Abstract

The objectives of the research are to describe the types of directive speech acts of the teacher and student in learning and explain a pragmatic meaning of directive speech acts in the interaction of teacher and student in class XI MIPA 2 Pondok Pesantren Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng year of 2020/2021. This research method was a qualitative descriptive method with the purpose of getting an objective description of the teacher and student speech in the interaction of teaching and learning in class XI MIPA 2 Pondok Pesantren Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng. Data collection techniques usedin this study were uninvolved conversation techniques, recording techniques, and note-taking techniques. The data collection technique was used by researcher togain complete data regarding the types of directive speech acts.The researcher carried out the analysis includes four phases: identification, classification, interpretation, and report. Data gained in this study amounted to 16 speeches. There were 4types ofdirective speech acts from 16 speeches: types of directive speech acts questions, command, request, and prohibition. The pragmatic meaning found as follows: sense ofreminding, directing, commanding, pleading, recommending, and criticizing.

Abstract

This research is aimed at knowing whether students‟ speaking ability can be improved by using Two Stay - Two Stray and what are the strengths and weaknesses of Two Stay - Two Stray in teaching speaking in the second semester students of ITKES Muhammadiyah Sidrap in the academic years of 2021. This research uses Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is taken from Kemmis and McTanggart‟s design; it consists of 2 cycles. Every cycle consists of four phases those are: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of this research is the students in IId of ITKES Muhammadiyah Sidrap. Field note, questionnaire, and test are used in collecting the data. There are three tests used in this research, they are: pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 with the standard of students‟ successful was 65. The findings of the research showed that (1) The students‟ speaking ability improved; (2) Related to the field note results showed that the students were more confident and enthusiast in speaking. It can be seen from their participation in the class, in the conversation, and their performance in group work; and (3) Related to the questionnaire result, it is proved that the response of the students toward Two Stay – Two Stray in teaching speaking is 96%. Based on all those findings, it can be concluded that the application of Two Stay - Two Stray can improve the students‟ speaking ability.

Abstract

This research uses quantitative methods and this type of experimental research which aims to test the effect of using Canva media on learning outcomes for students in class X TKJ and Communication at SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. The population in this study were all class X TKJ and Communication students Muhammadiyah Rappang Vocational School numbered 16 people and the sampling technique used was saturated sampling, so the sample in this study was 16 people. The independent variable in this research is the influence of using Canva media (x), while the dependent variable is the learning outcomes of class X TKJ and Communication students (y). This research was carried out in Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang Vocational School. Data collection techniques use observation, documentation, and test Which Then analyzed using mean formula. Based on the results of data analysis, values are obtained X= 84 > value Y = 55 so it can be seen that there is an influence of using Canva media on students' science learning outcomes class X TKJ And Communication vocational school Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang. The results of the research concluded that there was an influence of using Canva media on the science learning outcomes of class X TKJ and Communication SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang students. This shows that the working hypothesis which states that there is an influence of the use of Canva media on the science learning outcomes of class X TKJ and Communication at SMKS Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang, is accepted
