Abstract

The development of digital technology has transformed information consumption patterns, including within the realm of spiritual belief. Generation Z, as the generation born and raised in a digital world the digital ecosystem, exhibits new tendencies in understanding and internalizing noble values through various digital platforms. This study aims to analyze the consumption patterns of virtual content among Generation Z from the perspective of adherents of indigenous beliefs in the One Supreme God (Penghayat Kepercayaan terhadap Tuhan Yang Maha Esa), and to examine its implications for modern forms of spirituality. The method used in this study is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach, focusing on theoretical studies concerning digital religiosity, media literacy, and spiritual individualization. The results of the study show that digital media, especially platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and Podcasts, have become an alternative space for Generation Z to explore and express spiritual values independently, interactively, and contextually. This phenomenon also presents challenges in the form of the spread of unverified information and the potential to distort facts regarding the authenticity of the teachings of the belief. Therefore, spiritual digital literacy is needed to guide Generation Z to remain critical, rational, and selective in consuming religious content in the digital space.

Abstract

The rise of the digital age has brought significant changes to leadership dynamics and leadership development patterns within the context of Christian ministry. This paper addresses the critical issue of leadership succession failure, which is driven by a generational gap between senior leaders and young leaders-in-training, as well as the underutilization of technology in the mentoring process. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, state-of-the-art analysis, and theological synthesis, this study assesses the relevance and effectiveness of the multiplicative leadership model as a solution to the leadership succession problem. The analysis reveals that multiplicative leadership—which emphasizes discipleship, intensive mentoring, delegation of responsibility, and intergenerational collaboration—can bridge the generational gap while accelerating the multiplication of leaders in the digital age. The integration of digital technologies, such as virtual mentoring, digital training modules, and collaborative media, has proven capable of expanding the impact of the leadership development process and enhancing relational closeness between generations. This paper concludes that the multiplicative leadership model is a strategic and theological approach aligned with the biblical mandate to produce leaders capable of developing other leaders, and is relevant for addressing the challenges of contemporary Christian leadership.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze intersubjectivity, love, and hope in the anime The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity through the perspective of the existentialist philosophy of Gabriel Marcel. The research employs a qualitative method using a literature review and content analysis approach. Data were collected from relevant philosophical texts on Marcel’s thought and from the analysis of scenes, dialogues, and character development in the anime. The findings reveal that the relationship between Kouruko Waguri and Rintaro Tsumugi reflects the concept of intersubjectivity as an authentic encounter between “I” and “Thou,” where both individuals recognize each other as subjects. The concepts of being and presence are manifested through genuine presence and relational openness, while having functions as a supporting element that does not lead to possessiveness. Furthermore, fidelity, love, and hope emerge as central dimensions in the fulfillment of the characters’ existence, as these aspects enable their relationship to develop in a meaningful and profound way. This study demonstrates that popular cultural works such as anime can serve as relevant media for philosophical reflection in understanding human existence as inherently relational.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Catholic marriage in the perspective of Martin Buber's dialogical philosophy, particularly the concept of “I-Thou,” as an integrative and applicable approach to building family life. Catholic marriage is understood as a sacrament that is monogamous and indissoluble, based on the Holy Scriptures, Church teachings, and the Code of Canon Law. However, various contemporary challenges such as communication crises, technological developments, and internal family conflicts demand a renewal of the way of understanding husband-wife relationships in a more dialogical and personal manner. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature approach, descriptive-analytical in nature, through content analysis and hermeneutics of relevant primary and secondary sources. The results of the study show that the integration of the “I-You” concept in Catholic marriage affirms the husband-wife relationship as an encounter between subjects who are equal, dialogical, and reciprocal. This model places marriage as a responsibility for unity, a practice of dialogue for the bonum coniugum, and a communion that reaches its peak in a relationship with God, so that sacramental teachings are concretely realized in the dynamics of family life.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Strategic Learning Enabler model by reconfiguring the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) units to enhance Generation Z student productivity in digital higher education. The research is motivated by the gap between digital transformation demands and the predominantly technical-operational role of ICT units. Using a quantitative explanatory design, this study examines the causal relationships among ICT role reconfiguration, adaptive learning systems, and student productivity. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to Generation Z students engaged in digital learning environments and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The findings indicate that Generation Z students exhibit high responsiveness to structured tasks but lack continuity in learning activities due to weak self-regulated learning. The study also reveals that adaptive learning systems significantly mediate the relationship between ICT transformation and student productivity. The proposed model emphasizes digital governance, learning analytics, and micro-tasking structures as key components in building sustainable academic productivity. This research contributes both theoretically and practically by offering an institutional framework for digital learning transformation in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Qirâat (variant Qur’anic readings) on the interpretation of legal verses in Adhwâ’ al-Bayân by Muhammad al-Amîn al-Syinqîthi. Employing a qualitative library research approach, this study examines how both mutawâtir and syâdz Qirâat contribute to the process of Islamic legal deduction (istinbâth). The findings reveal that Qirâat function not merely as linguistic variations but also have significant implications for expanding, reinforcing, and providing flexibility in legal meanings across various domains, including worship (ibadah), family law (munâkahât), transactions (mu‘âmalah), and jihad. Al-Syinqîthi integrates linguistic analysis, textual evidence, and the objectives of Islamic law (maqâṣid al-syarî‘ah) in a comprehensive manner, enabling him to accommodate different Qirâat without generating legal contradictions. Mutawâtir Qirâat serve as the primary foundation for legal rulings, while syâdz Qirâat function as complementary and supportive arguments. This study concludes that the diversity of Qirâat constitutes an integral component of Qur’anic exegesis and Islamic jurisprudence, contributing to the development of a flexible, contextual, and relevant Islamic legal framework.

Abstract

This article examines Romans 14:7-9 as a foundational biblical text for the concept of life ownership in New Testament ethics. Using a historical-exegetical and theological-systematic approach, it demonstrates that the passage clearly declares that neither life nor death belongs to the individual believer. Both are to be lived and died “to the Lord,” affirming that Christians are ultimately the possession of Christ as Kyrios. This theocentric view directly challenges the modern secular principle of radical patient autonomy that underpins euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide. The study provides a detailed exegesis of Romans 14:7-9 in its literary and historical context, explores parallel New Testament texts on life ownership, and discusses its ethical implications for contemporary medical practice. It argues that Romans 14:7-9 offers strong biblical grounds for rejecting active euthanasia while supporting compassionate palliative care that honors human dignity until natural death. In the Indonesian context, where euthanasia is legally prohibited, this perspective provides a robust theological foundation for Christian bioethics and public policy. A truly good death, according to the New Testament, is one that occurs in submission to the sovereignty of the risen Lord.

Abstract

This article examines the relationship between Artificial Intelligence (AI), the concept of sensus communis proposed by Nicholas of Cusa (1401–1464), and the formation of religious communities. Through a theoretical-philosophical analysis, the author argues that sensus communis as the integrative capacity of the human intellect that unifies sensory, rational, and intuitive dimensions offers a normative epistemological framework for critically addressing the reductionism inherent in algorithmic AI. The main finding indicates that AI constitutes only a partial simulacrum of the integrative capacity of human reason and, therefore, cannot replace the ontological-transcendental dimension of authentic formation. Accordingly, this article proposes a model of critical-integrative formation grounded in three pillars: the selective use of AI, the preservation of AI-free spaces, and hermeneutical integration. The relevance of Cusa’s thought for contemporary religious formation is articulated in three contributions: docta ignorantia as a formative habitus, coincidentia oppositorum as a paradigm of dialogue, and ontological participation as the foundation of knowledge.

Abstract

The contemporary ecological crisis demonstrates an imbalance in the relationship between humans and nature that is not only ecological, but also theological and moral. This article aims to analyze the ecological crisis from the perspective of Augustine of Hippo through the concepts of free will (liberum arbitrium) and the order of love (ordo amoris), as well as their relevance to the relationship between humans and nature. This study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. The primary data sources are secondary literature, namely books and academic studies discussing Augustine’s philosophical and theological thought, supported by journal articles, Church documents, and contemporary ecotheological studies. The data were analyzed using descriptive-analytical and hermeneutic methods. The results of the study indicate that the ecological crisis originates from the disorientation of human will influenced by excessive self-love, which gives rise to an anthropocentric and exploitative attitude toward nature. From Augustine’s perspective, the restoration of the relationship between humans and nature requires an order of love directed toward God as the highest good. Therefore, the ecological crisis is understood as a spiritual crisis that demands an inner transformation of humanity in establishing an ethical relationship with all creation.
