Abstract

Background: Collaboration has emerged as an essential capability because it helps us achieve effective collective performance  something we are now doing more often in digital and cross-functional organizations. Although the collaborative activities are becoming more intense, a variety of inconsistencies remain in terms of outcomes given the differences in shared cognition, interaction quality, and role integration between human beings and artificial intelligence (AI). This gap signifies the necessity of a holistic measurement tool that is able to quantify collaborative maturity in human–AI integrated workflows. Objectives: This paper aims to develop and validate the collaborative intelligence quotient (CIQ) scale as a supporting diagnostic construct for measuring the collaborative maturity of human–AI integrated workflows in the diverse property development and integrated township sector in Indonesia. Methods: A scale-development protocol was conducted using a purposive sample of 32 managerial practitioners in Indonesian property firms. Dimensionality, reliability, and convergent validity were examined sequentially using EFA followed by CFA. Results: The EFA suggested a four-factor structure, and the CFAs conducted for further purification led to a relatively simple measurement model with three latent dimensions (Adaptive CoLearning; Cognitive Synchronization & Fluency Interaction; Human-AI Complementary Intelligence) and nine out of eleven indicators. The final model showed adequate internal consistency and convergent validity. Conclusion: CIQ is a psychometrically reliable tool to systematically chart organizational collaborative maturity in utilizing AI for teamwork, and it could serve as an end-to-end foundation on which subsequent structural testing and capability scaling may be operationalized.

Abstract

Background: This study is motivated by 1) the limited implementation of harmony and loyalty as part of the AKHLAKvalues and 2) the decline in extra-role behavior among millennial employees at PT Askrindo. Objective: This research investigates the relationships between Affective Commitment (AC) and Leadership Behavior (LB) and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), as mediated by Work Engagement (WE), among millennial employees. Methods: Using a saturated sampling method, 180 millennial employees were selected through a quantitative explanatory research design. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS through SmartPLS. Results: The results indicated that AC was not significantly related to OCB (T = 1.243, p = 0.214) but was positively associated with WE (T = 3.817, p = 0.000). On the other hand, LB had a significant positive effect on OCB (T = 4.102, p = 0.000) and WE (T = 5.231, p = 0.000). Moreover, WE also had a positive effect on OCB (T = 3.654, p = 0.000). Bootstrapping analysis repeated with 5,000 samples confirmed that WE completely mediated the AC–OCB relationship (indirect effect = 0.134, T = 2.895, p = 0.004) and partially mediated the LB–OCB relationship (indirect effect = 0.202, T = 3.711, p = 0.000). Conclusion: The direct effect of affective commitment on employee OCB can be enhanced through work engagement and leadership behavior as mediating variables. This research also contributes significantly to the fields of Social Exchange Theory and Job Demands–Resources Theory by providing empirical evidence concerning employees, particularly millennials working in state-owned enterprises.

Abstract

Background: The rapid development of digital marketing, especially through social media, has changed consumer behavior in seeking information and making purchase decisions. Activities such as influencer marketing engagement, user-generated content (UGC), and viral beauty trends are the main strategies in promoting products, especially in the luxury makeup industry. However, the effectiveness of these activities does not always directly affect purchase intention. Objective: This study examines how influencer marketing engagement, UGC, and viral beauty trends influence purchase intention for luxury makeup products, with digital personal branding as a mediating variable. Methods: This study takes a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. This study's data collection methods include a literature review and questionnaires. This study's analysis utilized a Structural Equation Modeling approach based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results: This study shows that influencer marketing engagement, user-generated content, and viral beauty trends have a positive effect on shaping consumers' digital personal branding on social media. The higher the engagement with influencers, the more content from users, and the stronger the trend develops, the stronger the digital identity of consumers is formed. Digital personal branding has also proven to be the most dominant factor in increasing purchase intention for luxury makeup products. In addition, these three variables affect purchase intention both directly and indirectly, with a stronger indirect effect through digital personal branding. Conclusion: Thus, digital personal branding plays a key role as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between digital marketing activities and consumer purchase intention.

Abstract

Background: Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are vital contributors to economic development, employment generation, and innovation. However, SMEs in Indonesia face escalating sustainability challenges driven by digital transformation, shifting consumer behavior, and intensifying global competition, necessitating an examination of the strategic capabilities that underpin long-term sustainable performance. Objective: This research examines how Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO), as the independent variable, affects sustainable business performance and investigates the role of pro-growth entrepreneurial agility as the mediating variable in the EO–SBP relationship among Indonesian SMEs. Methods: This research uses a quantitative approach and applies PLS-SEM to analyze data collected from 300 SME owners across different business sectors. Before testing the proposed model, the reliability and validity of the measurement instruments were carefully evaluated. Results: The results reveal that entrepreneurial orientation has a positive impact on sustainable business performance and entrepreneurial agility. This confirms the fully developed mediating role of entrepreneurial agility and suggests that SMEs need to develop both an entrepreneurial mindset and dynamic capabilities to achieve long-term sustainability. Conclusion: This study conceptualizes and measures entrepreneurial agility, confirming it as a key mediating factor in the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and sustainable performance, thus contributing to Dynamic Capabilities Theory. The results provide useful implications for stakeholders, such as owners of micro, small, and medium enterprises, as well as policymakers, to strengthen entrepreneurship education and operational capabilities.

Abstract

Background: The tourism sector is one of the mainstays of Indonesia's economy. Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) dominate both income generation and employment in this sector, contributing significantly to regional development. However, most tourism MSMEs still adopt conventional marketing methods, thus reducing their competitiveness in an increasingly digital and dynamic market environment. Objective: This study examines the impact of human resource (HR) innovation and HR creativity on the marketing effectiveness of tourism MSMEs in Indonesia. Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional survey of 300 MSME owners and managers across major tourism destinations—Bali, Lombok, and Yogyakarta—was carried out. Data were collected through a structured survey questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: HR Innovation (Mean = 4.09) and HR Creativity (Mean = 4.23) received high scores but showed no significant relationship with marketing effectiveness (r ≈ −0.03; p > 0.05; R² = 0.002), indicating a very weak predictive model. This finding contradicts previous studies that found positive innovation–performance relationships. Conclusion: HR innovation and HR creativity are not significant predictors of marketing effectiveness. Organizational leadership, culture, and technological support are the key structural and systemic factors. Theoretical Contributions: This study highlights the need for an integrated HR development approach and theoretically contributes by demonstrating that creative resources require systemic mechanisms to translate into measurable marketing outcomes.

Abstract

Background: Although research has been shrinking over the last few years, despite growing publications, its recent bibliometric structural development remains relatively underexplored regarding Indonesia's continuing industrial policy after the nickel export ban and Mining Law (2020). Objective: To map research development, collaboration networks, and trending topics while also identifying gaps in mineral downstreaming research. Methods: Using Publish or Perish in Google Scholar, 1,000 publications (2005–2025) were obtained and analyzed using VOSviewer for co-authorship and keyword co-occurrence. Results: Publications increased exponentially after 2020, coinciding with Indonesia's nickel export ban. Co-authorship analysis identified 32 connected authors across 8 clusters, with Chinese-affiliated researchers dominating the network (Wang, Zhang, Chen, Li). Keyword co-occurrence mapping revealed 1,083 interconnected items across 26 thematic clusters, with the discourse evolving from resource nationalism and investment policy toward critical minerals, battery ecosystems, ESG, and sustainability. Conclusion: The bibliometric map reveals a maturing but fragmented research landscape, with underexplored areas in green governance, mineral circularity, and domestic social impact. This study contributes the first systematic bibliometric overview of mineral downstreaming research in Indonesia, providing a research roadmap for scholars, policymakers, and industry stakeholders navigating Indonesia's role in the global clean energy supply chain.

Abstract

Background: Remuneration systems in private universities often lack transparency and performance-based incentives, leading to perceived inequity among structural officials—those in formal academic and managerial leadership positions. At Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja (UKI Toraja), the existing compensation system is primarily determined by position classification and length of service, without systematically evaluating the actual complexity and responsibilities of each role. This administrative approach fails to reflect genuine contributions, thereby undermining motivation, internal equity, and institutional competitiveness. Objective: This study aims to develop a performance-based remuneration model for structural officials in private universities through a case study at Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja. Methods: A qualitative case study was conducted at Universitas Kristen Indonesia Toraja through document analysis, semi-structured interviews, and a limited confirmatory questionnaire. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis following Corbin and Strauss, with triangulation across interview, documentary, and questionnaire data sources to enhance validity. Results: The findings indicate that the application of the Factor Evaluation System (FES) is relevant for objectively assessing positions based on responsibilities and work complexity rather than personal attributes. The adaptation of the nine FES dimensions results in a more holistic assessment of academic and managerial roles in private universities. The nine-level scoring system (1–9) improves fairness, transparency, and accuracy in job grading and strengthens the linkage between performance and compensation. Conclusion: The adaptive FES model constitutes a strategic instrument for merit-based human resource governance in private universities. It offers a replicable framework for institutions seeking to align structural compensation with performance, responsibility, and institutional values.

Abstract

Background: There are rapid environmental changes in the FMCG distribution industry in Indonesia; this steady change demands constant adaptation by organizations and renewal of knowledge. Existing research investigates organizational agility, thriving at work, and knowledge management independently, with no prior study examining the integrated impact of these variables on sustainable performance. This study conceptualizes Sustainable Knowledge Plasticity (SKP) as a novel dynamic capability that enables organizations to engage in continuous cycles of knowledge renewal and integration. Objective: This study aims to explore the mediating role of Sustainable Knowledge Plasticity (SKP) between organizational agility, thriving at work, and knowledge management in predicting organizational performance. Methods: This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design using stratified purposive sampling among 385 FMCG distribution employees across Java and Sulawesi provinces. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire, followed by analysis through SEM-PLS (SmartPLS 4.0). Results: Organizational agility, thriving at work, and knowledge management have significant effects on Sustainable Knowledge Plasticity (SKP), which in turn directly influences organizational performance. The mediation analysis indicates that Sustainable Knowledge Plasticity (SKP) is a critical mechanism for translating adaptive capacities into sustainable outcomes. Conclusion: Sustainable Knowledge Plasticity (SKP) is an essential precursor to organizational performance, linking adaptability with sustainability in the long term and extending Dynamic Capability Theory through a strong emphasis on continual knowledge replenishment.

Abstract

Background: The performance of officers is an important factor in preserving public security and enhancing confidence in the police among communities in Indonesia. The South Tangerang Resort Kepolisian (Police Resort) has been carrying out several reforms related to professional challenges; however, the scope of implementing evidence-based performance improvement strategies still requires broader engagement from academia and practitioners/experts. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the direct and indirect effects of training, self-efficacy, and work motivation on Polri performance in the South Tangerang Police Resort. Methods: A mixed-method sequential explanatory design was used with 208 Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) personnel from three police sectors, of which 136 respondents were recruited through proportional random sampling. A combination of Likert-scale questionnaires and path analysis supported the quantitative component, while qualitative triangulation employed the Delphi technique. Results: Training, self-efficacy, and work motivation had positive, significant direct effects on performance. Self-efficacy and training were also positively associated with work motivation, which, in turn, partially mediated their relationship with performance, although direct effects were greater than indirect ones. Conclusion: The quality of training, higher self-efficacy through coaching, and motivational systems are needed to optimize performance. In this regard, the present study contributes by providing further confirmation of the mediating role of work motivation in a law enforcement setting.

Abstract

Background: FMCG distributors in emerging markets must adapt their route-to-market (RTM) strategies to market changes; however, this adaptation often compromises operational consistency, which is crucial for maintaining sales performance and outlet loyalty. This creates a dilemma between flexibility and stability that has not yet been fully addressed within the distribution capability framework. Objective: This study investigates RTM capability as a higher-order organizational construct comprising five integrated first-order dimensions and examines how this capability drives organizational performance through marketing execution quality, conditioned by competitive intensity. Methods: This study employed PLS-SEM using data collected from 300 employees of Indonesian FMCG distribution companies. Results: The findings reveal that RTM capability significantly and positively influences marketing execution, which, in turn, significantly enhances organizational performance (p < 0.001). Marketing execution partially mediates the RTM–performance relationship (VAF = 42.2%), while competitive intensity moderates the RTM–execution relationship, amplifying execution returns under conditions of highly competitive rivalry. Conclusion: This study advances the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Dynamic Capabilities Theory by specifying the execution mechanism through which distributor-level capability generates organizational performance and by identifying competitive intensity as a boundary condition governing this mechanism.
