Abstract

In the explanation of the Book of Deuteronomy 12-28, it tells about the decrees and regulations given by the Lord God to the Israelites and this was conveyed through Moses. This is conveyed with the aim of guiding their lives in obedience to Allah and the formation of a just society. These provisions cover various aspects, ranging from correct worship, social rules, family law, to instructions regarding moral and ethical life. The discussion in these articles emphasizes the importance of pure worship of God, protection of the weak, and enforcement of just laws in Israeli society. In the context of contemporary church life, the implementation of these decrees and regulations can be seen in the formation of church members which includes moral teaching, strengthening the discipline of Christian life, as well as applying the values of justice and love in relationships between congregations. This formation serves to strengthen faith, build solidarity, and form Christian character that prioritizes living in truth, love, and perseverance towards God. Thus, even though these regulations were revealed in the context of ancient times, the values contained in them are still relevant and can even be implemented in the guidance that the church carries out for the lives of the congregation entrusted to the church so that they experience changes in life and growth. spiritually and obtain the teachings of God's Word to use as a guide and testimony for the life of the congregation

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of inequality in access to technology on student motivation, engagement, and learning outcomes in Batam, as well as explore the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) on their social skills. Inequality of access to technological devices and the internet has the potential to hinder the use of AI in education, worsen academic achievement, and widen the gap in learning and career opportunities in the future. This study uses mixed methods, with quantitative surveys to measure the level of technology access of students, teachers, and parents, as well as qualitative interviews to understand the social and emotional impact of AI use. The results of the study show that students with limited access to technology face obstacles in utilizing digital learning resources, which has an impact on motivation and academic achievement. Although AI is able to improve learning personalization, its use also poses new challenges, such as the decline in direct communication capabilities due to the dominance of digital interactions. Based on these findings, the study recommends strategic measures, such as improving technology infrastructure, device lending programs, and digital skills training for students and teachers. The conclusion of the study emphasizes the need for a balanced approach between technology and social skills development to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment. The implication is that education policies need to support equal access to technology and smart technology integration, so that all students can take optimal advantage of the potential of AI without losing essential social skills in facing the challenges of the modern era

Abstract

This study aims to identify the challenges and opportunities in implementing Christian Religious Education (PAK) for Generation Alpha in the technological era, particularly in Batam City a dynamic industrial and port city with complex social structures. Generation Alpha is the first generation to be born into a fully digital environment, resulting in unique characteristics in learning, thinking, and the formation of faith-based values. Using a qualitative approach through a literature study method, this research analyzes various academic sources and relevant materials related to generational development, digital learning theories, and current PAK practices. The findings reveal that the primary challenges of PAK for Generation Alpha include declining spiritual attention, the dominance of instant digital media, and the disparity in teachers’ abilities to adapt to technology. On the other hand, significant opportunities arise in utilizing technology as a means of conveying faith values through creative approaches such as gamification, interactive media, and project-based learning. This study highlights the urgent need to transform PAK methods and curricula to be contextual and relevant to the digital world. Teachers, parents, and Christian educational institutions in Batam must collaborate to develop an interactive and value-driven model of PAK. Future research is recommended to explore the empirical effectiveness of digital media in shaping the faith character of Generation Alpha.

Abstract

Religious harmony is an important foundation for social stability and national integration in Indonesia, which is known as a multicultural and multireligious country. This article aims to examine the strategic role of education in building inter-religious harmony through a literature study approach. Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study analyses various academic sources published in the last 10 years that discuss tolerance education, religious moderation, and multicultural education. The results of the study show that formal and non-formal education play a significant role in instilling the values of tolerance, mutual respect, and interfaith dialogue. The practice of interfaith education in elementary schools has proven to be effective in forming an inclusive character from an early age. In the context of Christian religious education, the values of love, forgiveness, and respect for human dignity are the basis of religious moderation that is relevant to a pluralistic society. However, the implementation of interfaith education still faces challenges such as ideological resistance, limited teacher training, and a curriculum that is not fully multicultural. This article recommends the development of an interfaith curriculum based on universal values, teacher training in a multicultural approach, and the integration of interfaith activities in the educational environment. Education that is designed in a contextual and reflective manner can be a transformative instrument in building a peaceful, equitable, and inclusive society.

Abstract

Of course, competence in a teacher must be present, because this is an absolute requirement for him and also has the aim of providing knowledge and skills to students. Moreover, the knowledge provided must touch their cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. Personality competency is also the main foundation for a teacher and is the capital for setting a good example. Personality competency also greatly influences the surrounding environment in which a teacher interacts and the influence exerted will produce a good impact. From a Christian perspective, of course it is very connected when a teacher's personality is linked to the truth of God's word. God's words in the book of Galatians explain how a believer must have the fruits of the Holy Spirit to change and equip his life so that he can give something good to others. This is no exception for a teacher, who of course must have the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit to make himself a better person. The more specific aim is that a teacher, apart from providing a good example, also provides knowledge of a spiritual or spiritual nature to provide a valuable value for his students because a teacher, especially a teacher who teaches Christian religious education subjects, is very closely related to spiritual matters.

Abstract

The role of teachers in education is not limited to the delivery of material and theory but also involves shaping the character and faith of students, particularly in the context of Christian Religious Education (CRE). In an era of rapid development, teachers face numerous challenges such as professional pressure, technological advancement, and a crisis of humanity in educational relationships. Therefore, there is a need for resilient teachers—both in terms of faith and character. This study aims to examine teacher resilience from a Christian perspective using a humanization approach to education. The formal object of this study is Christian Religious Education, while the material object is teacher resilience, understood as a manifestation of perseverance, faithfulness, and divine calling. The research method employed is qualitative, utilizing literature reviews from theological and pedagogical sources. The findings indicate that teacher resilience in the Christian faith is rooted in a deep relationship with Christ, a spirituality of service, and an understanding of one’s vocation as an educator. This study emphasizes that faith formation and character development are essential aspects in addressing the humanitarian crisis in today’s educational landscape. The research contributes to the development of a CRE curriculum that focuses on the holistic human needs of both teachers and students.

Abstract

This study examines the role of religious education in shaping resilient Christian character in the era of Society 5.0, where rapid technological and informational developments present complex challenges. Religious education plays a crucial role in building mental and social resilience while providing a strong moral foundation for the younger generation. Data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) show that 70% of Indonesian adolescents experience mental pressure due to the rapid technological advancements, highlighting the importance of holistic education. Findings from Satya Wacana Christian University reveal that students actively involved in religious education demonstrate more positive social behavior. Additionally, the use of technology in religious education increased by 40% during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering opportunities for innovative learning. However, only 30% of religious education teachers have received specialized training, indicating the need for educational reforms to enhance teaching quality. This study underscores that effective religious education can shape Christian character capable of facing the challenges of the Society 5.0 era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the optimization of synergy between the government and the church in budget planning for Christian religious activities in Batam City. Religious activities play a vital role in character building and maintaining harmony among citizens. While the church serves as a center for moral and social development and the government has a constitutional responsibility to support religious freedom, challenges in creating optimal synergy still exist. The lack of clarity in roles between the government and the church, as well as inadequate coordination mechanisms, hinder collaboration. This research utilizes a qualitative method with a case study approach to gather data through in-depth interviews and document analysis. The findings indicate that effective synergy can be achieved through participatory budget planning involving both parties from the outset, as well as the application of innovations in budgeting schemes and transparency principles. The recommendations produced from this research include establishing a Permanent Consultation Forum between the Government and the Church, creating special budget categories for social-religious activities, and developing technical guidelines for partnership. Through these measures, it is expected that the synergy between the government and the church will provide positive impacts for the multicultural community of Batam City, creating a more harmonious environment and optimizing the quality of life for its residents.
