Abstract

Basal Stem Rot (BSR), caused by Ganoderma boninense, is the most destructive disease affecting oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) plantations in Southeast Asia, leading to severe yield losses and threatening the sustainability of the industry. Despite extensive studies on the pathogenicity of Ganoderma, its ecological impact on functional fungal communities in oil palm soils remains poorly understood. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Ganoderma infection on the abundance of total fungi, cellulolytic fungi, and ligninolytic fungi in oil palm plantation soils in Pare-Pare Tengah Village, North Labuhanbatu, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Soil samples were collected from healthy and infected oil palm stands and analyzed using the Total Plate Count (TPC) method to quantify fungal populations. Statistical analysis using paired t-tests and effect size (Cohen’s d) revealed significant differences between healthy and infected soils. Total fungal abundance decreased from 2.91 × 10⁹ CFU g⁻¹ in healthy soils to 2.16 × 10⁹ CFU g⁻¹ in infected soils (Cohen’s d = 19.15). Similarly, cellulolytic fungi declined from 4.74 × 10⁴ CFU g⁻¹ to 2.51 × 10⁴ CFU g⁻¹ (Cohen’s d = 16.28). Unexpectedly, ligninolytic fungi also showed a marked reduction from 2.22 × 10³ CFU g⁻¹ in healthy soils to 2.01 × 10² CFU g⁻¹ in infected soils (Cohen’s d = 59.14). These findings indicate a substantial shift in soil fungal community structure associated with Ganoderma infection, suggesting complex ecological interactions and potential suppression of other lignocellulose degrading fungi. Understanding these microbial dynamics provides important insights for developing more sustainable and ecologically based management strategies for BSR disease in oil palm plantations.

Abstract

At the beginning of its development, Medan City was a small village called "Medan Putri". After that, workers from the port who had run out of contracts began to come to the village, precisely in the Kesawan area, to trade. Warenhuis is a heritage building from the Dutch Colonial Period which was once victorious and is a silent witness to the journey of the Dutch people while ruling this region, namely the city of Medan. One type of research used in this paper is literature research, which is included in the category of library research. In continuation of this research, the approach method in this research uses a historical method with a descriptive approach which is used to create a picture of an event or event. Writing history not only records events in chronological order, but also requires in-depth analysis supported by relevant theories. Warenhuis is one of the buildings that has been neglected in recent years. If you look at its shape, it will be in accordance with the functional space requirements of the performing arts building and gallery for historical objects. When the building was first built, this building functioned as a Dutch chamber of commerce, then it changed its function as an opera house and after Indonesia became independent this building became an office building. In the present, Warenhuis has been taken over and managed by the government. During its revitalization period, it will be transformed into the Medan City Education Center and Painting Art Gallery.

Abstract

Kelabau fish is a local freshwater fish with high economic value, however, successful seed production is still constrained by high mortality and slow growth during the larval stage. This study aimed to analyze the growth and survival of kelabau fish larvae fed natural feeds with different feed-transition periods. The study was conducted at the Mandiangin Freshwater Aquaculture Center using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The tested treatments consisted of different transition times among natural feeds, namely infusoria, Artemia nauplii, and Moina, for larvae aged two days after hatching during a 15-day rearing period. The observed parameters included absolute length growth, absolute weight growth, and larval survival. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a 95% confidence level, followed by Duncan’s test when significant differences were found. The results showed that different natural-feed transition periods had a significant effect (P < 0.05) on larval length growth, but had no significant effect (P > 0.05) on weight growth or survival. The highest length growth was obtained in treatment A at 8.55 ± 0.34 mm, followed by treatment B at 8.42 ± 0.28 mm, while the lowest value was recorded in treatment D at 7.08 ± 0.13 mm. Weight growth ranged from 0.0161 ± 0.0016 to 0.0179 ± 0.0033 g, and survival ranged from 83.33 ± 3.85% to 95.56 ± 5.09%. Treatment A, consisting of infusoria feeding until day 2 and a combination of infusoria and Artemia nauplii starting on day 3, was the best treatment for improving larval length growth. Therefore, an earlier transition to Artemia nauplii, beginning on day 3 of rearing, is the optimal period to support the growth of kelabau fish larvae without reducing their survival rate.

Abstract

This study discusses the historical analysis of Dutch educational policies towards indigenous people in the Dutch East Indies. The objectives of this study are to determine the form of Dutch colonial educational policies, understand the objectives of implementing an education system for indigenous people, and analyze the impact of these policies on social development and nationalism in Indonesia. The research method used is a historical research method with a qualitative approach through literature study. Data were obtained from various sources such as books, journals, historical documents, and research results relevant to the topic of study. The results show that Dutch colonial education was initially discriminatory and only intended for certain groups, such as European children, nobles, and families of indigenous officials. Education was used as a political tool to support administrative interests and maintain colonial power in the Dutch East Indies. Policy changes began to be seen with the implementation of the Ethical Policy in the early 20th century through educational programs that opened wider educational opportunities for indigenous people. However, the main objective of colonial education remained directed at creating an educated workforce at a low cost and loyal to the Dutch government. On the other hand, the development of colonial education had a significant impact on the emergence of an educated indigenous class with a national consciousness. Western-educated intellectuals began to understand the concepts of freedom, democracy, and nationalism, which then led to the emergence of national movement organizations in Indonesia. Figures such as Ki Hajar Dewantara, Mohammad Hatta, and Soetomo utilized education as a means of fighting against colonialism. Thus, Dutch education policy had a dual impact: it served as both a tool of colonial power and a factor in the growth of Indonesian nationalism.

Abstract

In recent years, Islamic banks in Indonesia have experienced rapid Growth, especially in the province of Aceh. Even though the Growth of Islamic banks is quite rapid, as seen in data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK), their market share in Indonesia is still far below that of conventional banks. The Third-Parties Fund at Bank Aceh Syariah is interesting to study as a measure of how the Bank can attract customers to save with it through Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). The population of this study is the Bank Aceh Syariah. The data collection technique used the documentation method on the official banking website of Bank Aceh Syariah. The methodology of this research is quantitative. The data used are secondary, obtained from Bank Aceh Syariah's annual reports from 2011 to 2020. In this study, the data analysis included descriptive analysis, validity tests, pilot tests, reliability tests, and classic assumption tests. And for hypothesis testing, multiple regression, adjusted R2, F-statistic, partial test (T-test), and automatic linear modeling are used. The data is processed using SPPS for Windows.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of financial statement quality and the jamaah trust on the conceptual model of PSAK 45 in Yogyakarta. PSAK 45 is a Statement of Financial Accounting Standards that focuses on the Financial Reporting of Nonprofit Entities and was ratified by the Financial Accounting Standards Board on April 8, 2011. Mosques are nonprofit organizations used for worship and for all activities related to the people. For this reason, mosques require an accounting process that produces an effective financial reporting system and provides all the information supporting worship facilities and religious activities, including maintenance and repair activities. Financial statements play an important role in presenting information generated by the Mosque's activities and operations. The quality of financial reports is an important factor for mosque organizations, as they can demonstrate that the takmir are properly accountable for the authority granted to them as a mandate to manage funds or assets originating from the congregation or the community. The results show that the quality of the financial statements and the Jamaah trust are affected by the conceptual model of PSAK 45.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically test the effectiveness of the whistleblowing model in encouraging individuals to report wrongdoing. Based on path-goal theory, leaders will help and support their employees in achieving their goals and ensure that these goals align with organizational goals. Therefore, an individual's intention to report fraud will be greater if there is a clear structure for achieving goals and reducing obstacles. The individual's need for security, as expressed in Maslow's hierarchy theory, requires an anonymous reporting channel. This study was tested using an experimental method involving 58 participants from two universities. The results showed that under structural model conditions, both anonymous and non-anonymous channels were equally effective in encouraging individuals to whistleblow. Between the two channels, there was no difference in the intention to report fraud. In addition, this study also tested the influence of the materiality level of fraud, material and immaterial, the results showed that the materiality level also had no difference in reporting both anonymously and non-anonymously.

Abstract

Snakehead fish (Channa striata) is a high-value freshwater fishery commodity produced by artisanal fishers in Kalinapu Village, Paju Epat District, East Barito Regency. The marketing system in this inland village faces geographic constraints, limited transportation infrastructure, and the absence of cold chain facilities, which contribute to high distribution costs and a weak bargaining position for fishers. This study aimed to: (1) analyze the marketing channel structure; (2) calculate marketing costs, marketing margins, and farmer's share for each channel; and (3) determine the most efficient marketing channel for snakehead fish in Kalinapu Village. The study was conducted from March to June 2026 using a descriptive quantitative approach. The sample comprised 25 respondents selected by census and snowball sampling methods, consisting of 10 active fishers, 2 collectors, 1 wholesaler, 2 retailers, and 10 end consumers. Data were analyzed using marketing cost analysis, marketing margin analysis, farmer's share, and marketing efficiency ratio (Ep) based on Soekartawi (2002) and Kohls and Uhl (2002). The results showed that three marketing channels exist in Kalinapu Village. Marketing efficiency values were: Channel I (32.71%), Channel II (25.04%), and Channel III (28.78%), all classified as efficient (Ep ≤50%). Channel II, comprising fisher–collector Khusasi–retailer–consumer, was the most efficient channel with the lowest marketing costs (Rp15,024/kg) and a stable, routine distribution pattern. Channel III, which involved a wholesaler and bulk purchasing, yielded the highest farmer’s share (60%) despite involving more intermediaries, due to economies of scale in distribution

Abstract

This study examines the epistemology of human creation in the Qur'an through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research aims to analyze the sources of knowledge, methods of understanding, and criteria of truth related to the concept of human creation from an Islamic perspective. Data were collected from various national and international scholarly articles relevant to Islamic epistemology, scientific exegesis, and the concept of human creation in the Qur'an. The findings reveal that the Qur'anic concept of human creation encompasses both biological and spiritual dimensions that are integrally interconnected. Revelation serves as the primary source of knowledge, while reason and empirical inquiry function as instruments for interpretation and contextualization. The stages of human creation, such as nutfah (drop of fluid), ‘alaqah (clinging substance), and mudghah (chewed-like lump), demonstrate conceptual relevance to modern embryology; however, they should not be regarded as absolute scientific equivalence. The study also finds that Islamic epistemology adopts an integrative framework through the bayani, burhani, and irfani approaches. Furthermore, the findings affirm that the relationship between revelation and science is complementary in nature. Consequently, the Qur'an should be understood not only as a source of divine guidance but also as an epistemological foundation for comprehending the nature of human beings in a holistic manner.
