Abstract

Nowadays, land management requires a paradigm recondition towards wise behavior in utilizing natural resources. An alternative that can be consistently applied to support this is the application of agroforestry patterns. The purpose of this service is to provide counseling, training, and assistance to the community in agroforestry development. This activity was carried out in Dulamayo Barat Village, Telaga District, Gorontalo Regency. The method used is focused discussion and group training. The procedural activities are divided into three stages, namely planning (observation and socialization), implementation (counseling, training, and fostering productive activities), and evaluation stages (reviewing the participation of agroforestry developing communities). The results obtained in this service activity are: (a) observation activities describing the existence of forest destruction, monoculture patterns, cultivation without land cover, and low socio-economic aspects; (b) socialization is carried out to the village government to establish cooperation and request support in community empowerment; (c) extension is carried out by providing material on the prospects for agroforestry development; (d) the training content provides reinforcement for the community to choose a combination pattern of agroforestry and top grafting; and (e) the evaluation phase shows that 60% of the community participated in planning-implementation, and 47% participated in the evaluation of the agroforestry program.

Abstract

The aim of this program is the action of Community Development through planting a million trees on the banks of Limboto lake in Buhu village, Telaga Biru sub-district, Gorontalo Regency. This program is carried out as an effort to conserve the damage of the Limboto lake ecosystem, collaboration with the Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo, the government of Buhu village and the community of Buhu village. The method used in this activity is the method of socialization and the implementation of planting a million trees on the banks of Limboto lake. The flow of this activity includes the preparation of field observations and implementation of planting a million trees on the banks of Limboto lake. The results and discussion show that the empowerment action and the planting of a million trees on the banks of Limboto lake going well. It was concluded that the community empowerment action and conservation efforts through the program of planting a million trees on the banks of the Limboto lake have not been able to attract sympathy from the coastal communities of Limboto Lake. It is suggested to the government of village that empowerment actions and conservation efforts for Limboto lake like this need to be cultivated to a broader level of community understanding, about the need for action and actions to preserve Limboto lake through community empowerment programs.

Abstract

The purpose of this program is community empowerment action through outreach on the Capacity Building of Village Apparatus in Ulapato A Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo District. This program is carried out as an effort to improve the understanding of the officials in carrying out their duties as service providers and to assist the officials of Ulapato A Village, Telaga Biru District, Gorontalo District in implementing good service in accordance with the duties and functions that are implemented with a qualified capacity. Methods The implementation of this activity is carried out by using the lecture method, through the provision of materials adapted to the abilities and absorption of the apparatus as well as the community. This method is expected to provide knowledge and insights for officials and institutions as well as the community. The results and discussion show that the successful implementation of this community service program can be seen by the enthusiasm of all the stakeholders who were present, namely officials as well as the community. It is suggested to the village government that it is necessary to strengthen human resources within the village government of Ulapato A to be able to improve work quality services. Further improve training and socialization on increasing the capacity of village officials for the achievement of an organization.

Abstract

The main objective of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the Dumati village community in general about the importance of English language in relation to managing tourist objects. The future of the world tourism industry has such a bright prospect as stated by the World Tourism Organization (WTO), even the world tourism organization estimates that tourism will grow with an average growth of 4.2% per year. One of the regions that will experience the greatest growth rates are countries in Asia, including Indonesia. Of course, it is very important for the parties to receive foreign language assistance to the community in implementing the concept of tourism for the realization of sustainable tourism. And how to do it so that tourists do not experience language barriers so that sustainable tourism can be realized. The current community service uses focus group discussion and in-depth interviews that aims to develop the community’s awareness toward the importance of English language mastery as the key factor for sustainable tourism in Gorontalo. This activity received a very good response and went well. Dumati village officials and the village community were very enthusiastic about participating in this seminar, it was seen from the many people who participated by asking questions and discussing the concept of English language ​​that could be developed in the Embung Dumati tourism village. This community service is hoped to form basic information on how’s the community’s level of English and how to develop from there.

Abstract

Dysmenorrhoea is one of the most common gynecological problems affecting more than 50% of women and causes an inability to perform daily activities for 1 to 3 days each month. One of the management of pain during menstruation is by relaxing deep breaths, namely by teaching clients how to do deep breaths and how to exhale slowly so as to reduce pain intensity and also increase lung ventilation and increase blood oxygenation. The purpose of this community service is to provide training to nursing students on deep breathing relaxation which can reduce menstrual pain (dysmenorrhoea). Deep breath relaxation training is carried out through the pretest stage, the training stage and the post test. There are 42 students who were given training in community service, namely nursing students from the 2016 and 2017 Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo. The degree of dysmenorrhoea pain at the time of the pre test was mild pain 0% moderate pain as much as 81.0% and severe pain 19.0%. 9% and severe pain 19.0%. Based on the results of the training, it showed that most female students stated that this training was very useful because they gained knowledge and understanding of overcoming menstrual pain, after doing deep breathing relaxation students felt a decrease in dysmenorrhoea pain.

Abstract

Producer health is a problem that needs special attention among teenagers. Public awareness and knowledge of cancer including risk factors, prevention efforts, symptoms that arise, and early detection of cancer is still lacking so it is necessary to increase knowledge for young women. 1 Lake in the context of increasing the independence of adolescents who care about reproductive health during the covid-19 pandemic. From the results achieved with this activity, the school is very supportive and gives thanks to the Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo in carrying out the activities that have been carried out. Abstract

Toddlers are one of the age groups that are vulnerable to being infected with Covid-19, a disease caused by the SARS-Cov 2 Virus which has become a global pandemic since March 2020. The age limit for toddlers is 1-3 years (toddlers) and 3-5 years (pre-school). Therefore, the care of toddlers during the COVID-19 pandemic must be adjusted to the health protocols set by the government to break the chain of transmission. This is the goal of community service activities, namely to increase parents' knowledge by conducting counseling on how "The Role of Parents in Caring for Toddlers During the Covid 19 Pandemic". The method used is education using Power Points, Banners and Leaflets about caring for toddlers during the Covid 19 pandemic. The results of this activity achieved good results because as many as 21 mothers of toddlers were willing to take part in counseling and willing to help implement clean and healthy living behaviors and ways prevent and overcome the spread of Covid 19. Conclusion: a more intensive relationship between parents and their children, which has an impact on the growth and development of children, including how to treat children under five years of age during the Covid 19 pandemic. So that, Parents are the main protectors for their children's health

Abstract

The role of the community in each phase is needed to avoid more transmission. Efforts that can be made in the prevention phase by each individual include: wearing a mask, using a hand sanitizer/disinfectant, washing hands with soap and running water, keeping a distance of at least 1-2 meters from other people when outside the house. The purpose of this community service is to provide counseling to the community in the poly room of the Otanaha Hospital, Gorontalo City about the role of the patient's family in implementing health protocol discipline during the Covid-19 pandemic. Counseling was carried out through the pretest and posttest stages by distributing questionnaires to the public. There were 20 communities who were given counseling. The pre-test values ​​of knowledge about health protocol disciplines before counseling were obtained were Good 20%, Enough 15% and Less 65%, while after the counseling the post-test scores were found to be Good 55%, Enough 45%. Based on the results obtained that public knowledge about the role of the patient's family in implementing health protocol discipline has increased after being given counseling

Abstract

Independence is a condition in which a person who has the will and ability tries to fulfill the demands of his life in a legal, reasonable and responsible manner for everything he does. The family has a very big role in the safety of the elderly, especially in preventing falls. The purpose of this study is that the public can find out the importance of family independence in carrying out family health tasks to reduce the risk of falling. There are five family health tasks that must be considered, including being able to recognize family health problems, being able to make appropriate action decisions, being able to provide care to sick family members, being able to modify the environment, and being able to take advantage of public health service facilities. It can be concluded that after counseling the family and the elderly have understood the task of family health, once a day the family teaches tandem walking to the elderly to reduce the risk of falling in the elderly in Pentadio Timur Village, Gorontalo Regency

Abstract

Stress is a sign that a person's thoughts are becoming irrational or negative. Moreover, the current development of the Corona Virus shows that the public must be more aware of everything. This virus has an impact on people's lives around the world, one of which affects the psychology of teenagers where policies are made to reduce the impact of this pandemic. Where the mental condition of teenagers is increasingly being tested and not a few of them experience stress. The next step is to apply self-talk techniques that are beneficial for the psychological development of teenagers, which prioritize their positive thoughts over negative ones. The type of research used in this paper is a qualitative research with a descriptive method that explains how to overcome the stress experienced by teenagers during the Corona Virus pandemic as it is today with the Self Talk technique. The purpose of this community service is so that teenagers can overcome stress with Self Talk techniques during the covid 19 pandemic at Tridharma Lab Vocational School. School UNG Gorontalo City. From the results achieved with this activity, the school is very supportive and gives thanks to the Muhammadiyah University of Gorontalo in conducting counseling education in the form of leaflets and banners. The conclusion of this community service is that counseling can increase adolescent knowledge in training on Self Talk techniques
