Abstract

This study examines the determinants of farmers' decisions to sell rubber production in the auction and non-auction markets in Lubuk Raja District, OKU Regency. The purpose of this study is (1) to measure the level of satisfaction of farmers who sell their rubber production to the auction and non-auction markets. (2) analyze the factors that determine the decision of farmers to sell rubber production to the auction market. The research method in this study is a survey method. The sampling method used was the disproportionate stratified random sampling method. The number of sample farmers taken in this study is classified as layer I, namely farmers who sell to the auction market with a total of 30 people. While the second layer is farmers who sell to non-auction markets with a sample of 30 people. Data analysis uses score calculations and logistics using SPSS. The results of this study are the level of satisfaction of farmers who participate in the auction market is in the high category or very satisfied, while the level of satisfaction of farmers who sell production to non-auction is in the medium or satisfied category. This happened because the auction market received more information about the rubber trading system and service and the selling price received was better than in the non-auction market. The economic factor that most determines the decision of farmers to sell their products to the auction market and to the non-auction market is income and the social factor is education.Keywords: Determinant, decision, rubber,satisfaction

Abstract

Healthy agriculture is to provide products especially food that is save, healthy for the consumer and does not damage the environment. The world’s agricultural product market healthy increase of 20% per year, therefore the development of healthy agricultural cultivation need to be prioritized on high-value crops to meet the needs of the domestic market and export. Rice is the most everyday food for most people of Indonesia, and rice is the staple food that can not be replaced by other carbohydrate soerces. Rice (rice) is 60% to 70% of the food we eat every day for most Indonesian people. So it is clear that as a staple food daily is most influential to our health. The objectives of this study were : 1) To determine what factor influence the buyers decision to comsume healthy rice. 2) To determine how much influence the healthy rice products to the purchasing decision in district Belitang healthy rice. The result show that there are factors that influence purchasing decisions helthy rice are : price, quality, nutrient content. But three variables are described together do not have a significant influence, while parsial three variables, namely the price, quality and nutrient content have a significant influence on purchasing decision in District Belitang healthy rice.keywords : Healthy rice, purchasing decision, domestic market and export.

Abstract

The research was conducted in 2018, in the dry land agro-ecosystem area, namely in Karangharjo Village, Sulang District, Rembang Regency. The aim of the study was to determine the reproductive picture (Service per conception S/C, post partus unestrus (APP), calving interval) of beef cattle in a traditional farming system at the level of smallholder farming. The research method uses descriptive methods and data obtained through surveys with interviews with 30 respondents and using a structured list of questions as a tool to collect the necessary data. The data obtained were then described and interpreted. The results showed that the breeds of cattle kept by breeders were the Ongole (PO) breeds and the breeds of Simmental and PO (Simpo) crosses. The average ownership of PO cattle is between 2-3 heads and the Simpo cattle breed is on average 1-2 heads. The forage provided from November to March was mostly grass and some superior grass, but the forage provided from April to October consisted of grass, sugarcane shoots and rice straw. Not all breeders provide additional feed in the form of rice bran to their livestock. There are differences in post partum unestrus (APP), service per conception and calving interval between cattle fed with supplementary feed and without additional feed, both PO and Simpo cattle. However, there was no difference between PO cattle and the age at first mating, as well as between Simpo cattle, but the first mating age for PO cattle was faster than Simpo cattle.Keywords: Beef cattle, feed and reproduction

Abstract

Red fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lamk) is a species of the Pandanaceae tribe that has many uses, including as a source of raw materials for degenerative drugs such as heart, liver, cholesterol, diabetes, gout, osteoporosis, and anti-HIV infections. red can be used as animal feed. The genetic potential of red fruit in its natural habitat is not known with certainty. Besides red fruit, other wild pandanus species were also found, namely the pandan tree with small short fruit (20-30 cm) with a fruit circumference of 20 cm and 3 buds. The pandanus is not used as food because of its bitter taste. At an altitude of 1,000 m asl too found other types of pandanus similar to pandanus mats around the forest. The number of ethnic groups living in the Papua region also influences the naming of each red fruit plant accession. Meanwhile, it is known that there are 6 accessions that farmers in Papua are interested in/cultivated, namely Melar, Barugum, Ibagaya, Kuanggo, Kanen, and Muni. The processing method that is currently developing is generally still traditional. There is a need for wider development of red fruit, both plant propagation (eg by tissue culture) and processing methods.Keywords: red fruit, pandanus, traditional medicine

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the main food crop commodities in South Sumatra Province and analyze the growth of food crop commodities in South Sumatra Province during 2011-2015. The location determination was carried out purposively because it was based on the consideration that South Sumatra Province is one of the provinces in terms of agriculture, especially the food crops subsector, which has considerable potential for natural resources and human resources in improving the regional economy. The method used in this research is a literature study method where the author uses secondary data (Time Series) or a time series from 2011 to 2015. The results showed using the Location Qoutient (LQ) analysis tool that the pre-eminent food crop sub-sector in South Sumatra Province from 2011 to 2015 was rice food crops, while non-superior food crops consisted of corn, cassava, sweet potatoes, peanuts, green beans and soybeans. Meanwhile, growth (Shift share) shows that the growth of food crop commodities in South Sumatra Province from 2011 to 2015 crops of rice, corn, cassava, and soybeans had good growth by showing positive numbers, while the commodity of sweet potatoes, peanuts, Soil, and green beans have poor growth in South Sumatra Province where the shift share results show a negative value.Keywords: Leading Commodity, Growth, LQ Analysis and Shift Share

Abstract

This study aims to determine the factors that affect the income of corn farming in Simpang Agung village, Simpang district, South OKU district. The method used in this research is a survey method. The sampling method used in this study is a simple random sampling method (sample random sampling). Data analysis used income formula, SPSS multiple linear regression and risk analysis formula. The results of this study are: The average income received by corn farming in Simpang Agung Village, Simpang District, OKU Selatan Regency is Rp. 32,422,600 ha/year where the average income is Rp. 46,398,666 ha/year and the average total cost of production is Rp. 13,876.733 ha/yr. The results of this study show partially (t-test) for the education variable (X1) with a t-count value less than t-table, experience (X2) with a t-count value less than t-table, variable amount of production (X3) with a t-count value more from t table, variable number of workers (X4) with t count value less than t table, variable land area (X5) with t count less than t table. So it can be concluded that education, experience, total production, number of workers, and land area have a significant effect on the factors that affect maize farming income in Simpang Agung Village, Simpang District, South OKU Regency. Corn farming in Simpang Agung Village, Simpang District, South OKU Regency produced a coefficient of variation of CV 1.82 more than 0.5 and an L value of more than 0 32,522,483 and the conclusion was that the farming was protected from losses.Keywords: Factor, income, corn, risk

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the cost risk, production,selling price, coffe farm income with vegetative and generative system. This research is carried out in the Village of Galang TinggiSub-district ofMekakau IlirRegency Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan. Selected this area as a Research location based on data obtained from the Agriculter and Plantation Districts Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan, that coffe farming robusta land area and production is greater than other villages. The implementation of the study was conducted for 3 Month from November – January. Starting from the preparation of proposals, data retrieval, data processing and preparation of final reports. The method used is survey method. From the calculation it can be seen the risk of robusta coffe farming system is smaller than the generative system. The small coefficient value indicates that the average value variability in the farm is low. This ilistrates the risk that will be faced in the small vegetative system while the generative system is larger. Keywords :cost risk, production, selling price, revenue

Abstract

Freshwater fish farming in South Sumatra, especially East OKU Regency, is quite attractive, this is evidenced by the large enough profits that farmers get so that they can meet their daily needs, while the time it takes is not too long. The purpose of this study was to provide an overview of the food security of catfish farmers in Liman Sari Village, Buay Madang Timur District, Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency. This research was conducted in Liman Sari Village, Buay Madang Timur District, Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency. This research was conducted in June 2017. The method used in this study is a survey method. The data obtained in this study were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the share value of household food expenditure of catfish farmers in Liman Sari Village with pond sizes of 10M X 15M and 5M X 10M was 39.94% and 42.95% or less than 60%, it can be concluded that the level of home food security The ladder of catfish farmers in Liman Sari Village, Buay Madang Timur District, Ogan Komering Ulu Timur Regency is at the level of food security.Keywords : Resilience, Food, Farmers, Water Catfish

Abstract

Pure coconut oil or Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is a modification of the process of making coconut oil so that it produces products with low water content and free fatty acid levels, clear in color, smells good, and has a long shelf life of 12 months. The manufacture of virgin coconut oil has many advantages, namely it does not require expensive costs because the raw materials are easy to obtain at low prices, the processing is simple and not too complicated, while the use of energy is minimal because it does not use raw materials so that the chemical and nutritional content is maintained, especially acid. fat in oil. When compared with cooking oil (copra coconut oil), virgin coconut oil has better quality, copra coconut oil will be brownish yellow in color, odorless and easily rancid so that its shelf life does not last long (less than two months). From an economic point of view, virgin coconut oil (VCO) has a higher selling price than copra coconut oil, so studies on making VCO need to be developed.The process of making VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) can be done using the usual method and the simple fermentation method.The advantage of making VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) in Tugu Harum Village, Belitang Madang Raya, East OKU with the usual method is 0.019/month while the fermentation method is 0.020/month which means that it is financially feasible more than the current interest rate of 0.005 /Month.The added value obtained from the business of making VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) with the usual method is Rp. 69,570/Kg While the fermentation method is Rp. 69,596.Keywords: coconut oil, value added, VOC
