Abstract

This study aims to describe the presentation form and analyze the correlation between the elements that form the Kuda Lumping dance in Manunggal Karya Village, Randangan District, Pohuwato Regency. This research is motivated by the existence of traditional Javanese art that is still preserved and purely maintained by the transmigrant community since 1981, and functions as a cultural identity and unifier of society. The method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis refers to the model of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the presentation form of the Kuda Lumping dance is divided into two main acts, namely the opening act featuring seven structured movements, and the main act which is full of mystical nuances with the phenomenon of spirit possession. The elements that form the performance include movement, floor patterns, makeup and costumes, accompanying music, properties, and the performance venue which are closely correlated to form a unified meaning. The main uniqueness lies in the self-flagellation and the involvement of the audience, who are possessed by spirits. This art form carries philosophical meanings of spiritual strength, character building, and community unification. This art form is a clear demonstration of harmonious cultural acculturation, where Javanese culture remains preserved and fully accepted within the Gorontalo cultural context.

Abstract

The Narmada Intersection at the junction of Jalan Suranadi and Jalan Mataram Sikur experiences traffic congestion due to high vehicle volume, market activity, and side obstacles in the form of on-road parking. This study aims to evaluate the performance of the unsignalized intersection in its existing condition and analyze the effect of implementing a one-way system on the A arm (Jalan Suranadi) on intersection performance. The methods used are the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) and microscopic simulations using PTV VISSIM software. Data were obtained through traffic volume surveys, road geometry measurements, and observations of traffic conditions in the field. The analysis results show that the existing condition has a degree of saturation (DJ) of 0.76 with a delay of 14.99 seconds/vehicle so that the intersection is in a condition close to saturation. The implementation of the one-way outflow scenario (outflow only) resulted in a DJ value of 0.81 with a delay of 15.79 seconds/vehicle, while the one-way inflow scenario (inflow only) resulted in a DJ value of 0.66 with a delay of 13.17 seconds/vehicle. The PTV VISSIM simulation results show that the inflow only scenario provides a better level of service than the outflow only scenario. Overall, the implementation of the one-way inflow system on arm A is considered more effective in improving intersection performance by reducing traffic conflicts and increasing the regularity of vehicle flow.

Abstract

The implementation of good governance is essential for creating an effective, transparent, accountable, and corruption-free government system. As the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP), the Bogor Regency Inspectorate plays a strategic role through supervisory, consultative, guidance, and preventive functions. However, supervisory implementation still faces challenges, including limited human resources, high workloads, differences in audit perceptions, and the suboptimal expansion of supervisory functions. This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by the Bogor Regency Inspectorate in achieving good governance, identify supporting and inhibiting factors, and examine efforts to overcome existing obstacles. This study is based on the good governance framework developed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP, 1997) and SWOT analysis theory proposed by Rangkuti (2016). A qualitative method with a descriptive approach was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using the SWOT framework. The findings show that the Bogor Regency Inspectorate has implemented S-O, W-O, S-T, and W-T strategies through preventive, consultative, guidance, and risk-based supervision approaches. Supporting factors include regulatory support, competent human resources, inter-agency cooperation, SPIP implementation, and bureaucratic reform. Inhibiting factors include the limited number of auditors and PPUPD personnel, high workloads, differences in audit perceptions, and the limited expansion of supervisory functions. Efforts to address these challenges include strengthening APIP capability, improving human resource quality, digitalizing supervisory processes, reinforcing SPIP implementation, applying risk management, and enhancing collaboration with external supervisory institutions. These strategies contribute to strengthening the Inspectorate’s role in supporting the realization of good governance in Bogor Regency.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the influence of job competence and employee engagement on employee performance at Yayasan Medan Mulia/Mian Zhong, Medan, with organizational culture as an intervening variable in the SEM-PLS model. Research Methodology: A quantitative explanatory design was applied using a census technique involving all 127 foundation employees from elementary, junior high, and senior high school units, including teachers, security officers, janitors, administrative staff, and educational personnel. Primary data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS by evaluating the measurement model, discriminant validity, collinearity, model fit, coefficient of determination, effect size, and bootstrapping-based hypothesis testing. Results: The measurement model met validity and reliability criteria, as outer loadings exceeded the recommended threshold, Cronbach’s alpha ranged from 0.901 to 0.936, composite reliability ranged from 0.918 to 0.946, and AVE ranged from 0.693 to 0.770. HTMT, Fornell-Larcker, and inner VIF results also indicated acceptable discriminant validity and no multicollinearity. However, the structural model showed weak explanatory power, with R-squared values of 0.032 for employee performance and 0.007 for organizational culture. All direct and indirect hypotheses were rejected because their p-values exceeded 0.05. Conclusions: Job competence, employee engagement, and organizational culture were not dominant predictors of employee performance in this foundation context. Limitations: The study was limited to one educational foundation and used heterogeneous job categories. Contributions: This study contributes empirical evidence that employee performance in educational foundations may require broader explanatory variables beyond competence, engagement, and organizational culture, particularly leadership, motivation, compensation, work environment, and performance appraisal systems.

Abstract

The increasing reliance on synthetic insecticides for pest management has raised concerns regarding environmental contamination, pest resistance, and adverse effects on non-target organisms. Consequently, the development of environmentally friendly alternatives such as botanical insecticides has gained considerable attention. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Cerbera odollam Gaertn. leaf extract against Thrips parvispinus Karny and to determine the lethal concentration required to kill 50% of the test population (LC₅₀) within 96 h of exposure. The experiment was conducted from August to October 2021 at the Biology Laboratory and Greenhouse, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Halu Oleo University, Indonesia. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was employed consisting of four extract concentrations, namely 1.0%, 1.5%, 2.0%, and 2.5%, along with a positive control (Regent 50 SC) and a negative control (distilled water). The extract was applied by spraying onto cayenne pepper plants infested with T. parvispinus, and observations were carried out for seven consecutive days. Mortality percentage, mortality rate, and LC₅₀ values were evaluated. The results demonstrated that C. odollam leaf extract significantly increased thrips mortality. The highest efficacy was observed at a concentration of 2.5%, resulting in 100% mortality and a mortality rate of 0.55 individuals per 24 h, which was statistically comparable to the positive control treatment. Probit analysis revealed an LC₅₀ value of 2.07% after 96 h of exposure. These findings indicate that C. odollam leaf extract possesses considerable potential as an environmentally sustainable botanical insecticide for controlling T. parvispinus populations in cayenne pepper cultivation.

Abstract

The utilization of Solar Power Plants (plts) as a renewable energy source continues to increase in line with the growing demand for environmentally friendly energy. However, the performance of an SPP is highly influenced by environmental conditions and variations in its electrical parameters. Therefore, a monitoring system capable of providing real-time information and remote access is required. This study aims to design and implement an Internet of Things (IoT)-Based Solar Power Plant Parameter Monitoring System to monitor key parameters such as voltage, current, power, and solar panel temperature. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller as the main processing unit connected to various measurement sensors. The collected data are transmitted through the internet to a monitoring platform, allowing users to observe the condition of the solar power plant in real time using mobile devices or computers. System testing was conducted to evaluate sensor reading performance, data communication stability, and overall monitoring system functionality. Data collection was carried out from a Solar Power Plant (SPP) between 09:00 AM and 03:00 PM. The results showed that the system was able to monitor and transmit solar power plant parameters in real time with good accuracy and reliability. The implementation of IoT technology in this monitoring system is expected to improve maintenance efficiency, reduce the risk of system failures, and support the optimization of solar power plant performance in generating electrical energy.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the dominant development of creative dance in dance extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Telaga. This is evident from the various achievements achieved by students in dance competitions at the district and provincial levels, most of which are oriented towards creative dance. Creative dance is considered more interesting, varied, and in line with current developments, so it is more popular with students than traditional dance. This condition causes traditional dance learning, especially Tidi Da'a, to become less dominant in extracurricular activities. Nevertheless, the school continues to strive to preserve regional culture through traditional dance learning by implementing demonstration methods in the Tidi Da'a learning process. This study aims to describe the Tidi Da'a learning process through demonstration methods in extracurricular activities at SMA Negeri 1 Telaga. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consist of dance extracurricular instructors and students who participate in dance extracurricular activities. The results of the study indicate that the Tidi Da'a learning process through the demonstration method is carried out through several stages, namely an introduction to the history and meaning of the dance, a demonstration of movements by the instructor, repeated movement exercises, and evaluation based on the wiraga, wirama, and wirasa aspects. The demonstration method is considered effective because it makes it easier for students to understand and imitate the dance movements directly. In addition, learning Tidi Da'a in extracurricular activities is one of the school's efforts to preserve regional culture amidst the dominant interest of students in creative dance and the influence of digital culture.
