Abstract

PT Semen Indonesia (PERSERO) Tbk is a cement producing company in Tuban, so problems often occur in theproduction system including damage to the finish mill machine components. The machine components that are oftendamaged are Grinding tables, Tires, Reducer separators, Rockerarms, Bucket Chains, Seals, Shafts. The finish millmachine is the last area in the cement production process. The result of the final grinding in the form of cement isstored in cement storage silos. If maintenance is carried out on a scheduled basis, damage and production failurescan be minimized. The purpose of this industrial practical work is to schedule maintenance for finish mill machinesusing the FMEA method. The data collection method used was direct observation and interviews with theresponsible department in the finish mill machine area. From the results of industrial practical work carried out, itis known that machine maintenance is carried out with an overhaul system every few years. It is recommended toschedule maintenance for finish mill machines such as cleaning, replacement, lubrication so that components do notoften fail and damage during the production process.

Abstract

The location of the research carried out in writing the journal here is PDAM Surya Sembada, Surabaya City. PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya City is one of the companies owned by the Regional Government (PEMDA) whose role is in processing and providing clean water to serve the people of Surabaya city, taking raw water taken from the Jagir River to then be processed and then distributed to customers. At this time the machines that are used operationally at PDAM are fairly old and therefore machines often experience damage problems. One of the methods used to anticipate problems in this case is the FMEA method. This method is used to anticipate an small problems before big problems. The steps used in this method include processing damage data in 2021, identifying the type of damage, results of the identification process and finally conclusions and suggestions. The data collection process is obtained from the results of observations and interviews or discussions with related parties between managers, supervisors and maintenance staff.

Abstract

Inventory management at PT Supraco Indonesia ensures accurate and timely material inventory, proper delivery, and quality control according to predefined standards. The supplier selection process is analyzed using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method, a decision support model that breaks down complex multi-criteria problems into a hierarchical structure. AHP considers validity and consistency tolerance limits in choosing criteria and alternatives. The key criterion influencing supplier selection is Quality, with a weight of 0.73. Among alternatives, Aqua Terra scored highest for Quality, Manunggal for Cost, and Sentra Medika for Delivery. Based on the overall analysis, Aqua Terra emerged as the best supplier, while Sentra Medika had the lowest performance.

Abstract

Water is essential for development and growth, benefiting both humans and other living organisms. Clean water scarcity is a common issue, leading to a crisis as demand grows. Polluted water consumption can cause health problems like diarrhea, cholera, polio, and poisoning. Diarrhea, often linked to water pollution, can lead to dehydration and death, especially in children, while poisoning can cause anemia, hypertension, and nervous system issues. To address this, effective water treatment is necessary, and filtration is an affordable, accessible option. While activated carbon is commonly used, it is expensive. This study shows that sand and clay are effective for treating contaminated water, achieving 95% pH normalization and meeting the required standards.

Abstract

PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk is an animal feed company that uses corn as its primary raw material. The company enforces strict management to ensure high-quality feed production. Procurement focuses on corn quality before purchase, followed by comprehensive quality control. This study uses the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method to analyze inventory management at PT. Japfa Comfeed Indonesia, Tbk. The research examines current practices, models a raw material management system, and suggests improvements in planning and control. The aim is to optimize production processes and reduce inventory costs using EOQ. The results show that applying EOQ leads to a larger order quantity (6,957,354 kg) compared to the current order quantity (1,705,051 kg), with fewer annual orders (3 versus 12). Additionally, using EOQ reduces ordering costs from Rp. 318,000,000 to Rp. 79,500,000, demonstrating improved inventory efficiency and enhanced production planning.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of the Current Ratio (CR), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Firm Size on Return on Equity (ROE) at PT. Adhi Karya from 2015 to 2021. The data were obtained from the company's publicly available financial reports during this period. This research employs a quantitative descriptive approach. The findings reveal that the Current Ratio (CR) does not have a partial effect on ROE, while the Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) and Firm Size significantly influence ROE. Additionally, CR, DER, and Firm Size collectively affect ROE. The Coefficient of Determination (R2) indicates that these variables account for 64% of the variation in ROE, with the remaining 36% influenced by other factors not explored in this study.

Abstract

This study evaluates the environmental impact of the tofu production process using Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) with Simapro software. The goal is to identify environmental consequences, analyze their causes, and propose management strategies to mitigate impacts. LCA helps determine which stages of a product's life cycle contribute most significantly to environmental degradation, and to assess these impacts throughout the process. The Eco-Indicator 99(H) method identifies three main environmental effects: inorganic respiration, climate change, and carcinogenic emissions. Key contributing factors include the use of coagulants, firewood, and electricity. Recommendations for reducing these impacts include improving device efficiency, replacing acetic acid with nigarin as a coagulant, and utilizing residual soy milk from the settling process. These changes aim to make the tofu production process more sustainable while minimizing its environmental footprint.

Abstract

This research examines the role of IT management in improving information security and library risk management. It underscores the importance of references in validating information, particularly within education, where libraries are key in providing resources. With the growth of online libraries, technological advancements bring new risks, including threats to data confidentiality, integrity, and availability, requiring updated risk management strategies. The study highlights the need for information systems integrated with reliable technology to address these risks and enhance library operations. It also explores various risk types and methods for assessing and managing them, focusing on how IT can bolster security and reduce risks associated with outdated systems. The research concludes that effective risk management, including continuous assessment and technology updates, is critical to protecting library assets.

Abstract

Development Unit I Rungkut, Surabaya, faces significant sanitation issues due to domestic waste being directly discharged into drainage channels. To address this, a Wastewater Distribution System and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) were designed. The system utilizes a shallow sewer type, ideal for densely populated areas with gentle slopes. The WWTP incorporates various technologies, including Bar Screen, Equalization Tank, Flotation Tank, Oil Settlement Tank, Mixing Tank (Coagulation-Sedimentation), Food Chain Reactor, Final Clarifier, and Sludge Drying Beds. The area is divided into 5 service blocks, serving a population of 24,405. The study indicates that the Food Chain Reactor will be the main processing unit. The distribution system uses HDPE pipes with diameters ranging from 355 to 500 mm. The total investment is estimated at Rp. 87,832,528,386, with monthly operation and maintenance costs of Rp. 4,000 per House Connection (SR).

Abstract

This research was conducted at the KAREB Cooperative, a company that provides tobacco redrying services. The cooperative processes tobacco from various consumers in the thresher unit, where production can last up to 15 hours. Such extended operations increase the risk of machine malfunctions. To address this, the company implements quality control measures based on predefined standards to minimize defective products and ensure that outputs meet quality requirements. These measures also aim to prevent defective items from reaching consumers. One of the quality control approaches applied is the Six Sigma method, which focuses on defect reduction through a structured process of defining, measuring, analyzing, improving, and controlling production quality. The methodology involves detailed data breakdown, including data presentation, analysis, and interpretation. Data were collected through interviews and discussions with the quality control team at the KAREB Cooperative, providing insights into the practical application of Six Sigma in tobacco redrying operations.
