Abstract

General Background: Bullying remains a persistent problem in junior high schools and threatens students’ psychological well-being and social development. Specific Background: Schools require preventive interventions that address emotional regulation, empathy, and prosocial behavior rather than relying solely on disciplinary approaches. Knowledge Gap: Although psychoeducation has been widely recommended, evidence regarding the structured program “Stay Cool, Don’t Be Cruel: Upgrade Yourself, Not Put Down Your Friends!” in Indonesian junior high school settings remains limited. Aims: This study examined whether the psychoeducational program reduced bullying behavior among students at Muhammadiyah 5 Junior High School, Tulangan. Results: Using a one-group pre-test–post-test design, 30 eighth-grade male students were selected through purposive sampling and assessed using a bullying scale. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test results showed a significant decrease in bullying behavior after the intervention (Z = -4.789, p = 0.000). Novelty: The program integrates interactive lectures, group discussions, educational games, role-play, emotion regulation training, and behavioral commitment within a four-session school-based intervention. Implications: The findings indicate that psychoeducation can serve as a practical preventive strategy for reducing bullying and fostering a safer, more inclusive school environment. Highlights: Significant reductions in bullying scores were observed after four psychoeducation sessions. The intervention combined emotional regulation, empathy building, and prosocial behavior training. School-based psychoeducation offers a practical preventive approach for safer student interactions. Keywords: Psychoeducation, Bullying Behavior, Emotion Regulation, Prosocial Behavior, Junior High School Students

Abstract

General Background: Psychological well-being reflects the realization of an individual’s psychological potential through self-acceptance, positive relationships, autonomy, environmental mastery, purpose in life, and personal growth. Specific Background: K-pop fandom has become increasingly prevalent among Indonesian young adults and may provide both beneficial and maladaptive experiences that are associated with psychological well-being. Knowledge Gap: Although previous studies have examined the relationship between celebrity worship and psychological well-being, empirical descriptive evidence on the psychological well-being profile of early adult K-pop fans across demographic characteristics remains limited. Aims: This study aimed to describe the psychological well-being of early adult K-pop fans and to compare psychological well-being across gender, marital status, and employment status. Results: Using a descriptive quantitative design, data were collected from 230 early adult K-pop fans using a reliable Psychological Well-Being Scale (α = 0.865). Most participants (67%) were in the moderate category, 17% were in the high category, and 16% were in the low category. Positive relations with others and personal growth were prominent in the high category, whereas self-acceptance and autonomy were dominant in the moderate category. ANOVA indicated significant differences based on marital status and employment status, but no significant differences based on gender. Novelty: This study provides a demographic-based profile of psychological well-being among early adult K-pop fans in Indonesia. Implications: The findings support the development of community counseling and mental health interventions tailored to K-pop fandom populations. Highlights: Most early adult K-pop fans demonstrated moderate levels of psychological well-being. Marital status and employment status were associated with significant differences in well-being scores. Positive relations and personal growth characterized participants in the high well-being category. Abstract

General Background The digital era intensifies external validation dependency in professional environments. Specific Background This reliance on social recognition creates psychological exhaustion and unstable work motivation among employees. Knowledge Gap Current motivation theories often overlook spiritual dimensions, leaving a void in understanding and mitigating validation dependency within Islamic professional contexts. Aims This study analyzes the psychological roots of external validation dependency through the nafs concept and proposes sincerity as a transformative motivation model. Results The findings reveal that nafs ammarah dominance drives employees to rely on external judgments, leading to severe burnout. Conversely, sincerity provides a stable motivational foundation centered on transcendental meaning rather than fleeting social appraisal. Novelty This research formulates a unique behavioral transformation framework based on tazkiyatun nafs, integrating the stages of takhalli, tahalli, and tajalli. Implications Integrating these spiritual practices broadens Islamic work psychology discourse and offers practical applications for counseling and human resource development programs. Highlights Employees depending on external validation face severe psychological exhaustion and unstable professional drive. Cultivating ikhlas creates stable intrinsic motivation centered on transcendental meaning rather than social appraisal. Integrating tazkiyatun nafs stages provides a practical framework for mitigating digital era validation dependency. Abstract

The Purpose of This study is to examine the validity and reliability of a work-life balance’s instrument among bank employees using the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) approach with SMART PLS. Work-life balance is important aspect in industrial and organizational psychology insasuch as it is associated with psychological well-being, work productivity, and quality of life for the employee. The high work demands in the banking sector make it necessary to measure work-life balance using a good quality of instruments. This research employed a quantitative approach involving 330 bank employees as research participants. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted through outer model testing to evaluate construct validity and reliability. Convergent validity was assessed using loading factor values and Average Variance Extracted (AVE), while reliability was evaluated through Cronbach’s alpha and Composite Reliability values. The findings indicated that 16 out of 17 items were considered valid and reliable. Furthermore, all dimensions of the work-life balance construct adequately reflected the measured construct. These results indicate that the work-life balance instrument has satisfactory psychometric properties and is appropriate for use among bank employees. Highlights • Sixteen of seventeen items met the required psychometric criteria.• One PLIW item was removed due to low loading factor.• Composite Reliability and Cronbach’s Alpha confirmed strong internal consistency. Abstract

General Background: Burnout has become a major workplace challenge because it affects employee psychological well-being, productivity, innovation, and organizational sustainability. Specific Background: This study positions psychological well-being as a central pillar of sustainable human resource development by linking burnout, psychological capital, Job Demands–Resources theory, and Sustainable Human Resource Management. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies have often examined burnout, psychological well-being, psychological capital, and Sustainable Human Resource Management separately, leaving limited conceptual integration between individual psychological resources and organizational sustainability practices. Aims: This article aimed to develop the From Burnout to Balance conceptual model through a Systematic Literature Review using the PRISMA approach. Results: Ten relevant national and international articles published between 2015 and 2025 were synthesized from Scopus, Web of Science, and Garuda. The synthesis shows that burnout can be reduced through two main pathways: strengthening psychological capital and applying Sustainable Human Resource Management. Psychological capital, consisting of hope, efficacy, resilience, and optimism, functions as a protective psychological resource that helps employees cope with work pressure. Sustainable Human Resource Management creates a supportive work ecosystem by prioritizing well-being, work-life balance, and sustainable organizational practices. Psychological well-being is not only an outcome of healthy work conditions but also an indicator of long-term workforce balance. Novelty: The study proposes an integrated multilevel model connecting individual, psychological, and organizational dimensions in one conceptual framework. Implications: Organizations should place employee psychological well-being at the center of sustainable human resource strategies aligned with SDGs 3 and 8. Highlights • Hope, efficacy, resilience, and optimism work as protective resources against work pressure.• Supportive HR practices create healthier, more adaptive organizational ecosystems.• The proposed framework requires further empirical testing across broader work sectors.
