-opt. Our VNS algorithm use several neighborhoods which were adapted for this problem. In addition, a number of local search methods together with a diversification procedure were used. The algorithm was then tested on the data sets from the literature and it produced competitive results if compared to the solutions published.

Abstract

Composite is arranged from material with function as matrix that has weaker characteristic and material with filler function that has a function to transfer force from load in matrix. Plastic has more advantages than other materials;those are, able to be formed finely, light in weight, easy to get and the price is cheaper relatively. However, the problem is the filler that is involved here is still using fiberglass in which it will disturb human health. Alumina dust used here is Merck by particle size of > 0.063 mm, to get nano size then it would be mixed by Mixer Ball Mill for 50 hours and would be measured for dust grain size with particle size analyzer (PSA), then it is dehydrated in the oven by temperature of 80° C. The percentage of nano alumina for each are 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% ,5%,6% and 7%. Furthermore, it is mixed with PP plastic grain that is conducted by internal mixer to ensure the material distribution evenly, then it is poured in hoper in injection moulding machine that is operated in the temperature of 170° C and is injected in sample test moulding. The result of characterization of tensile strength, modulus elasticity and tensile show the decrement by addition of 2–3% of nano alumina in polypropylene matrix.

Abstract

ISO/IEC 17024 directs Bodies Operating Certification of Person to adopt documented quality management system according to ISO 9001:2008. Bodies Operating Certification of Person that implement ISO 9001 documentation system should have quality objective. Quality objective is wished to be appropriated with institution performance indicators. Therefore, when quality objective is achieved, the institution performance is also good. The problem is quality objective in ISO 9001 is generally explained. This condition pushes Bodies Operating Certification of Person to identify the appropriate quality objective framework. Balance Score Card, a strategic performance measurement management framework that consist of 4 perspectives (financial, customer, internal process, learning and growth) that effectively proven could be solution for that problem. This research is to implement Balance Score Card performance management framework in Bodies Operating Certification of Person’s quality objective. This research is important considering there is no previous research that implement Balance Score Card in a Bodies Operating Certification of Person. The research result shows Balance Score Card based quality objective design with totally 12 quality objectives that consist of 1 financial perspective’s quality objective, 5 customer perspective’s quality objectives, 3 internal process perspective’s quality objectives, and 3 learning and growth perspective’s quality objectives.

Abstract

The energy used as a dryer is usually only a single type of energy. In this case, study is conducted on the natural flowdryer system by using the chimney. This combination of energy utilization of solar energy and biomass that can be used simultaneously or one turns in accordance with the needs or circumstances. It has been tested against a dryer prototype by performing measurements on the temperature of the inlet air and exit on biomass furnace, the temperature of the inlet air and exit on the solar collector, the temperature of inlet air and exit on the drying chamber, the water content of dried material, the temperature of dried material, the surface temperature of inside and outside of wall on drying chamber, and the intensity of solar radiation. Data were collected at an interval of 30 minutes and do the processing of such data. Next made in a graphical form of thermal energy balance and system efficiency versus the time. Results obtained that: the drying time was 7.5 hours. Thermal energy balance versus the time found that the increase of energy losses lead to useful energy reduction system.

Abstract

Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a welding process used for fabrication of pipes, for example spiral welded pipes. The technique can be operated automatically and has a high reliability in many various welding applications. Some factors affecting the strength of weld metals are heat input, current, and chemical composition of filler, flux, and base metal. The present investigation aims to study microstructure-hardness relationship of submerged arc spiral welded steel pipes. Material used in this experiment was API 5L X-52 and API 5L X-60 for spiral welded steel pipes. Welding was carried out using voltage of 35 volt, welding speed of 13,67 mm/s whereas composition Mn on the flux was varied, 1.7; 1.4; 1.4 with Mo and 1.09. Microstructure and hardness were conducted on base metal, weld metal and heat affected zone (HAZ). Results show that, an increase in composition of Mn could be increases the amount of acicular ferrite structure in weld metal. The hardness and thougness number is increase correlated with increase number of Mn, but for the composition Mn as 1,7, the number of acicular ferrite is decrease, the consequence of hardness number is decrease.

Abstract

Compost as an organic fertilizer could improve the physical, chemical, and biological characteristics of the soil in a certain way so that soil mineral was available for plant. The special aim of this research was to optimize the bioremediation process for degradation of pesticide residues at Bedugul Agro-tourism so that organic farming system will be sustainable. Based on C/N, and pH, it could be concluded that better solution for bioremediation of pesticide residue problem was by giving mixed-compost in horticulture cultivation. Deviation of pH in bioremediation process was 0.22, and pH in-situ bioremediation process was between 6.9 and 7.12 or neutral pH. In this condition micro-organism would be effective in degrading pesticide residue. Bioremediation process on pesticide residue of Ditane M-45 at horticulture cultivation deploy with 1.2 g/l/20 m2, 2.4 g/l/20 m2, and 3.6 g/l/20 m2 spraying dosages took place perfectly, which was showed by parameters on development of micro-organism population and the amount of pesticide residues. Pesticide residue of each spraying dosages was 0.25–1.7% at 35 days or this values were under 0.003 ppm.

Abstract

The effect of fluids flow rate onto necessity of current density cathodic protection which characterized using Rotating disk electrode (RDE) model has been researched on an electrochemistry manner. This research was done to AISI 1018 steel as the electrode spinning cylinder-shaped inside aerated dissolvable NaCl 3.5%. using variation spinning rate 0–2000rpm and 25–75° C temperature. Current density cathodic protection necessity determined from the steel interface potential - 800mV with reference anode Ag/AgCl. Experiment result shows that the increasing of electrode rate, cathodic protection current density needs increased due to diffusion layer tare faction and also because corrosion potential become more positive. Higher temperature would increase cathode protection current density needs and makes corrosion potential more negative. Oxygen activation energy value to be diffused onto electrode surface support the corrodibility AISI 1018 toward temperature increment, because cathodic reaction controlled by transfer mass of dissolved oxygen.
